Looking for a patient GM

Hello! I'm looking for a GM for a game in a setting like Gangs of New York but in modern time. Just imagine the second amendment taken away and that would be the setting. All fights would have to be dealt with melee arms.

I don't know the plot yet, but any ideas are welcome. I imagine something as simple as the main character settling in an abandoned building, only to be found out when the building is used by a gang to torture someone. It could be very short. The game span could last just the one encounter, or it could be that the main character ends up meeting with boss of the gang after several encounters.

To the more important stuff - I am COMPLETELY new to RP'ing. I used to play some table tops a few years ago, but I've never played with GURPS (only system i'm familiar with enough to assume that it would work well in this scenario) or any other system that this kind of thing could work with.
