Greetings and welcome to the Crescent Veil Apartment Complex! This place was created for creatures of the veil who wish to live somewhere safe. Be you beginners or a veteran who just can’t find anywhere to settle in the human world. You are all welcome here and are encouraged to relax in your natural form. However, you must also be aware that there are certain house rules that I expect everyone to follow. Failure to do so will result in termination of your lease and instant ejection from the premises. If you have any concerns do not hesitate to contact security. (They are available 24 hours.) I hope you are satisfied with your new home and get along with your fellow neighbours. Yours Faithfully, Isaac Sankale. (Landlord) Terms of your lease 1) All leases are month to month. Only after a tenant has been living in the complex for at six months will the landlord consider negotiating long stay contracts. 2) If you wish to end your lease prematurely then you must give at least two weeks notice. 3) Pay your rent on time, unless you get a special extension from the landlord. (Exceptional circumstances only!) 4) All bills and utilities are included in the monthly fee. 5) Any damages done to your apartment must be paid for, with interest. 6) All apartments must be kept relatively clean. Failure to do so will result in a fine. Repeat offenders will be given warnings before having their lease terminated. 7) Any visitors to the complex must have background checks prior to entry. This is to maintain the safety of all residents. 8) No antisocial behaviour, this includes but is not limited to; loud music past a certain time, criminal activities, and usage of powers to harm others. 9) No feeding on residents. 10) No exorcising residents 11) No activities deemed “illegal” are allowed on site. 12) No usage of powers, unless you are given explicit permission to do so or it is an emergency. 13) If you have any concerns about fellow residents or the complex then contact security or the landlord. Do not try to solve them yourself. Failure to comply with these terms will result in severe consequences. Details After watching a few episodes of“Elegant Yokai Apartment Life” I figured it would be interesting to try my own little spin on it. So here we are! Basic premise: After the success of my character’s nightclub, his father decided to pass on ownership to an apartment complex that had been in disrepair for a long while. He did not give details as to how it came to be in his possession and Isaac didn’t care to really question it either. He simply saw it as a way to expand a business idea that had proven very beneficial to both the human and monster realm. Thus, after investing a lot of his own free time and money he has finally finished renovating and has opened the place for one and all to live. Providing they agree to the terms of the lease.  The building itself has a gate that only allows residents in and out. The place is also protected by a magical barrier that keeps the residents safe and able to just be themselves without outside interference. However, once any monsters decide to leave the grounds will no longer be protected and will have to rely on their own methods to hide what they really are. (Spells, enchanted items etc.) Humans who live here will also enjoy the benefits of being protected from unwanted spirits or people who may do them harm, plus there is the added plus of living with some interesting people. To those who are not welcome on the grounds a sense of pure dread and danger will overwhelm their senses. Only those truly daring to challenge the wrath of the owner would dare step foot there otherwise. The RP is set so all player characters live in the apartment complex and go about their business as they wish. (Providing they do not break any of the on-site or game rules!) Any and all plots are welcome, as long as they are too ridiculous. Pretty simple really. Rules 1) No OOC drama. It is a total buzz kill. If you have any problems take it to pm or contact one of us GMs. 2) Post at least once a week. If you are unable to do for any reason so please inform the group or pm a GM. 3) No two liners, please. We want at least one paragraph. 4) No Godmodding or MetaGaming. You can only do these things if and big IF the owner of the character has given permission to do so. 5) If you need to leave or go on Hiatus, tell the GMs, no need to leave your partners in the wind. 6) Images to be used are to be anime style only. 7) You must research the age of the character you would be using as your face claim. Due to E rules, all images (anime included) must be a character/person that is 18 or older.  If you end up using a character that is under 18 you will be getting a pm from site moderators. 8) Characters in-game ages must be 18+ 9) Most Importantly Have Fun plotting with your partners. FAQ:

1 - What part of the forum will this RP be in?

