Hey, all; Recently, I've had an idea inspired by anime like Blassreiter and Gantz.

The synopsis: In a vaguely Japanese city, hideous demons emerge at night to prey upon the weak. The only one who can stop them is the coincidentally all-female demon-hunting team, XAT, an acronym I'm admittedly still working on~ Armed with high-tech weapons and equally high-tech combat suits, these girls venture forth to bring the demons down, according to instructions from the mysterious Control...

Of course, sometimes, the girls fall afoul of demons, too. And sometimes, when the demons falls afoul of the *girls*, the girls have other plans in mind...

Here's some picture inspiration:

http://gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=1174467

Specifically, I'm looking for guys to play the horny, *very* masculine demons the girls go up against, and girls to play the women of the squad, who might or might not be successful. I'd be playing one of the girls myself, probably someone like her~

http://www.gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=361410

And, as is compulsory, the sexy bridge bunny/AI of mission control; There's no reason *why* she can't get in on the action later, of course- Maybe a virus 'attacks' her virtually, or she simply decides to join in the fun~

http://gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=281145

For power levels, the girls have big, big guns, skintight nanosuits that increase speed and strength...And that's about it. You can carry a melee weapon if you *want*, but I'd like to stress that all the girls are human, in this game...That's part of the fun. -_^

As for the demons; They're *demons*. Vaguely humanoid as best, and bestial- You're not going to be an achingly handsome bishonen in this one, guys, or anything that could be mistaken for a human form. Think orcs, ogres, minotaurs, and along those lines. Some have powers, but most are simply physical as all hell...More than enough to overpower any girl of the squad.

For some strange, *strange* reason, the girls are advised to take the demons alive when they can, for study. The demons *want* to take the girls alive, too, to bang them senseless, and possibly breed them.

I know how hard it is to maintain a game, so I'm thinking a *small* group for each episodic 'session'- After which players can drop in and out as required- After all, it's a *big* organisation, and there are lots of demons out there. I'm really looking for one guy to narrate the overall story, though I won't mind providing exposition as one of the characters, and the AI girl~

I'm really looking for 2-3 more female players, and most likely 1 - Maybe 2 male narrators...

Alternatively, I'd be happy to run this as a solo, too.

A possible opening:

The first words you probably heard was some variation on, "Clean up the Disaster Zone! Do new and interesting things." It was 2157 and in the Nova Humus Consilium--or New World Council--the gigantic bunch of people, ten thousand all told representing an equal fraction of humanity they came to an overwhelming decision. Something had to be done about the Disaster Zone situation. Only seven years ago the brave fight against mysterious monsters had been raging in pockets around the world, things that provided a terrible fight to the armies of the world government.

Bullets were somehow merely ineffective. It did not matter if it was coming out a sweet plastic rifle, strong and capable in your hands. Flechettes, pellets, hollow point, full metal jacket, soft point, kevlar coated, even with explosive mercury nitrate tips seemed unable to do the trick. Enough bullets and you could kill anything, but emptying twelve or fifteen magazines into one of these monstrosities was too much, often depleting the load out of group of soldiers before they found themselves horribly dismembered, viscera lying like so much chaff before the wheat. The Disaster Zones would start with perhaps four or five monsters in a single urban area--that was the awful part, they seemed to propagate in areas with the highest population density--and soon spread to millions terrorized and displaced by horrible monsters that made short work of people, doing awful things to their bodies with fist and fang, tentacle and claw.

At the highest level of the military apparatus heads rolled in successive attempts to find a solution while the public scrambled with a sudden world wide displaced population spilling over onto the rest of the populace. Crime certainly spiked, as did joblessness as the great hubs of businesses came under fire. Bombing runs were out of the question--valuable infrastructure needed to be preserved. Over the last seven years the Disaster Zones have been reclaimed, slowly, inch by bloody inch, with Jakarta, Sao Paolo, London and New York City and even Mumbai coming back into the grips of the people. Soldiers rolled into the area in the tens of thousands, their blood washing the area. Slowly a response formed, the "Clean Up The Disaster Zone" media campaign taking full force.

