An American Ransom

I have taken this idea from another thread. The member who originally came up with the idea is no longer on the site, and there were quite a good number of people interested. So I took it upon myself to create the game, rather than have such an interesting idea go to waste. (I have copy-pasted this post from the original thread. I don't claim ownership of this idea.)

Haves

Simply put, this roleplay is about the haves and the have nots and what happens when a group of have nots orchestrate a master plan to screw over the haves and their privileged progeny. You know the Vanderbilts, the Bush's, sons and daughters of corporate wall street barons, crooked judges and sellout pocket politicians,  the fucks who've been running the country into the ground for the last 40 or so years and will likely hand over the reins to their kids to do the same. It's time to give these smug elitists a dose of their own medicine.

Have Nots
These are kids who don't have a lot of money, but they are smart, resourceful and have a huge chip on their shoulder. They also got a failproof plan. The perfect recipe for a kidnapping ransom plot. The make-up of these kids are as diverse as their ideologies, temperaments and methods, they may come from different households but they share a common interest, getting filthy rich.  They seem to work as a cohesive unit in spite of these differences. A common enemy helps to unite, I suppose.

For some their motivations could lie in the pay off, some want revenge,  others are driven by principles and ideals of justice,  others are in it for the "fun" and some are just sick fucks who derive pleasure in tormenting captives.

Plot
Basically with this story, the game will take place in New Orleans during Mardi Gras weekend.  The ransom kids and the privileged kids are about the same age range(20-27),  the ransom kid have been studying the rich kids for some time so they are well acquainted with their marks,  they approach them at a masked theme club, the ransom kids pretend to be other rich kids and invite them back to their place for a house party, except there is no party.

They're walking into a trap. They tie them up and keep them as hostages at their undisclosed cabin , that's when things become real. One of the ransom kids suggest that they make sexting tapes with the privileged kids and send it to their parents to let them know they mean serious. You can see where things go from here.

What I'm looking for in this game is a group to play the privileged kidnapped group(4-5 players) and a group to play the ransomers(4-5 players).

I'm thinking that the kidnappers should use Card motif's(king, queen, ace, jack, joker, etc) to refer to themselves by because using their real names would be really dumb.

The Priviledged

Name/Alias: Mayumi "Mayu" Kojima

Played by: persephone325

Age: 20

Sex: Female

Role: Hostage

Personality: Mayu isn't the normal "rich snobby bitch" type. Though she might seem that way to people who don't know her. Underneath that stereotype, is a very friendly and kind girl. She can be bitchy and assertive if need be, but she doesn't like the way it makes her look. When it comes to her friends, Mayu is fiercely loyal and dependable. She has no problems putting herself in harms way to protect a friend.

Background: Mayu's parents are business partners. They own several businesses in New Orleans. Though Mayu doesn't approve of their of running things. For too long she hasn't had a say in what they do, but soon she'll be able to take over. Once she turns 21, her parents are retiring and giving her the reigns. Ons/Offs: Persephone's O/Os

Name/Alias: Rachel McGuire

Played by: minerva7790

Age: 19

Sex: Female

Role: Hostage

Personality: Rachel is self-assertive and confident. Despite pampering from her rich parents, Rachel is not spoilt. She finds her parents' constant mollycoddling irritating and wishes her parents would grant her more independence. After all, she is already an adult at 20.

A young woman who is sure of what she wants and is not afraid to get it, Rachel's enemies see her as bossy and demanding. Teachers have constantly told her to learn to watch her tongue, but Rachel has never seen the point of mincing her words. Such a personality has made Rachel a strong debator but a poor diplomat.

Background: Rachel's father is a senator. Rachel doesn't know what exactly he does, and she doesn't care, because politics isn't her thing. Senator McGuire had always secretly felt a sense of loss that his only daughter did not follow in his footsteps. His wife, on the other hand, is glad to have brought up a strong daugter. A housewife herself, Mrs McGuire has always been subservient to her husband and family's needs. She sees Rachel as a second chance at living her life, and in some way, encourages Rachel's strong-headedness.