I have decided to put it in Bondage: Exotic Small Groups. To quote the header "Games of less than 1000 posts on multiple threads involving sex consensual with bondage and include nonhumans (such as furries, beasts, tentacle monsters, etc.)" If I am honest I don't see the rp going into non-consensual territory but I would like to cover our bases when it comes to other kinks. 


2 - What is a “creature of the veil”?

Basically, it is a random term we came up with to cover the whole range of monsters from different universes and such. Be they from the Shinto religion or H.P. Lovecraft. All races are welcome.


3 - Where is this set?

A Modern day, seaside town in the human realm.


4 - No. I mean where in the world is it set? Like US/Japan?

Nowhere in particular. While we are using anime themed stuff it doesn’t mean that this rp is purely in Japan or the US. Aka we didn’t give it much through and didn’t think we should have given a real-life location. We might give it its own island type thing at some point but for now, it is open interpretation.


5 - What currency is used?

Dollars and cents. This is because, despite the fact that they are US/Canadian/Australian currency, they are globally recognised and used in most mediums. (Including anime, manga, and sometimes games.)


6 - Why does a number of humans and monsters even matter? This place was made for mainly monsters, right?

I did put in the description that this was for both monsters AND humans. We decided to have a limit on a number of humans so they didn’t outnumber the number of monsters, however, that seems to have backfired a bit. When we thought about the limit we thought it might be a bit silly if it was meant as a haven for monsters and almost none were there!  There is also the issue of if there are no humans and just monsters then the concept will get stale quite quickly.


7 - Are humans aware that monsters exist?:

Yes, they certainly are. Humans know they exist, however, by this point sightings of them are rare. What they are NOT aware of is who the monsters are, hence them hiding in a human form and appearances of their normal form being rare. The monsters work in the same fields as a human but no one will be the wiser. The complex will basically be one of the rare few places in the town where the monsters can relax in their natural form. The other being a nightclub that Isaac owns. (In fact, it was due to the big success that inspired him to make this place as it is.)


8 - Are humans aware that this place is for monsters?

No. It will be a surprise for them to find out that they will be living with the monsters. Isaac has performed a background check on everyone before they have arrived and before he has considered offering any contracts. This check has given him an idea of whether or not your character would be compatible with living there without informing people on the outside about fellow residents.


9 - How can Isaac know things about people before they even come into contact with him?

Let's just say that Isaac has been around long enough that he has gained an information network of sorts. You can't exactly be in his line of work and not come across challenges for territory, ownership of property, dominance and such. Fortunately for him, he has usually come out of said dodgy dealings with satisfactory endings that rarely result in violence.


10 - Why isn’t Isaac’s nightclub in the location index?

We want to start off with a limited amount of threads so we don’t spread ourselves too thin. If we hit big game status then we will make his nightclub a place that PCs can go to.


11 - What if my character breaks any terms of the lease?

Depending on which terms your character breaks will depend on if you get given a warning or if you will be asked to leave the game. Both Loupe and Isaac are in-game characters that don't just weave the story but also do our bidding as GMs. If you break any rules then your character will be approached by either to give you a warning or to evict them from their apartment.


12 - Section 11 of the lease says "No activities deemed “illegal” are allowed on site." does that mean my character can do law-breaking things OFF site?

As far as Isaac and Loupe are concerned; what happens OFF the grounds is none of their business. If your character brings it to the complex then they will not take too kindly to it. Example: If your character breaks into someone's house and steals a bunch of stuff - that is fine. They bring said goods back to the complex? Out the door and to the police station they go~


13 - How will I play my character if I want to put them in their apartment?

Currently, you create a thread that is in the same part of the forum as the rp is taking place and tag it [CVAC]. You can play out whatever scenes you like in there.


14 - What does the apartment look like inside?

They will be shown an apartment that has nothing there but a view and some empty rooms. However, each contract contains every detail residents have given him (or his brother) on what they want to be done with their space. All that needs adding once it is done is for them to put their belongings there.

