Dragons are wicked beasts to be sure, razing cities and plundering their riches, when not simply devouring whole villages. And by such measures, they often amass great wealth in gold, silver, gems and magical items, hoarded away deep in the caves they favor. The older the wyrm, the greater the treasure and the longer they lay upon their fortunes, the stronger spell of greed grows on the piles of riches. So strong can this essence from a hoard be, that slain serpents often get the last laugh, as the so called heroes fall to dragon sickness, turning upon one another in black hearted betrayal, so that they alone can claim the treasure.

Of course, dragons are hard to kill anyways, covered in scales, stronger than threefold steel, with claws that can rend plate armor and fang filled jaws, which can bite a horse in half. Add to such formidable natural strengths, their eyes are said to hypnotise and their voices can lull the unaware. Not to mention, that in addition to their natural magics, dragons can weave spells of great and terrible power. More often than not, those that seek to slay a wyrm, merely donate their worldly possession to the dragon’s treasury.

These things are all well known. What might not be known, at least not beyond half believed rumors, is that some dragons, the males, do not kill every adventurer that attempts their life or treasure. Mostly human and elven women, although some dragons have a taste for other races, are spared, should they fall under the dragon’s spell. Once weakened, they are forced to mate with the dragon, either using their bodies to pleasure the drake in his natural form or after the wyrm transforms himself into a humanoid. The dragon’s seed, once she has tasted it or been filled with, begins to corrupt her spirit, even faster than the gold. Her desires become both for the carnal pleasures that the dragon can provide and to protect the hoard.

Long has it been, since Kyloth, the terrible red of the Skybreaker Mountains, had such a thrall and his cravings are growing.