As the only child, Rachel has always been given everything she wanted, but Rachel has always scorned her parents' over eagerness to give her a sheltered life. Although she could have life easy drinking and partying her parents' money away, Rachel believes in being a self-made woman. She is now in college studying a business degree.

Ons/offs: Clickie!

Name/Alias: Aiden Devereux

Played by: TeacupTwink

Age: 19

Sex: Male

Role: Hostage

Personality: A charming, sweet and sincere socialite. He's caring, an advocate against animal abuse and very loving. However beyond that are a few more things. He's confident, passionate and perhaps a bit competitive when it's a battle of opinions. He's intelligent and feels that people who are unintelligent probably shouldn't speak on certain subjects.

Background: The son of a decently well known actress, model and advocate against animal abuse with him. She's a charity raising power house and it doesn't hurt that his father is a well known judge either. Aiden is to say the least, wealthy with possibly too much to know what to do with. His family owns a house and two vacation homes. A boat and several cars. He's well off and set for college and his future. He's remained partially out of the spotlight and tabloids outside of a select few he actually wanted to be in for campaigns but, is known by famous people. Though daily people don't know who he is, those within a certain community know him well. Having donated to many of the organizations that his family owns.

He's also an amateur singer and song writer, however he keeps most of his work in the studio and in small lounges or clubs that are barely known though he'll perform at a friend's event or one of his mother's friend's events if asked. He's described as a charming, breathy and sensual sounding dance track. His voice though not gritty or raspy, holds a certain boyish charm that is somehow still holding a certain masculine sexiness to it that has become quite the panty dropper.

Ons: Hair-pulling , name calling, racism, degradation , humiliation, recording / photography, s&m,  bondage, double penetration, multiple partners, being face fucked, giving oral,  cock and ball torture, size & age difference, male partners, voyeurism , exhibitionism, gags, blindfolds, water sports

Offs: mutilation , electric play, burning, overly sick shit involving large amounts of blood, scat.

Extra Pictures

Name: Percival Alexander Benedict Asquith-Godwin V

Played by: Birchleaf

Age: 22

Sex: Male

Role: Hostage

Personality: Percival appears extremely arrogant to all around him. He is rich, handsome, and talented, and not afraid to let you know. This is probably why he has no friends at all. Strongly anti-social, he is capable of being charming, friendly, and manipulative when he wants to, but he almost never does. He is good at almost everything, but does not usually have much patience so rarely masters anything. His insufferable exterior conceals a desperately lonely and sad interior.

He is very stoic, most of the time, with heavily restrained manners and an inability to emote. Sick to death of flatterers, gold diggers, insincere friends, and vapid socialites, he is bitter, cynical, and withdrawn.

Background: Percival comes from a very, very long line of the rich and influential from across the Western Hemisphere. His blood is bluer than that of most kings, many of whom he is related to. No one knows how much he family is worth, but with accounts and properties, cleverly tax-evaded, across  the world and stocks in most major companies, it is probably a substantial sum: the Asquith-Godwin's are not merely one percenters, they are in the top one percent of the top one percent.

The only child of the head of the family, Percival received the best education and private tutors that money could buy. He quickly showed himself a worthy recipient of the family name, excelling at academics, music, sports, martial arts, finances, anything and everything required of him. He attended Oxford University and recently graduated with a Masters in Historical Analysis. Most outside analysts consider him a worthy heir to the prestigious Asquith-Godwin name.

With a pedigree like that, it is little wonder that Percival Alexander Benedict Asquith-Godwin V Esq. MA & Etc. is a proud, miserable person. From a very young age he had enormous pressure put on him by his parents and teachers: with even the tiniest failures harshly punished. Many of his peers ran wild or rebelled against their domineering yet distant and uncaring parents, but he instead drew farther and farther within himself robotically fulfilling expectations. Now he merely goes through the motions, feeling as if his life was largely pointless. He knows that he is nothing but another Asquith-Godwin to continue on the family legacy, even his name is just the fifth Percival Alexander Benedict. Everything always came easy to him, which actually leaves him with an inferiority complex. After all, if nothing he has was hard to get, none of it is worth anything.

