It's about time I run a group game on E!

Not far from Oak's Valley...

...Crimsonwing Manor, has been showing lights on moonless nights for nigh a fortnight. Since the appearance of activity in the old home of Baron Eric Fawkes; animals are being butchered, crops are starting to rot, and the river is running foul. Several villagers have dissappeared in the past two weeks; the blacksmith's son, a barmaid, the local priest, and the mayor's wife. The town has appealed for an investigation and aid in ending their stroke of misfortune...

The premise, obviously enough, is to figure what's wrong in the town and possible save it from horrific doom. The game world is already set up by myself, as this is to test a campaign I will be running as a Free RPG Day promotion. Though that beign said I've extended the campaign depending on how the party plays and fairs.

What I'm looking for:
- A 3 to 5 character party
- Regular Posting (once a day, nothing too demanding)
- Creative Thinkers, basically people to look for unorthodox uses of abilities and to solve puzzles by thinking outside of the box.

Character Generation:
-20 point buy
-Paizo material prefered (including current playtests), but willing and able to convert 3.5 stuff
-Starting at 3rd Level
-Traits allowed: 2
-Maximum Wealth (Class + 3000)

About the Campaign:
-Very Castlevania/Van Hellsing influnced. Traps, dungeon crawls, and fighting monsters will be the focus of the gameplay.
-Puzzles/Traps have multiple solutions. This challenges me as a gamemaster and let's the player ands and myself have freedom to experiment.
-I'm an experienced GM, but I'm not out to destroy you. I might not make things easy, but I'm not going to set you up to fail.
-Have fun...this is E! so I will remove my usual PG-13/R Rating I have on home campaigns. Though that being said, the focus of the game is to get the monsters, not to bed the monsters. Party members keep your flings to Pms. Hwever feel free to allude, use inuendo, or blatanty boast about your exploits. Gamewise though, most scenes of the carnal nature slow the game or distract other players, if not halting the game completely.

What I do to split the adventuring and naughty sections apart, is to just create separate threads for them, or have the players do it when they are getting it on. That way all of the off-adventuring fun happens at the same time the next day occurs and the adventuring begins anew.

I don't know quite yet what class I want to play, since level 3 is so boring and really limits build orders. I would like to try out a custom bunnygirl race, if the DM would allow.

Offline Genbu83Topic starter

There will be leveling up in the game. I just like to start small. Level 3 is a good "not quite rookie" level. Still threatened by small frys, but powerful enough to get the job done.

Let me see the race...if it's anything like shuriken nekogami's neko race...It  should be fine.

this has some potential i think... i have had a character i've always wanted to do more than a one shot with a half orc ranger

Offline Genbu83Topic starter

I prefer the Paizo and Wizards of the Coast pantheons. Active deities and direct divine magic is prevelant.

If you are looking to play an exorcist; clerics, inquisitors, and wizards can all do the job. If you want to be more magic based, go cleric of Iomadae or Saranae. Both are good gods that dislike undead. Iomadae is more the crusader type and Saranae is a sun godess. I'd recommend Glory and Sun domains if you want to hurt evil things and make undead really dislike you. Though you said Abjuration so you could go Sun and Protection. Inquisitors are a mix of Ranger, Paladin, and Cleric, so they make a good middle ground. If you have seen Van Helsing, with Hugh Jackman, that's what you're looking at playing. Wizards, as you know are fairly skilled at magical affairs, and scribe scroll is a very handy thing.

If you are looking to play something a little more gimmick oriented, both Oracles and Sorcerors have interesting options.

Sounds awesome, there are some great feats for half orcs...such as Scent and Fight-On.

his bio was he escaped from an amazon run orc/half orc camp his mother was the leader at the time.  the camp raided surrounding areas for men to breed and make half orc warrior women, (since as the pathfinder book says orcs view half orcs as more cunning and rutheless, but since he was a male he was put into the slave/breeding stock he led the men of the camp in a revolt in his teens, and eventually (when i take leadership) some of the men from the camp will be following him around wanting him to lead them

You're the DM, you can just invent the race. That and I'm thinking of going fighter bunnygirl then.

Tenative Bunny Girl Race

...standing a little over five feet the female aimed her crossbow. Her large fluffy white ears kept trained on the orc rummaging through her backpack...

+2 to one ability score: Bunny girls are often servants, slaves, wards, or children of human, drow, and devil population. Thus they tend to be very versitile.
Lowlight vision: Bunny Girls can see better than humans in poorer lighting conditions.
Keen Senses: Bunny girls have large ears and sensitive noses, giving them a +2 bonus on sound and scent based perception checks.[i/]
Instinct: Bunny Girls get a +2 racial bonus on Initiative, Stealth, and Survival Checks due to being half animal.
Of two worlds: Bunny girls are treated as both human and animal for effects that target those types.