Everyone was invited to find work renovating the Disaster Zones, injecting much needed work into the economy. It also gave people something to fight for, becoming wildly popular, as people signed up to join the federally controlled organization, getting the chance to travel around the world on the government's dime doing good. A highly regarded position, and they will accept nearly anyone and find a place for them, regardless of background or experience. Not necessarily fighting the monsters--construction and education were the two biggest sectors employed by the government as part of the campaign, though a new plan had been drafted in cooperation with the clandestine and military branches. They sought to form special teams, hand picked from the pool of applicants, as well as pulling strings in the world military to attract some skilled participants.

In the end a crack team of fighters, exclusively female, some drawn from civilian and others from military backgrounds were selected. They were separated into different groups, often assembled ad-hoc based on mission parameters, and given generous salaries to match the risk that they faced. They went a surprisingly quick training regime, encompassing largely basic physical conditioning with training on how to use the new weapons and equipment XCITE--Xenomorph Counter-Intrusion Taskforce--had just developed in their sprawling and definitely zany R&D department. The standard load out was the skin tight suit made of a nanoscale mesh, it fit so smooth it was like a second skin, as well as absorbing and redistributing most kinetic damage, to the ability of being able to take a .45 caliber bullet in the chest with no other armor and minimal bruising. That was the test to instill trust in the armor. The most common sidearm is the experimental KE pistol, a sleek silver gun, light with no recoil, that shot pure bolts of force at these monsters. KE guns kept a small supply of a very powerful tranquilizer so that once the monsters had been sufficiently damaged they could be dropped and captured alive.

Capture and study was the number one priority of XCITE. Not many of the plethora of monsters had been captured, scientists somehow attempting to devise a way to get rid of them en masse. They seemed immune to most nervous gases, large scale explosions were out the question, it took a tranquilizer that would drop a whale to drop one of the monsters and then only when it had been beat on for a while. However the monsters seemed less keen to kill women for some reason and the advantages that the Mesh Suit, their armor, bequeathed upon them in the form of increased speed, strength and reaction time was a great advantage that could make someone without military training a top of the line soldier.

The biggest Disaster Zone was the island of Honshu, formerly of Japan, which had eventually been all but completely taken over by Tokyo by 2120. It had until recently been home to over sixty-five million people, over seventy percent were displaced at one point, creating history's largest single Diasporia, even rivaling the slave trade for the rate of people displaced in a given time. Many of those were also killed, many of those who survived lost every last penny, and still others found themselves in strange places far from home, unable to be around friends and family due to economic and regional constraints. These Disaster Zones had caused a great strain on the world and it was the duty of XCITE to ease that.

Of course, they had no idea what lies in wait...

If I wasn't currently devoting energy to an RP I'm developing, I would totally want to portray the antagonist.  ::drools::

That's a real shame- I'd love to play this as a solo, if there isn't more attention. -_^ Keep me in mind if you free up~!

Wintercat

I could give this a try, I know Gantz but I am not familiar with the other example you mentioned.

Interested on the DM side of things that is. Though I imagine that you'd very much prefer someone familiar with both of your examples to bring out the most of the setting hmm?

Still, let me know how things turn out, I'll try and keep an eye on this.

I'd certainly love to hear what you might have in mind- The latter series is rather obscure, and really isn't quite as important. Mostly, I just like the look of it. ^_^ Feel free to drop me a line! Haven't had many other players, yet, but it should be fun to try this as a solo, too...

Meliai

I haven't seen/read either of the series inspirations but I really like the concept. If that isn't a problem I'd love to play one of the girls :-)

No offense to you Wintercat, but I do not believe you'd be quite up to snuff for a DM position my friend from past experiences with ya.  You're a good RPer though, and if allowed I'd be interested in RPing with you in this if our gal here allows guys to play gals and vice versa lol.  If you need a good DM, while I know nothing about the two animes you've gotten this idea from, I know a couple of possible comparisons that this reminds me of.  Those being the more hentai oriented Angel Blade, Twin Angels (although I can't find all of them on the net,) and La Blue Girl a bit as well, among others of the same ilk.  Anyway, I love fantasy in all forms, and sci fi mixed in seems fine to me.  Count me in as either your DM or another gal about to get her brains turned to a puddle of sexual goo lol.