Ons & Offs: This for the most part. What turns me on IC and OOC may be different, especially because I am playing a rather egotistical character.

The Ransomers

Name/Alias: Johnny Stokes AKA King
Played by: Consortium11
Age: 26
Sex: Male
Role: Kidnapper
Personality:

“Who are you calling jealous?”

Some called Johnny Stokes an intellectual. He could certainly quote philosophers, economic theorists, social thinkers and hell, even pop culture if the circumstances called for it. Some called him a rabble rouser. He certainly could raise a crowd and give a convincing speech full of passion, intensity and occasionally humour. Some called him a revolutionary with iron principles. And he certainly could talk the talk, ranting and railing against the status quo, against the 1%, against the bourgeoisie, against the system itself.

So they were all right... but all wrong.

Because at his heart Johnny Stokes isn't an intellectual. He isn't a rabble rouser. He isn't even really a revolutionary, let alone one with iron principles.

He's just an envious bastard.

That's the key you see. He hates the system not because it's unfair in principle but because he's on the wrong side of it. He hates the rich and the privileged not for some deep or moral reason but because he's not rich or privileged. He gives empowering speeches not because he truly believes but because it makes people truly believe in him. To those who observe him he may appear to be a fanatic for his cause of equality and justice but the reality is he's only a fanatic to one cause... himself. He simply clothes himself in the language and appearance of a modern day political anarchist. If he was on the inside of the privilege bubble he'd be its most ardent defender, justifying his own luxurious existence by any means necessary. But he's not, he's on the outside. And because of that he'll hurt anyone inside it. By any means necessary.

Johnny Stokes may not be what he portrays but what he is is a dangerous man. He's bitter, cruel and cunning. He's vindictive and angry. He's happy to use people... and abandon them if necessary. He delights in tormenting and humiliating those he dislikes. He'll die for his cause... but his cause is Johnny Stokes and how he can improve his lot in life.

Background:

"Here's the thing they don't tell you about dreams. They're exactly that. They're a dream. They don't really happen. And then you wake up and life's still shit and you're at the bottom, shoveling it."

They called it “the American Dream”. That each person could come to the land of the free and drag themselves up by their bootstraps. Could make something of their life. That the only thing stopping each and every person from being a millionaire was their own lack of talent and their own laziness.

It wasn't the American Dream.

It was the American Scam.

Because Johnny Stokes had watched his dad work in the port of New Orleans for his entire life, earning an honest wage but barely more than was needed to cover the bills. And then he'd seen him lose his arm in an industrial accident, seen the paltry settlement they'd received quickly disappear on medical care and bills. He'd seen his mother work three jobs just to keep food on the table... and still barely manage it. He'd seen the cancer take his father and remove any vestiges of the man that was left. And he'd seen his mom fall to drugs and alcohol till she was just a shell who one day simply gave up and faded away. And then he found out that the home he'd thought was his wasn't his at all. It was the banks. He'd lost his family. He'd lost his home. But he'd started to find himself.

Johnny had always been smart. He'd picked things up quickly, done well in school. But there was no money to even contemplate college and you try making a kid who's losing his parents concentrate on the books. Even worse when he then had to work any dead end job he could find simply to keep his head above water. He'd tried to struggle on when his parents died but there was no end in sight, no pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. What future was there for him? What chance?

So Johnny dropped off the grid. When it seems there's no options left there's always one and Johnny fell into that. Petty crime, dealing drugs, running with gangs. In his early 20's Johnny was yet another statistic, nothing more than another “lost child” for some over paid talking head to lament about while picking up their generous salary and not really giving a damn.

But one time, picking pockets at some big gathering, Johnny had heard something. He'd heard someone talking and while in the process of lifting a girl's purse he'd looked up to see someone speaking. They spoke of justice and fairness and fraternity and how they were being kept down, about how the system was wrong. Frankly Johnny didn't really care about what was being said... it was all obvious anyway. What he cared about was the way people looked at the speaker, acted around him, treated him. That was somebody. Somebody a man would want to be.