[b/]Alternative Favored Class Bonuses

Alchemist: Add one more minute duration to the Mutagen's effect.
Bard: Add 1 round to total bardic performances
Druid: Add 1/3 to the number of animals summoned from a Summon Natures Ally spell. Effectively, for every 3 levels this favored option is selected they automatically summon +1,+2, and so forth depending on their level.
Fighter: Add 1 to CMD vs Disarms or Trips
Paladin:Add 1/4 of a lay on hands. When this bonus is chosen 4 times, the paladin is granted an additional use of the ability.
Summoner: The eidolon gains an extra hitpoint or skill point in place of the summoner.

Yeah orcs are much more ruthless in Paizo, almost as awesome as they are in Midnight.

All right, so you're currently an escaped slave. Working your way up in power? What is your alignment? What are your current goals? What's your motivation to help the people of this valley?

Sorry if I get carried away...I like character developement.

Oh yes. All pretty and adorable with medium armor and a shield and longsword. Trying oh so hard to not look so damn pathetic while hacking away at monsters. She is the sort of bunnygirl that looks constantly pouty, and makes you wonder about what sort of perverted weapons master would find it in him to train her to be a fighter.

That is her background right there. Was a maid at a dojo for fighters off in some land, doing all of the cleaning and having to deal with the constant sex and naughty from the students and the master. Spending all of those years watching others get to have all of the fun wearing shiny armor and stabbing squishy things.

After those years of watching and gaining 'tips' from students, she showed the master her innate talents at killing things with a sword, so he decided to train her all the way. Still, though, she has a problem with authority and readily agrees to anything anyone wants. Not wanting to be a bother or be a kill joy, as she has spent more time on her back getting sexed up then actual combat experience.

Hahaha, I'm beginning to wonder if we're all after the same sort of campaign; but here's my concept (in brief) anyway!

Vladimir Cross

Race: Human
Class: Inquisitor
Deity: Iomedae
Alignment: Lawful Neutral

Vladimir is a knight of the Church of Iomedae, but he was not always so. Born a peasant, to peasant stock, Vladimir had the mostly-happy, sometimes hard, childhood that most farming folk have in a world where they're at the bottom of the heap. Just like most born into peasantry, Vladimir might have lived this life from birth to death, if not for unhappy circumstances and the intervention of fate.

Vladimir's family, and village, were preyed upon by the undead. Those foul, horrifying creatures, and those who would manipulate them, came and claimed the village and the lives of its people. Vladimir was one of those who managed to escape the onslaught, but his family was not so lucky. He joined Iomedae's Church not long after, where he was trained as a knight and inquisitor.

The experience has left Vladimir cynical and jaded, and he can be somewhat of a dick as a result of this. But there is no question that, charisma-issues aside, he is a knight of Iomedae; and he will always protect the innocent and bring low those who seek to victimize them. Just because his favorite part is the "bringing low those who seek to victimize them" part doesn't make him a bad guy, does it?

Anyway, I'll flesh out the concept a little more and put together a sheet once I've decided whether or not I'm going to be able to play here (with my other games and time constraints being the main question)! You can take me off the party list until I commit, if you'd like, so that there's room for others if I waffle too long on the issue. I'll try to come to a decision A.S.A.P.

I like it . . I like it a lot

I'm glad you like the concept, Kaitlyn! I assure you, he is very passionate. As far as "sexy," though ... ;) Well, maybe when he's not covered in grime and gore.

You need not worry, either, Nicci; your character will not offend Vladimir's sensibilities. Too much.

As fallensaviour points out, we do have one ranger already. Although if you both work together, you could probably go different routes with it (perhaps Kaitlyn's character could be bow-focused, with fallen's character acting as a front-liner). I say go with what you'd most enjoy playing, concept-wise, and not worry too much about party dynamics.

Bards are always useful, though, so if you've got a good idea for one, I'm sure we'd all love to hear it!

I don't trust you at all! Those perverted charismatic people, always wanting to see me naked and inspect for any illegal drugs. Where would I be hiding drugs on my person anyway!?

I'm cool with Tieflings...Evil is a means to an end really. As long as you don't disrupt the party, I'm not that strict on alignment.

Though that being said. Tieflings are evil by Nature, not evil by choice. Though many can become evil by choice; any Paladin i'd play would weigh the creatures deeds and concious actions before deciding if smite is really necessary.

As far as guns go, if you're a gunslinger, you'll have one, otherwise you need to be an arificer, alchemist, or 5 ranks in knowledge alchemy and enginering to conceptualize one. Of course if you take any of the gunslinger feats you will be able to as well. Firearms are nice, but really only benefit Gunslingers at the moment.

