error when quoting in threads

When I am using the IP address vs domain name and I am already in a thread, if I refresh and try to quote, then I get the following error:



If i leave the thread and reenter fresh then I can quote normally

Unfortunately fixing that for ip addresses broke notifications. Not really willing to provide a half-fix on a site like this, and I think my efforts are best spent on the new cms.
