The Japanese verb 浮く (Uku) has multiple different meanings.
The most common meaning is "to float" as in physically floating in space, like a cloud in the sky.
It can also mean "to not fit in/to be left out of a group". Social outcasts could be described as "floating" in this way.
As a trans person I have felt outcast for a large portion of my life. Outcast from the society I live in, outcast from the role I am expected to play in it, and even outcast from my own body.
I like to think of myself as a "floater" along with all the people who don't fit in with their societies expectations.
I'm sure in some ways you feel like a floater too.

My name is Vanessa and this is my roleplay request thread. I am looking for partners both on and off E to write with. If you want to skip to the different roleplay ideas head on to the next horizontal line.

I've been roleplaying in various different places for over a decade. I started as a wee little preteen writing the adventures of Sonic OCs with a friend and has been a regular part of my online interactions sense. I think this is a wonderful hobby that has really given me a creative outlet, helped developed my narrative skills, and made me a quick typer which has helped greatly in adult life.

I prefer to play trans women or very effeminate male characters (something that hits very close to home for me) in romantic context with masculine presenting men. I can also play cis women. As much as I can appreciate the beauty of other women I have not been afflicted with The GayTM as of yet. I love me some men!

In terms of how kinky I am when it comes to sexual stuff I would say I am sorta "chocolate"-y. There is definitely a flavor, but it's something I feel most people broadly would enjoy with the desire for richness. I love to really play out the romance and relationships and how goofy people (though mainly me) can be at times. I like to make jokes and laugh during sex. I think this is just how I cope with whirlwind of feelings that come from the sexual experience, especially as a trans person where your body still feels really alien to you in places. Plus I of course know that I am the funniest person to have ever lived, so why not play to my strengths? So expect that in roleplays with me and if you play into it I will fall in love with the roleplay.

I like to play furry characters, but these ideas assume human people and can be played as such. I enjoy lengthier roleplay posts and I would say I average around 300 words per post. I would prefer if a partner did around the same: enough to weave a picture and not too much that it becomes pointlessly long.

The Idea-rs!

Modern Day

Floaters
Summary: Former bully (M, you) heads to a new town and unknowingly works/lives next to a former victim (TransF, me) who has transitioned and still holds a grudge. Comes with unique cultural twists!

Taken Countries: Japan, USA
This story would focus on characters that, for one way or another, do not fit their countries definition of "normal". People who are outsiders to the dominant culture in one way or the other.
You would play as a young adult guy moving into a new job and/or a new residence that brings him into close contact with someone he used to bully as a child. This person, who would be a trans woman I would play, is unrecognizable thanks to time and her having transitioned for years. However, she recognizes you and holds a grudge which she'll act out on. Maybe she becomes a nightmare co-worker or the most insufferable neighbor just to torment you. Our goal is to bring these two characters together, bring them to reconciliation with the past, and lead them on to a new beautiful relationship.
This would take place in a country that, at least to me, would be somewhere I haven't set a story before. With different countries comes different cultures, different expectations, and different things for me to research and nerd out over.
I would really like to try: France, Ireland, or Czechia

My Boyfriend The Superhero

Summary: Superman-esque super hero (M, you) struggles to hide your superhero identity from the girl you have a crush on (TransF, me)

To me (and everyone else in the office) you are a goofy himbo boy from middle America. You are built like a tractor, sure, but you're innocent and cute.
To the rest of the world, you're a superhero. You can lift a train over your head, fly faster than a fighter jet, take a tank shell to the chest without flinching, and protect the city when they need you the most.
No one knows that you're both of these things and you've made sure of that. Anyone who knows who you are, who you really are, will be at risk from all of the super villains of the world.
I don't know any of that, not yet. I do know one thing: That I am your kryptonite. Worse yet, I actually kinda like you too. So how does the invincible man handle it when his office crush actually asks him out on a date?
Bonus points: if you want to be original characters.

Cloverfield High - Your Childhood Best Friend is a...Girl? Now?

Summary: For one highschool sophomore (M, you) school has been a turbulent since his parents divorced. He moved away from all his friends in the middle of junior high to live with the parent who moved away. Now he's moved back to his home town after his first year of high school. He expects to have a hard time making friends again, but as he enters his classroom for the first time he is tackled by a cute girl (TransF, me) he's never seen before that seems oddly familiar and knows his full name already. Who is this girl?

The classic anime trope of an opposite gendered childhood best friend! Only this time that childhood friend starts out life a bit differently. Either way, having a friend to start off the school year as a transfer student is a great way to get integrated back into social circles. Problem is her social circle got a whole lot weirder while you were away. Or maybe it was always like that (and what might that say about you)? You also inherit some less than positive attention from jealous girls, jealous guys, and other such characters.
Our relationship might not get romantic for a while if you want. Maybe your character is interested in other girls first and as a childhood friend invested in your happiness my character will try and play match maker. Maybe you're just happy to reconnect at first, but after another guy starts showing interest in me you unexpectedly become jealous. It's up to you! So long as eventually we have a little romance.

This RP is strictly non-sexual. Nothing beyond cuddling and kissing. This is a PG-13 anime!