Name: Loupe Sankale Age: Sixty-eight (Appears late 20's) Gender: Male Orientation: Complicated (Virgin) Race: Fiend/Incubus Appearance: A handsome, tall man with wavy, dark hair and a mole under his left eye which appears to be in his mid to late twenties. As a human, Loupe is a light-skinned man with brown eyes. While on the job he dresses casually, sports stubble on his chin, and wears thick glasses that obscure his eyes and hide his distinctive mole. When he partakes in the high society associated with his brother, Loupe, he dresses formally. Loupe is initially a heavy smoker, so the smell lingers. Personality: Unlike his little brother, Loupe's isolation has resulted in him having dual personalities, he refers to, respectively, as two sides of one coin. On the one side Loupe goes about under the guise of a scruffy slacker who cares very little about the trials and tribulations of life. He is carefree, but mischievous, and has no problems tricking people out of their money and even clothes using card games if it will end in profit. Though he would like to feign some pride, he is not above accepting what he can as long as it doesn't involve too much humiliation. His other side, though, is heavily influenced by his time isolated, especially when his emotions are riled up. While his darker side is prevalent, Loupe's speech and mannerisms become much more refined; he dresses well and carries himself in a more dignified manner. He is still a bit laid back, however, his moments when he is not as proud, and at times he uses his refined behavior as a means to tease his others. While like this Loupe also becomes much more sadistic and enjoys using his power in creative ways, notably by tormenting his younger brother. He is not indifferent to psychological torment neither as he only does this when told to do so by his younger brother. Keeping these dual personalities from bleeding into one another seems to be difficult. While it appears that it appears he cares for others, Loupe himself has confirmed having his two sides present in his conscious mind at the same time 'is what makes life so interesting'. Loupe doesn't have a split personality as many expect instead the two sides of him are very well aware of each other and what they do. He's seen a friendly person, easily sympathizing with strangers and joking around. He is far from susceptible, letting the others tease him and acting as a cool brotherly figure while he tries to maintain a dignified persona. Occupation: Security for Crescent Veil & The Stroke of Midnight History/Background: It's not as if Loupe wouldn't talk about his past, yet he isn't able too. Most of his past ripped out of him for his past transgressions but some of it still there swimming in the bottom of his mind desperately trying to reach the surface. There have been times when a fragment makes a splash. In frantic moments he goes to write it down, but its nonsense. Loupe was born 1949. His mother birthed him in the mortal world; his mother told him that his father had died when he was twenty-one; his father a mortal. An obvious lie. Loupe's mother knew from the look in her child's eyes a fire which would consume him as he became of age. During his teenage years, he got to witness various events that shaped his outlook on the world. The Sixties which brought the Cold war, Bizzare music, Drugs, Civil unrest and the death of two great men. Was this what God wanted? The cruel mistreatment of his creations. If that was how he did things that he would follow what he thought was best. Even without his mother's consent, he left home. As he went to explore the world seeing everything it had to offer his brother had been born into the world. Starting his spree roughly at twenty years old it continued for another twenty years. Using his powers for his means like any 'monster' would with such power. Driven solely by his desires Loupe sewed disorder and chaos. It was in Bosnian in the early nineties he'd finally met his father. Now in his forties upon recognizing the man as his father and wondering why he would show him up after so long, Loupe figured it was to reel in his son from further shaming himself. He was imprisoned, for twenty years in an abyss. His vital body begins to freeze from the near-absolute-zero temperature, and he becomes trapped in the void for what felt like an eternity. Unable to die even though he wishes for it, he eventually stops thinking. Not like that even matters now...  in his late sixties, he's finally been freed from his confinement from his father under the condition that he stayed with his younger brother. It took Isaac an entire year to get Loupe to eat, speak, and even dress properly. His personality reblossomed even though it too was fragmented partially. Likes: Various games, Music, Gambling, Twix candy bars, and Learning things about himself and others Dislikes: Doing a lot of work, Annoying people, Being embarrassed by his shortcomings, and their father Character Ons: Unknown Character Offs: Unknown Player preferences:Either Other notes: Most of his powers have been sealed away leaving him enough very little to use as a punishment. The only one he retained was extra-sensitive hearing and uses this ability in many useful ways. He can track targets or hear conversations from hundreds of meters away. Can hear the other's heartbeats and tell their emotional states as a result, or fluctuations to tell whether they are lying or not. He can even differentiate one's footsteps from another, enabling to determine the number of people in a crowd while picking out the sound of one's footsteps, for example, in a city. His hearing also enables him to ascertain the skills of others from the sounds they make. Just like his younger brother Loupe Sankale is not his name. His real name has stripped from him along with his powers, and one-third of his memories.The only ones he has of his brother Isaac and some of his mother and father. The rest is hazy and cause him a headache.

