Valencia

The rain fell from the gray sky in droplets that were more akin to dust than precipitation. All of the trees along the road to the Inari Pass glistened as though kissed by faerie glamor. This road in particular lead from Kitase, the coastal stronghold of the Inyu, through the Bedou Mountains to the borders of the Ceres' holdings. Nestled amongst these foothills is the village of Lander. It is not much too look at, with a population just shy of 50. Alongside the main road, small huts and cabins spring up, some a little further back from the road, with a spiderweb of footpaths leading to them. They rely greatly on traveling merchants heading to Kitase to sell their wares. The men of the village are very fine hunters, bringing to the merchants skins of deer, bear, and the prized clouded leopard. Small change from rooms leased help the housewives, who also collect finger snails. The shells of these land mollusks are broken down into a pretty blue-green dye that goes on to color the finest silks imported from across the sea.
It is the middle of the day, and people are milling about despite the mist that swirls about them. This weather is not unusual to them as spring begins to make it's debut. A few housewives stand together in front of a cabin, gossiping about one thing or another, baskets dangling from their tucked forearms. Children are darting about, playing tag and chase with one another. Two men are bartering eggs for mushrooms, and disagreeing about the price. There is a harmony to the flow of people, pleasant and quaint. It would be to this scene that our adventurer finds this little village, after traveling down the road since daybreak.