And so Johnny began to reinvent himself. He didn't just steal electronic goods, he started to steal books. And he didn't just spend his evenings lost in a casual blur of cheap drink, cheaper drugs and even cheaper women... he started to read and to learn. And slowly but surely, Johnny Stokes petty thug started to disappear to be replaced with Johnny Stokes, man of the people, revolutionary thinker... anarchist, communist, environmentalist, feminist, socialist... any “ist” he could find that fitted into his cause.

And you know what... he was good at it.

First he showed up to events. Then he started to speak at events. Then he started to organise events. He could hold his own in a debate with anyone on an intellectual level or simply abandon all pretense of serious, balanced discussion in favour of ranting and raving. Whatever was needed. He may not have been rich but he was respected and he used that respect to benefit himself wherever possible. Gone was the cheap drink, cheaper drugs and even cheaper women to be replaced with drink, drugs and women... not great but no longer cheap. He wasn't sleeping on floors or sofas anymore, he had an apartment, albeit a dingy one in the wrong part of town. He'd done fairly well for himself and the future, such that it was, was pretty bright. He wrote well and spoke better. Someone would have given him a real job doing that.

But it wasn't enough. Not for him. He was still on the outside of the system. And if he couldn't get in, he'd tear it down.

It started to come to a head the more he spoke at college events. He was popular there... a young, firebrand speaker who could whip the crowd into action and then do shots with them afterwards. But more and more Johnny started to see the very people he despised. The privileged, the elite, so entitled that they didn't even realise their entitlement. And the worst thing? The worst thing was that they pretended to care. They listened attentively, cheered when he wanted them to cheer, booed when he wanted them to boo and afterwards told him how “totally unfair” it was that the world was this way. All while living in a penthouse apartment Daddy paid for while wearing clothes that cost the same amount as it would have taken to feed a family of four for six months. Johnny didn't care about feeding the family he of four, he just cared that he didn't have that money. And he realised he had become a performing monkey for these people, someone who they listened to so they could feel good about their lives, so they could pretend they cared, pretend that they weren't part of the problem, pretend that they were different.

And that bitterness just grew more and more.

Until now.

Because Johnny Stokes had a plan to show those haves that they were not so different after all.

Ons and Offs: Consortium11 O/O's. In general there are no real hard "offs" if the plot calls for them.

Name/Alias: Kale Taylor, Queen

Played by: Frelance

Age: 23

Sex: Male

Role: Kidnapper

Personality: Kale is avoids the spot light never wanting the attention it brings but if he is forced into it he will do his best to present a strong front. His attempts to go unnoticed are the last traits of his extreme shyness that haunted him through life until he overcame it in the turmoil of college life in his later years.
To outsides he will come off as distance or anti-social but once he starts to open up he will not hesitate to speak his mind no matter how controversial his opinions are. This has lead to him breaking a few bones after he spoke to freely after one activist rally or another. He took this in stride and just made sure he always left the bar before he finds himself in the middle of another fight.

Background: Kale's mother worked as a waitress at a local restaurant and as a cleaner for a local company but even with both jobs they barely had enough money to scrap by. By the time he was twelve he was working at the restaurant with his mother after school and continued until he graduated from high school. The hours he worked varied as he got his hands on his first computer and slowly at first he got his first taste of computers. By the time he graduated high school he had established himself online in the hacker community. The establishment in the community that gave him the chance to better his life and live the American dream.

His crimes started off as simple credit card fraud which turned out to be as simple as camping out on a downtown street and scanning RFIDs in credit cards as people walked by then selling the information online. In the space of a few years he moved onto infiltrating smaller corporations and research companies. Then selling the information on the deep web.