This habit, however, has made her a very avid learner and thus she had worked hard to become a straight A student back in her high school years. The shy girl is a budding lesbian, though she's never had an actual relationship. That doesn't mean she's completely inept in terms of sexual knowledge though, as she bares a secret stash of yuri doujinshi which she reads when alone and sexually frustrated. Thus she is a large romantic and very much a submissive. She also tends to have a large attraction to taller women and those that have motherly frames.

The pair had fallen in love the moment they met and the human (Hirako) saved her final wish for one important thing; carrying the child of her wife-to-be. While the result wasn't a complete djinn child, her magical potential was still quite potent. Either way, she was raised by two loving parents. Her choices to study magic as soon as possible were greatly encouraged by Sahara, though Hirako made sure she knew not to abuse it. Thus, her school years were even harder as the other students weren't exactly fond of the meek lesbian nerd with two moms. In order to avoid this happening after she graduated, the caring couple directed the shy wallflower to live in the new Crescent Veil Apartment Complex that was opening up.

Your character doesn't need to be a contract killer. There can be numerous ways that a Dullahan can be integrated without requiring to be in that field of work. Black just stretch your imagination a bit, and you'll see what he can be placed in.

I know you like to play shy characters and such but I honestly think someone who is super shy and easily upset won't survive very long in a house full of monsters. So could I suggest you try to branch out a little when you play her?