I'm quite interested here too, I could try DMing though it would be my first time... or I could just play some monsters, or I could play a girl, though some people do have problems with that...

Wintercat

No offense taken Vergil, I have taken my try with a number of games in the past, some work out well, some don't turn out so well. I love exploring ideas that are interesting, but if you have an interest in this and think you'd do a better a job as a DM, I have no real reason to put a fight over it. Just expressed my interest since it is sounding curious, and with a game like this I'd rather DM or Co-DM than sit on the player side. Not that I have anything against that either, but especially with an inspiration like Gantz, I prefer the GM side.

I got my share of ideas for the concept since I was a fan of Gantz since the beginning though. Gantz's driving force felt like it was in the fact that there was no 'heroes fortune'. Things were rough, tough, and you did what you had to do to survive. Many never survived their first fight. Some managed to scrape through, and some had dreams of surviving to the very end. In the end, the series was rather horrifying for those who grew attached to the characters, but in a way, I loved its sense of 'nobody is safe'.

I think that the same spirit of dread lurking over the shoulder is fascinating for a game too, and can be put to good use. Anyhow, I'll hope to hear your thoughts on this before I'll go writing more.

Well Co DMing wouldn't be bad since you know more about Gantz than I do lol.  If she allows it I'm sure she wouldn't be against having two or even three people help out with DMing this thing for her.  Who knows right?  In any event, if I do get the job or not, I'd be happy to have you along Wintercat in any capacity.

Seems to be a lot of interest in this from guys at least :P

Wintercat

Seems its upto Iridium and what she wants then.

Ground line-up though, a game follows a 'green' team of XCITE members who are given Mesh Suits, KE-guns, mainly pistols and rifles under experimentation. The said team is charged among 6 others to begin the preparations for clearing a beach head into the disaster zone of Honshu, delivered on-site by military transport, a small number of naval vessels waiting away from coast serving as a base of operations.

The general details of the campaign would even be public, an attempt to restore hope and establish the promise that the XCITE can change the world for the better for humanity again.

Then imagining that information feed gets severely censored along the way as the XCITE needs more and more members. Old ones are suspected dead, or worse. Figure the 6 teams that start out, there's going to be 1 team of player characters, and 5 npc teams at first, but who knows the NPC teams might slowly get their asses handed to them, or alternatively try and outshine the player characters (establishing possibly rivalries but meh, the PCs are in a far better spot to outshine them).

What happens out there, stays out there... If a team member is captured, but later saved from the situation or manages to free herself, there might be a bit of comments within team but these being people you work with, that you have to trust your life with, I imagine that they got one another's back both in protecting out there in the DZ, but also off-duty.

Then it'd be just a question whether you want to include GANTZ-like lethality values as well, team-turnover, or if you want to rather include that failure is followed by a raping in the hands of a monster or several, and escape is possible later on? Different styles of play, just wondering.

^ That sounds like a good general overview. Certainly waiting for more female players, though.

Laughing Hyena

Ghostraven

If your still looking for players I'll give it a try as one of the girls on the team.  :-)

Eliza

I'd like to play as as one of the female demon-hunters as well.

TheGlyphstone

It looks like you've got no shortage of volunteer GMs, and I don't know the source material anyways, but I'd be up for guest-volunteering as a demon or two as well if desired. ;D

Vaulera

I would love to play a female character if room is still available.

iridum248

There certainly is! So, thus far we have:

Vaulera
Eliza
Ghostraven
Meiai

...Which should more than round off the team. Five people is a nice, round number.

Now to find a DM...

Meliai

Hooray! Glad to see this getting off the ground.