Fantasy

The Knight of Ardougne and The Starlight Witch

Summary: A fantasy knight (M, you) has been sent on a quest to find your baron's missing daughter and kill her abductors. Early in his quest he helps a red haired witch (TransF, me) out of a bind who in turn joins him on his quest. This "help" is not what it initially seems, as unknown to the knight she is part of the conspiracy and is trying to subtly lead the knight off of his path. Things don't work out as planned for either of them.

This story would play on trust and mutual deception from both of the characters. Your character would be trying to complete their quest: finding the girl, bringing her back to the baron, and enacting lethal justice on the captors. Mine would be part of the conspiracy and would be traveling along with you under the guise of a helpful witch, but subtlety trying to lead you astray for as long as possible.
My character would be under orders to keep you alive and searching for as long possible since if they died the baron would immediately send others. My character's job is to lead yours down dead ends.
However new emotions complicate matters. Maybe our characters share similar moral values. The witch may see the knight's virtue and as the knight begins to doubt her try to win him over to her point of view. Maybe she begins to doubt her own beliefs and may eventually flip sides to work with the knight.
Either way as they adventure on they will learn that this "abduction" is not at all what it seems and that both the baron and the "abductors" have been lying to both characters.
This story would be focused more on intrigue and how the characters bond during it through their trials.

Stealing a Thief's Heart

Summary: A prodigy thief (M, you) takes a big risk on stealing from the house of a local corrupt guild boss. The grand prize waiting in a safe downstairs: a genuine gold necklace just begging to be free. Problem is another thief (TransF, me) had the same idea and was already trying to crack the combination on the safe. The combination you already have.

This story would be centered on the rivalry/friendship/romance of two thieves in a smelly city. Think of the cities depicted in the Thief series of games: vaguely Victorian with some minor steampunk and supernatural elements. My character would be a career thief just like yours and would initially be very territorial over "her" city. Of course down the road our characters can realize that together they can pull of much more lucrative heists together while watching each other's backs. With police always on our backs and our own hubris threatening to pull us into the grave can we find love in the damp hell of cobbled streets?

Futuristic

Dark Days Ahead

Summary: The apocalypse is here. The governments of yesterday have collapsed and billions have died. Humanity now lives in isolated self governing communities or as nomadic wanders pilfering through the remains of what once was. Your character (M) is wandering around the abandoned remains of a city and decided to sleep in a vacant apartment. They wake up to find another wanderer (TransF, me) searching through the cabinets you searched through the night before and ignorant of your presence.

It's the end of the world as we know it! For this idea it would center around a pair of nomads surviving by pilfering through the remains of America. I personally don't take the egoist view that humans would naturally turn to selfish barbarism, because in real life disasters we've seen many more people help their neighbors and form groups to survive (that's kinda how we evolved to be). To that end this won't be an apocalypse where the dominant instinct is to shoot on sight even if most introductions are still held at gunpoint. And you'd have to be very stupid or starving to risk shooting someone over a can of baked beans.
While the human danger is not as severe as most apocalypse media imagines the reason the world ended still threatens us. Is it zombies? Aliens? Cryptids? Maybe the reason everyone says 'hello' while looking down the barrel of a gun is because sometimes a person looks human, but really isn't.
Our characters would come together in interest of their survival and become friends with benefits. After all life is unpredictable and most porn was on computers that only work on functioning power grids. My character has her reasons for choosing the life of a scavenger. Maybe yours has a debt he needs the potential quick cash of scavenging to pay off? Maybe he's also looking for things that can't be found in the relative safety of sedentary survivor communities. Maybe he's running from something?
Either way this setting is meant to be a sandbox to explore.

You're Supposed To Be A Super Soldier, Right?

Summary: Project Hussar has created some of humanity's most effective super soldiers. Well, when they're not in the hospital that is. Apparently one Hussar (M, you) can't seem to end an operation without 'needing' to go into medical. It might have something to do with primary doctor (TransF, me) attached to his unit.

For this story you would play as a super solider in the far off future who has a massive crush on a particular doctor. This doctor, who is specialized to work on the super soldiers, is frankly irritated by it. She knows you're exaggerating injuries most of the time just to see her because you only seem to get them at the very end of an operation when it wouldn't matter and seem to make a miraculous recovery any time someone else actually needs my attention. Not to mention, you're never actually that badly hurt.

Regardless of the fact that your bones are stronger than solid steel, your muscles genetically engineered for maximum efficiency, or your nerves cyberneticly augmented for inhuman reaction speed there is one thing she keeps overlooking: your heart. Well not your actual heart, that one is fine and still thumping along powerfully. It's your emotional heart that flutters.

The diagnosis: A chronic case of Lovestruck.

The prescription: Dinner at 7 in the canteen.

Monthly Bump

Added a few new ideas whenever they would come to me. Mainly from the various shows anime I was watching while trying to get used a night shift schedule for my new job, which was changed to day shift at the last minute. Such as Komi Can't Communicate, The Great Pretender, Little Witch Academia, and Romance Killer. There's also a bit of Halo in the super-solider story which I just finished the second season of (the live action show).

I think I have some more ideas rolling around to add in April. I have an idea for a "Magic School" type idea to play on ideas like Harry Potter and Little Witch Academia. Currently i'm thinking of either some sort of teen romance or more likely a romance between two faculty members. After then, something where one of our characters are undead, maybe a Frankenstein's Monster type situation. On the mundane end i'm thinking something involving gang drama like Yakuza.