Name: Isaac Sankale. Age: 43. (Appears early 30s in human form. Late teens in his normal form.) Gender: Male. Orientation: Omnisexual. Top. Race: Oni/Mononoke. Appearance: - Human form: He stands at 6.7ft, has a strong build with defined muscles, pale skin, hair is short jet black, eyes are golden and he wears an eyepatch due to an injury he sustained in this form. He is often seen in a business suit and rarely in casual attire. Monster form: Same as above but his skin becomes tanned, hair changes so it is long crimson hair that flows to his rear, his eyes are amber, he has pointed elf-like ears and he has two black horns protruding from his temples. The tattoo on his body is a seal that was put on him by his father so his powers would be limited. After all, Mononoke are powerful things when angered and he didn’t want anything bad happening while his son was in the human realm. Personality: Isaac has an intimidating presence. This is mostly down to his serious nature and shrewed attitude towards business. He rarely loses self-control but this is mostly down to the pain his runes cause him if he becomes too rilled up. Because of this, he tends to approach all situations with an eery calmness that makes even the strongest demon second guess their intentions towards him. He rarely opens himself up to anyone as he learned not to trust anyone from an early age. This makes him come across as aloof and ruthless with his actions. Yet despite this, he has shown that he does have a caring and compassionate side. (Mostly to those who have proven themselves loyal to him.)  When he has warmed up to someone he will make light conversation and is even known to be playful. While Isaac has had many bed partners, he has never really had a serious relationship. He doesn't see the point; to him, it is just another opening someone can exploit. It was made evident to him in both the veil and human realms that they are very similar in that respect. As a partner, he very passionate and quite dominating with a bit of a sadistic streak. However this doesn't stop him being quite the generous lover. Occupation: Nightclub Owner and Landlord. History/Background: Isaac tends not to talk about his past to anyone as he sees it as irrelevant to anything, plus it would give away that he is a demon! However, the details of his recent past are easier to pry from him. (If asked nicely~) It was only after he agreed to certain conditions (Like having his powers sealed) his father allowed him to venture into the human realm to do his own thing. And not having full access to powers is a very big price to pay. He was twenty when he entered the human world and decided to study how business was done. He was more than well versed in the veil version of things but was more than aware that things work differently in the human realm. While attending various courses that dealt with business, economics, finance and law, he also worked as an intern at different offices. He chose the role as an intern because he knew humans were good at lying and would terminate his employment over the most trivial things once he was seen as a threat to the ranks. Not that it bothered him. (Severance pay was always generous not to mention it helped build a nice client base.) At the age of twenty-five, he opened his nightclub “The Stroke of Midnight.” He felt like there was nowhere in this town for monsters and humans to interact without issues of discovery. The club is kink-themed and all walks of life are welcome there. What better place to relax and socialise than a place where no one would suspect that monsters were not in outfits for the sake of it? Since it has been open, he dealt with many different types of troublemakers. It didn't matter if they were human or not, both were as bad as each other in his eyes. But the battles with both swords and contracts has made him somewhat feared in the criminal underworld. Unfortunately, his last encounter with the local mob over last dispute ended rather... messy. Now at the age of "thirty," he gained ownership of a derelict building and expanded on the idea and purpose of his nightclub. The only downside to his father giving him ownership of this building was the condition that his older brother live and work there once he was released from punishment. Even though he hadn't seen much of his brother he decided to give him a second chance in the human realm, on the condition that he also has his powers seal. (Fair is fair...) It took a lot of string pulling, money and most of his free time but he has managed to make a second place for monsters to be themselves. However, this time they will be able to stay at home while gaining the experience of interacting with humans. Likes: Coffee, jazz, loyalty, taunting his brother when he is clearly already embarrassed... Dislikes: Troublemakers, breaking of contracts, general douchbag behaviour, dealing with his bitchy brother when he has just woken up... Character Ons: Pillow talk, teasing/denial of release, toys, light bondage and discipline,  Character Offs: Doormats, clingy and needy people, gore, vore... yucky stuff. Player preferences: Other notes: Isaac Sankale is not his “true name” but an alias he has adopted since being in the human realm. Only his father knows his given name. His powers come from feelings of violence and destruction but the seal upon his body stops him being able to act properly as his instincts demand. It took a few years but he knows his limits in terms of negative feelings. If provoked too much then the seal will begin to cause him pain. If he tries to use too much of his powers then his seal will start to glow as it enforces the spell upon him and inflicts pain accordingly. Only on two occasions has he used his power to the point where the runes have bled. The pain was so much that he vowed to never push himself like that for anyone again.

To be honest, the only things I've really copied from one of my previous profiles is the usual name and picture I like using and a bit of the personality description. However her "true" form is that of an amorphous slime creature, molded into an imitation of a human maid. Almost too demure some might say, as her calm, serene smile is almost completely unshakable, regardless of how dire or depressing the circumstances. In fact despite being one of the longest occupying residents, no one can actually recall a time her mood has dipped below a patient sigh. While it's unclear if this is just an act or if she's literally incapable of portraying anger or sorrow, her intentions are usually very benevolent. She enjoys serving and easing the burdens of others, though this can sometimes manifest in...slightly unsettling ways. It is clear from conversing with her for any period of time that her eldritch nature does not stop merely at her appearance, and her views and perspective on things can seem quite strange to humans and even other monsters. She has a great fascination for Earth and all of it's beings, and loves discussing and learning about various cultures and histories, though sometimes her wonder can too closely resemble a child observing animals in a zoo rather than someone taking in the culture of an equal. One of the ideas I'm playing with was a doppelganger, powers of mind reading and shapeshifting (occupation of perpetual student) and I figured it'd be amusing to have the character shifting to various forms based on mood, whatever she's studying, the desires of the person she's talking to, and various other things.

I've never seen the anime in question, though, so maybe this idea doesn't fit what you're going for.

I think Isaac would allow it under strict conditions. (Such as not mimicking certain things or using it to invade privacy.) If he got one complaint about how she was using her powers then he'd probably have words with her about it.
