Season of the Wicked

It began the same way, it always has. You were hunted, tormented and tortured by a monster, a creature hidden under the bed, in the woods, under the stairs, in the basement...wherever. It pushed you to breaking point and...you killed it. Over the years, you forgot, turned horror into dreams and nightmares, but it was always there...until one day it broke free, making you one of them, one of the wicked.

So, the guardians, the animated teddy bears and dolls which protect some children have been going missing, and things have been getting...weird. A small group of the wicked, while drinking in the Underworld, one of the local pubs decide they need to do something (perhaps more than a little alcohol was involved, but, it's still a good idea).

Will our mis-matched Wicked show themselves as the Heroes...or will something -really- bad befall this halloween?

This sounds VERY interesting, I'll work on a Monster. I'm thinking she could be a Surgeon as a human and a demoness inspired by Bloody Mary as a monster. I'll flesh her out a bit, buy does that sound like a good start?

I want to be upfront about this, this would be my first group game, I'd be on a severe learning curve, and I can't guarantee I won't be stressed out to all high heavens about this and might not be able to handle it well. But dammit, Siddy just makes this stuff sound like too much. So...if she wants, I'm in. I can start working on a character/monster tomorrow :)

Quick question about creating characters, where it calls for rolls it also has (#). Does that mean roll or use the # in () or can you roll and if you get less then the # use the #?

Human Name: Simon
Monster Name: Lord of the Flies


Simon is a skinny and short young man, intelligent though with a touch of social anxiety, he wants to but often has trouble getting what he wants to say out for people. He has seen a lot for a man his age and as such he can dissociate and gets lost in flashbacks if his senses remind him of something especially memorable from his past, both good and bad. Day to day he's a glass-half empty sort of man, though surprisingly he is actually very hopeful for what the future could bring. He doesn't exactly have grit, it's more like whilst he can be put down easy enough, it'll take a lot for him to stop getting back up and getting back on the horse. He still carries a sense of humour as seeing people happy tends to make him forget about his own pain.

The Lord of the Flies looks like a literal swarm of flies (though these are more like plasmic spirits) making up a dark winged cloud mass reminiscent as it convolesces of a skeletal boogie man. It has a large distended head with a gaping jaw which cackles and swallows people whole, absorbing them into it's mass. The Lord of the Flies used to visit Simon in recurring nightmares, enough for the man to ponder if his house was haunted to be plagued as he was. Things came to head when having had enough and realising he had control over his dreams in a spark of inspiration, Simon attacked the Lord with a berserker rage of sheer suppressed emotion pouring out and feasted on the monster's flesh, taking it's soul into him.

A question about the talents listed under abilities other then Willpower. Do we pick a number of them equal to our attribute value or do we do something different?

OOPs Monsters traits -are- talents.

No you choose 1 talent for each one, except willpower, with willpower, you have a number of strange abilities equal to your rating, they are strengthening facets of the same ability

Oh, and choose one of the traits and choose..a suitable passive ability. So, maybe if you can throw fire, your immune to it?

Sidhe, the rules don't give examples of active/passive so I'm unsure what to put for them.

Also the rules make it seem each Talent gets an active and a passive ability, though you make it seem upthread that only one Talent will get a passive ability...

Oh, and choose one of the traits and choose..a suitable passive ability. So, maybe if you can throw fire, your immune to it?

Okay, so, lets go here. You need to decide what kind of orgy you incite. Lust, Hunger, Pain..all examples.

Passively for psychosis...maybe you can sense what sets people off? Maybe you can sense how psychotic someone is, or close to breaking?
Passively for Orgy...something similar, amplify the orgy thing from yourself. So, people around you feel hungier, more horny.
Passively for Predator...maybe you...find it easier to hunt and track people?

I never wrote them up, so if anyone else can't think, I will happily help out!

Name: Clarence "Clay" Mephlas

Monster Name: Mr. Sandman

Clay is a man who is despondent with life in general. Though he still feels empathy and understands people, even striving to help them if they need it, he firmly believes the world is terrible and full of hatred and darkness. A stoic anti-hero type, he spends his days as a drifting bounty hunter, trying to write wrongs wherever he can and bring scum to some form of justice, however fleeting it may be. While his demeanor is generally friendly, he can turn quickly like the spin of a coin and make you regret crossing his path. Has a degree in smartassery. Convinced he's no good for anyone and not one to seek out emotional attachments to people. Drinks a lot to try and dull his brain from thinking so much.

Pain:4 (Trait: Doom Dust - All damage absorbed by the cloak causes it to rupture small pockets, spilling dust. This dust can be gathered around himself, and then shot out at incredible speed, tearing into anyone viciously within a large range. Repairs damage, sped up by how much blood it causes to drain from those it hits. Doom Dust takes about half an hour to regenerate after being used.)

Mr. Sandman latched onto Clay at a young age. He caused his parents to fall asleep at the wheel of the car and crash it, but protected Clay from physical harm. This not only caused him to become an orphan, but the prime suspect in their deaths, despite the lack of evidence. The suspicious nature and the fact he inherited a vast fortune that he would come into once he was of age were the main factors in this. While Clay was shuttered from foster home to orphanage over and over, he found any other children he interacted with had their eyes taken while they slept. They didn't feel it, they just simply dreamed, woke up, and found they could not see anymore. They found their eyeballs gone entirely, usually due to the shrieks of the other children who saw empty sockets. As this continued all of his life, at the age of 20, Clay attempted suicide. Mr. Sandman merged with him completely, powerful enough to do so at that point from ingesting so many eyes, and saved him. Also giving him enough control to prevent such attempts ever again.



Sooooo, a few things, Siddy, you mentioned you wanted suitable passive abilities, and given the creation sheet had suggested talents, I created some that seemed more fitting to the Monster I chose. Let me know if that's all right or not. Hopefully the passive abilities are good too :)

The connections thing confused the heck out of me in how the dice rolls were supposed to affect them, so I basically just took the dice roll, split it up between the connections and divides I wanted, kind of like what wander did. If that needs to be adjusted at all, let me know.

Finally, the Monster features section mentioned "Additional features can be purchased at creation with divides", so I took that to mean the ones from Connections/divides, hence him having 5 despite my rolling a 3. If my assumption there is correct or not, either way, let me know. Don't want to seem like I'm cheating or anything :D

PS - Hope you like the little wink I put into the Sleep Dust power, hehe.

Do all the Talents get passive abilities or just one?

Also, to clarify: in-game, do Connections add a flat modifier to the final roll or do they modify each die in the pool? I expect the former, though I wanted to make sure.
