I find myself in a story (my idea so who can I blame) that requires me to study up on the finer points of woman's underwear in the early sixties.

If what I read here is true and accurate, one might say in such a story, for example:

The woman slipped out of her roll-ons and lent a hand to her lover out of hers.

With 'roll-ons' being a style between corselettes of the 50s and more modern panties.

Ah, hmmm, ok.

Just looking for the appropriate or likely language one might use in a story set in the early sixties, at least in regards to such things.

The woman slipped out of her roll-ons and lent a hand to her lover out of hers.

Based on the information I have, it seems this would be a likely thing to say, given the time period?