It looked like most of the guys were alright with sharing the villainous spotlight and there's been five of them so far, is there any reason they can't all play monsters? Maybe with one designated leader sort in the official DM roll in case of conflicts? That way you could swap out monster players in later "episodes" the same way you set the girls up to work.

Alternately, we could lock all the boys in a room and make them fight to the death >:D

In the mean time, could we get a profile skeleton so we can start hammering out our characters?

((( By the way Ghostraven, your image link is broken. Danbooru has hotlinking disabled so you'll need to link to the page itself instead of the image or host it elsewhere )))

iridum248

Mmmm, you certainly have a point- I'd have to consider that! Here's a profile skeleton, as suggested:

Name:

Age:

Physical Description/Picture:

History:

Area of Expertise: (What role do you fill? Are you the Point (Wo)Man? The sniper? The CQC specialist?)

Motivation/Goals:

Motto:

Meliai

W.I.P.! I'll finish the history and motto later and fix the undoubtedly numerous spelling/grammatical errors

Name: Molly McConnell

Age: 20

Physical Description/Picture: {Picture (nsfw)}
Molly has deep red hair, brown eyes and rather pale skin. Standing around 5'9" she has long legs and a trim waist, offset by an impressive bust and broad hips.

History: Molly was raised by a single mother, one of many children in her generation who lost a parent to the demonic invasion. Though Belfast never fully fell into the hands of the creatures, at the height of their power in the area they held nearly two thirds of the city and Molly's father was one of the many men and women who were killed or captured in the long, bloody battle to retake the city. Growing up she idolized her father and the other soldiers, but was never terribly athletic. With the nanosuits yet to be invented, she figured she had no real hope of actually getting to fight the creatures. Instead she poured herself into her studies with borderline religious devotion. Breezing through school, she graduated from college at age 18 and was quickly snatched up by the R&D department of XCITE operating out of the reclaimed portions of Belfast. Just a few months later the city was finally cleared of demonic intruders, somewhat to Molly's chagrin.

After a crash course in Japanese she was transferred to XCITE's Honshu division and assigned to the team studying the rare demon specimens brought in alive. Things were rather unremarkable for nearly two years, until the day a research assistant failed to properly secure one of the creatures. While the team was occupied by their experiments the demon began to shake off his sedatives. In an instant the creature snapped the improperly secured straps holding him down. The doctors within arms reach thrown bodily across the room, and an unfortunate female researcher nearby was snatched up by the creature. He failed to notice Molly across the room as he stripped the girl's clothes away. Quickly and quietly Molly slipped from the lab, sprinted down the hall to retrieve a weapon and had the creature sedated again before the security team even arrived.

Area of Expertise: Scout/researcher, can act as a field medic in a pinch. Quinn's speed and stealth capabilities are her greatest asset to the team, but she considers her primary goal to be gathering as much information as possible when bringing in a live specimen isn't an option.

Motivation/Goals: Demon eradication, though deeper down Molly just wants to live up to her father's name. 'The Fight' as she calls it has pretty much consumed her life since she could string together enough coherent thoughts to understand what was going on, to the point where it has eclipsed every other aspect of her life. Though in truth she's quite lonely she has a tendency to drive others away, sometimes intentionally, sometimes not. Social skills were never a high priority for Molly and spending the vast majority of her free time in study never gave her much of an opportunity to develop them anyway. She tends to be terse and a bit unfriendly but she's unfailingly loyal and would dive onto a grenade (or, as the case may be, giant rape-happy monster) to save a teammate.

Motto:

I'm on the fence about her appearance. In addition to the red haired model (nsfw) I'm also considering this one (here's another, probably nswf pic of the same girl) and this blond/white haired one (and another shot of this one). I like all 3 so I'll probably take the lazy way out and let our monster players pick :P
    {{A/As updated 5/8}}

TheGlyphstone

I'll go for redheads any day. :D

So, Monsters, how do we go about this? Form a 'Council of Evil', maybe, each of us having a different 'master demon' form with thematically appropriate minions?