Callie, do you want me to tweak Tieflings? Though to be honest, I'm loving the idea of the Halfling with No Name or the Gnome Stranger.

Working on the backstory.. thinking a girl who had the bad luck to be branded by in an attempt to do a summoning of sorts. She was cursed.. and the would be 'genius' discovered she wasn't controlled by her brands. A gunslinger could be fun. making the character now. Two revolvers and a few other created weapons.

(Assuming you allow me to pay creation cost.)

Name: Valerianna Tarn
Race: Teifling (formerly Human)
Class: Gunslinger
Deity: Calistra
Alignment: Chaotic Good

History: Growing up in the Shades, a girl like Valieranna had few choices. Most of them bad. None them as bad as being taken by experimental minded mage who tattooed her with the blood of demons in hopes of creating a demon blooded slave that could hold the essence of a demon spirit. The spells and brands worked well enough, twisting her body into a tainted mix of human and demoness, but he was foolish enough to leave a weapon nearby and discovered to his regret that she wasn't' bound by the circles against evil that he had in place.

She discovered a cache of weapons, and notes on how to make more from an adventurer who nearly killed him. As well as notes on his 'master' who set him on the path that cursed her with her form. Now she follows the path of the gun and vengeance as she followed the clues back to this master. She's 'asked' several links in the chain of conspiracy so far, leaving bodies and bullets behind as she looks. Working from the gunman's notes she's crafted two 'revolvers' and modified some of the ammo to work in them but she has yet to have the time to work up some of the specialized alchemical recipes that she had read about.

<Still in work>

Looks good, I don't remember if you have access to mythweavers or plothook Callie, if not I'll put your character data on one of those sheets. Though I think revolvers are a little high tech and costly. Double pistols or pepper boxes would fit more in the them.

Think more musketeer or pirate than Dark Tower. Eitherway show me the costs.

Revolvers are 750 gp each.. so two would be 750 if hand made..

-Double barell pistols are 1750 each,
-Dragon (which I wanted for alchemical rounds) is 1500
-Rifle is 1600
-Shotgun 2000
and pepper boxes are 3000!

All right, I'll accept that then. Which is odd considering a revolver is more advanced than a pepperbox. I guess for enchanting purposes, the pepperbox has advantages. The dragoon is a great idea though.

Considering you're making the ammo yourself. I'll be reasonable, though it's a little hard to believe youd' have more than 50 cartidges ready most of the time. Though, though carrying reloading supplies is smart. Also there are a few Grit abilities that give you ammo...secret stash I believe.

Tara Faintstar

Born to the streets, Tara Fainststar learned early in life that the only way to survive was to never let anyone see  your hand before you played it.  Ever the optimist, she learned easily how to lie her way out of any situation, and nimble fingers kept food on the table and coin in her purse.  She also learned to sing, a gift given to her by her mother.  Tara learned, as she grew older and her talents matured, that people trusted a woman with a beautiful voice.  She had seen as a youth, when her mother sang int he streets, but she put it to a new use as she reached adulthood.

As her body sprang into full bloom Tara began to sing for more specific crowds.  Crowds that enjoyed a little skin, and didn't mind a bit of physical contact.  She became experienced in drawing true joy from all genders and races, and if they left a little lighter int eh pocket than they thought she only counted it as her tip for a job well done.  And if they asked for a private performance, one with a song of a different sort . . well who was she to deny them- for the right price of course.

Tara net her mentor in one such situation.  She had drawn his interest, he said, not for her more physical performances, but for her voice.  He told her it was uncommon to find someone with such a clear and carrying voice in brothels and taverns, and that if she was willing he would give her voice the gift of power.  Tara, generally more concerned with wealth and her own pleasure, took his offer on a whim.  She has never had reason to be sorry.  Years after leaving the traveling Bard's tutelage, Tara took to traveling and peddling her many services.  Whether it be slaying lesser creatures, or singing the pants off of some bored nobleman, Tara was always happy to please, and nimble fingers kept food in her mouth even when profitable jobs were few and far between.

That was how she came to be in one of the many small villages near Crimsonwing Manor.  Serving her own whims, once again, Tara had been forced into hiding.  One too many lies had put her on the wrong side of a very powerful, and wealthy, patron.  Donning the the robes of a holy woman she worked her way into the priest's best graces (and into his pants more than once), biding her time by seducing his acolytes and a fair number of the naive villagers.  Before long, Sara Sunflower became her most oft used alias, and the Priest's curtails became her favorite hiding place.

Good question, F.S. I just maxed mine. Do you want us to roll for them, Genbu?

I prefer them rolled, but like powered players. So take half + one + con on low rolls. Which means;

d12 give 7
d10 give 6
d8 give 5
d6 give 4

you're also free to apply favored class bonuses along with thoughness is so desired.