Once he had saved up enough to get him into a college down in New Orleans for a computer systems technician degree his online presence trickled down to almost nothing as he found his courses more than enough to hold his attention. By his second year his savings were depleted and he found a job at one of the college bars. It was while working there that he started to meet the activists and the more he listened to them the more he resent the 1% that had everything he could never hope to achieve. As time went on he started to attend more and more of the events. This meant he had less time to work at the bar so he fell back onto old habits by coping credit cards and selling them online. He started off by just hitting random people but he soon started to target the kids of the 1% that attended the events.
It was after one of the events that he followed Johnny to one of the college bars. Having not known each over to well back when Kale was just starting out and Johnny was a street thug. After a night of drinking the two started working together and since then their partnership has become a strong friendship.

Ons/Offs: Frelance's O/Os

Name/Alias:Katie Madison AKA Ace

Played by: Elvenkitten

Age: 19

Sex: Female

Role: Kidnapper

Personality: Katie is unpredictable, she can seem like a really sweet girl one second and a twisted pschopath the next. She is intelligent and seems to be skilled with computers. She is obsessed with sex and may be sleeping with one or more of the kidnappers, she will likely be more interested in the female hostages

Background: Katie was one of the privileged until her father was arrested for fraud. With her mother being dead she had to go live with her uncle, who was not a pleasant man. He would beat her on a daily basis telling her she was a filthy sinner. Her rich former friends no linger wanted anything to do with her and she found out that her fathers boss had framed him She found out her father had hung himself and something snapped, she managed to escape stealing all the money from uncles bank account. She got revenge on her former friends by using her new skills to take their money and frame them for various crimes

Ons: Rough sex, light bondage, biting, cuddling

Offs: Anything that belongs in the bathroom, submissive males, bestiality, blood.

Name/Alias: Dominic Kane (Joker)
Played by: Google
Age: 27
Sex: Male
Role: Kidnapper
Personality: To try and nail down Dominics personality would means getting to know the real Dominic and that is something that many people think they have been able to do but few have actually come close to. The way he behaves can seem to change based on moment to moment, it is rare to find two people who have the same impression of him.

At his core he is a psychopath, having little to no interest in the feelings or interests of others but instead adopting as many different masks as are needed to ensure that he gets what he wants. Deep down he is not the sort who is easy to anger, normally having a great deal of control over himself except on those rare occasions that things don't quite go according to how he planed it out. Though he works to give others the impression that he is usually working off the cuff or just making it up as he goes along he is actually always trying to stay one step ahead, observing and trying to take into account every possible variable...

But when unexpected things happen he can loose his cool very quickly.

Most of the time though he does his best to ensure that he is perceived as a charming son of a bitch by everyone he likes, blessed with a charisma that makes him likeable and more importantly often makes people want him to like them.

Background: His past is one of the many things that Dominic is not very open or honest about, he has a variety of different stories that he draws from rather frequently if he is ever question about what he has done, carefully blended together truth and fiction to gain trust or sympathy from those he is dealing with.

In truth he was raised by his father, a con-man who traveled around the country constantly, never staying in one place for very long and teaching his son everything he knew about how to take advantage of others to further his own needs. Of course his sense of morality was a little warped by this particular upbringing and even after his father had saved up enough money to settle down Dominic kept traveling about the country, doing what he loved and looking for one particularly big score that would give him the power to walk away whenever he liked... though in truth he isn't sure if he would chose to walk away.

Notable tricks of his past involved living on a major college campus and using a meal card for an entire year without once being enrolled in a class, seducing the soon to be bride of a wealthy man and then blackmailing her over the course of several years and of course stealing a variety of very expensive cars by posing as a valet (sometimes selling the cars and sometimes just joy riding them and ditching when he got bored)

(The descriptions listed below are just ideas. Feel free to change them, or come up with something different all together.)

King - TAKEN; The ring leader. Basically put together the whole idea for the kidnapping and ransom.

Queen - TAKEN; Possibly the King's best/good friend. Supported the King's idea and helped make it happen.

Jack - OPEN; The enthusiastic kidnapper. Seems a little too excited about the how ordeal.

Ace - TAKEN; The brains. A smarter kidnapper who knows how to do illegal things without getting caught.

Joker - TAKEN; The wild card who possibly joined at the last minute.

Ideally, I would like 4 hostages and 5 kidnappers. That way the bad guys outnumber the good guys, but not by much. Most situations like this make the phrase "Strength in numbers" quite accurate.

Also, I would like everyone participating to closely examine the O/Os of the players. This game will include NC, violence, kidnapping (obviously), possible bondage, and possible M/M or F/F.

If a players lists one of the above mentioned criteria in their OFFS, then IT WILL BE RESPECTED! Personally, I'm not too fond of F/F with another player I don't know very well. So I would steer clear of such situations.

Likewise, if another player is turned off by bondage I would do everything as GM to make sure they aren't exposed to said bondage.

So please don't think that you'll be exposed to everything in this RP. Most of the time, the kidnappers will take the hostages one by one into another room to carry out their plans.

EDIT: For the kidnappers - Different people may apply for the same role. The choosing is not a first come; first serve basis. Roles will be chosen based on which character fits which role accordingly. So do not be put off if (for example) you applied for the Ace role, but you end up being cast in the Queen role. Or applied for King but end up cast in the Jack role.

Please be flexible!

Just posting to register my interest to play one of the have-nots/kidnappers (possibly the King role but I'm flexible).

I'll work on a character sheet and hopefully get it to you shortly.

Frelance

I will put my interest in an will be working on a CS in a few hours. I am going to make a have not, possible a Queen, Jack and maybe the Ace. I guess I will decided which I want most once I am finished the character.
Evolution is an arms race

persephone325

I'd like to state for any interested parties, that not all the kidnappers have to be males. (Though I understand the term "Queen" has more of a female inclination.) Hell, I wouldn't want them all to be males! I would definitely like a female or two, so please feel free to submit a character. ^^

I am also not opposed to one person playing two characters, as long as they can play them both equally. That might be the case, unless we get all the roles filled by different people.

I am thinking the same thing for the hostages but in reverse. It would be nice to have a mix of guys and girls in both groups.

Yes. At the moment, we have 2 girls and 1 guy. If the max we get is 4 hostages, then I would like another male character.

(Player sex is irrelevant!)

I will be putting up an OOC thread once we get another kidnapper role.

If you want, instead of being a male kidnapper I can play a female. As long as I get to keep my guy I already submitted as a hostage. I don't mind playing a dominant female taking advantage of men.  ;)

I only want you to do that if you feel comfortable with it. And I recently received two more kidnapper character sheets. Consortium11 is looking them over as well, since he has the role of King.

If you wanted to make a kidnapper, I think the Jack role is the only one that hasn't been applied for if I recall correctly.

Once you know what you need because I don't know if some have to be turned away or what. Whether the kidnappers are female or male, ect.  Once you know I'd be glad to take up the filling spot. :]

I would really like to play as a kidnappee if there is room. I understand that you have three on each side right now? If there is room, I will submit a sheet for a second male privileged. I was thinking of an apparently stereotypical arrogant rich kid that is actually far more complex than his snobby appearance indicates.

Unless I hear back from you that there is no room for a fourth Privileged, I will submit a formal sheet via PM before the end of the day.

By all means, please submit a character! ^^

We have one kidnapper role left open, for those interested.

Please PM me and Consortium11 with your character sheet! This game will be starting once that role is filled!

Would it be best for male or female? I'd like to know before I try and submit, that way I don't throw off the balance or can even it if possible?  :-(

Well I would like to see if anyone else was interested in joining, before I let you have the last spot. ^^ If no one replies by tomorrow, then I'll let you have it. :-)

Mkay ;) -- I'd rather have someone else take it actually.

Oh! As it stands, we are completely equal with the male to female ratio. 2 female hostages and 2 male hostages. 2 male kidnappers and 2 female kidnappers (including the one pending sheet which should be coming soon). So I don't mind if the last spot is taken by a male or female character. ^^

Well, that is sad. We can hardly start when the kidnappers outnumber the kidnapped.
