Congratulations, class of 2017. You have completed your first big step into a greater world. You've laughed. You've cried. You've forged ever-lasting memories. Or you've snickered at the melodramatic sappiness of the valedictorian's speech, having spent the last four years eagerly awaiting the last day you'd see some of these fools again. Some of you only moved here recently, and the friends that you cherish more than anything feel as if they're an entire world away. Many of us will be heading to college in the next three months, ready to begin the next big step in our journey. Others are sticking close to home, earning credits at the community college, or attending a trade school. Others are already working, preparing for full-time careers in positions our guidance counselors seemed all too eager to steer us away from.

We have one last summer together. One last summer to ask that really cute crush out. One last summer to say the words you've always been too afraid to say. One last summer to make things right or to settle old scores. A lot can happen in those three months. Maybe you'll injure yourself, kissing that football scholarship -- and with it college -- goodbye. Perhaps all of your future dreams and visions will be interrupted by an unexpected pregnancy. Maybe you'll get so wasted you actually run over someone, or find yourself cradling the body of a friend that has succumbed to alcohol poisoning.

It's just three short months. How will you spend your summer?

- As written by Capone

What Are You Talking About?

This is meant to be a coming of age, more serious, slice-of-life, down-to-earth story. Think The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Sixteen Candles, etc. with perhaps a mix of seriousness along the lines of Boyz n the Hood, Rebel Without a Cause, American Graffiti, or Dazed and Confused.

In other words, instead of just being a story about teenagers trying to get laid, it could be that and a serious drama between teenagers at a tough time in their lives. One that is fragile as glass, dreams ready to be shattered by sudden and unforeseen circumstances. From the light-hearted denial that, once you split to different colleges, your relationship is bound to end to wanting to have no regrets and even to fucking up your chances.

This won't be an escapist fantasy story of "I wish high school were blah". I want something that resonates. That's nostalgic for those that are no longer teenagers and would seem relevant to those that have recently graduated high school themselves.

So What Sort of Players Are You Seeking?

Ideally, fairly literate players capable of writing about 3-4 paragraphs or more, depending on the necessity (sometimes all you need is two paragraphs, after all). Well thought out characters that have goals and ambitions beyond getting laid. These will largely be middle class kids, so no one is going to be rich. There may be upper middle-class kids whose parents can buy them a car and lower middle-class kids who have two part-time jobs in order to help their parents pay the rent, but no individual character will be wealthy.

Players will need to be respectful of others at all times. There is no "who started it" should a conflict break out. Players should be able to work together and help craft background connections with each other to help make these characters more real. It's inevitable that players will be drawn to working with others that they know, and that is fine. But please do not form cliques out of character and do your best to reach out to other writers. That is part of the beauty of a group game.

Submission of character sheet is not a guarantee you will be approved. As the vast majority of characters will be those who are graduating, all characters will either be 18 or 19.

Setting Details

Greenfield High School, with a senior class of 183, 157 of those students successfully graduating, is the pride and joy of the small mid-west town of Greenfield.  Little happens in this rural town that doesn't center around the high school.  During the fall, football fever nearly consumes all, with the Fall Carnival and Halloween Festival the only reprieves.  The Christmas season signals a changing of the guard as the town rallies to support the basketball teams, followed by baseball in the Spring.

While sports may fill Greenfields' social calendar year-around, the high school offers plenty of after school clubs, and intellectual pursuits; including Mathletes, a robotics club, and Academic Decathlon teams.

As for the town itself, Greenfields, USA!  It's a rural town located in the mid-west filled with assembly-line houses, and inconveniently located far from anywhere a teenager would want to hang out.  Main street has a diner with hours from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., a few Mom and Pop type shops, and a Super Walmart which only opened seven short years ago.

Those with cars usually travel to Glenn's Hill, a town twenty miles away.  Home to Greenfield's nearest rival, and the Hill Valley Mall - a pretty standard American mall, and the best these kids can get - the Green Grass Shopping Center equipped with a GameStop, Sunset Tanning Salon, Dairy Queen, Dragon Sky Chinese, Domino's Pizza, Dollar Emporium and Bobby's Billiards. There is also Warren's Warehouse, a Goodwill style outlet. Lastly is the Neon Serpent, a rave/nightclub that's 17+, but only serves alcohol to those that are over 21 -- 17-20 get a yellow neon wrist strap to more easily identify those who are underage.

Documented teen crime is relatively low in Greenfields, though with so little to do in the neighborhoods plenty of teens smoke, experiment with drugs, and have had a number of intimate relations.  While there have been issues of teen pregnancy, friends lost in drunk driving incidents, and other such problems, there has been no real epidemic of such issues.

ABOUT: Roxanne also known as Roxy and at times Foxy for her enjoyment of calling herself a fox and all those she plays with as rabbits, is the third child of 5, and daughter of a State Prosecutor mother and writer father. In order to nature of her father's work it was concluded that her father be a stay at home dad working on his novels while their mother brought in most of the money. Life wasn't strict but carefree and supportive which gave birth to Roxanne's carefree personality and ability to move wherever the wind takes her. She worked hard in school not because she needed to but because it was something to strive for and give her purpose.
Her personality resembles that of a fox, clever and somewhat mysterious as she is pretty, pretty good poker face that you never know what she is thinking until you've stepped into one of her traps. The face she shows to the others is not necessarily the face she shows when no one is looking. She tries to keep herself out of the spotlight especially when she is up to no good.
During her Junior and senior year, she had the pleasure of being made student council president, and with making and completely her honor classes was awarded as valedictorian  as well as making the Dean's List for her school.  Her speech would have been one to leave her feeling proud and misty eyed.
What comes next in her life is left to be written, she takes each day as if it was a new start, and with it fun and exciting adventures. Before she leaves for the University she wants to enjoy her summer to it’s fullest so she leave her hometown with some great stories and overall amazing memories.

MOMENTS OF GLORY: Helped the girl’s basketball team come back from a 30 point deficit and sealing the win in overtime with the game winning three pointer shot from half court. The team won the Championship that year.
After prom, getting her toes wet, by enjoying her date up against a grand oak tree under the stars. She could still see claw marks she left behind.

MOMENTS OF SHAME: Running late for a class after having a little fun in a janitor’s closet, fell down the stairs, and ended up kicking some guy with the heel of her shoe right in the balls.  She spent a few days making it up to him.

BIGGEST REGRET: She can't say she had any. She doesn't regret any of the choices she made.

STORY ARCS: Spontaneous fun and getting into trouble.

NAME: Damian Clark
AGE: 18
HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 6'0 / 92kg
HAIR COLOR: Brown
EYE COLOR: Blue
DISTINGUISHING MARKS: Tattoo on his left shoulder of his family crest.

BEST KNOWN FOR: Football and Foreigner.
PLANS: A full scholarship to a university based on his football skills. He is looking at studying physiotherapy while there.
DREAMS: Damian is a sport fanatic. He is a natural, often being able to pick up a sport and play it well. He is hoping to go pro with his football, if not he would like to become a physiotherapist to stay in the industry.
CAR: KTM 250cc XC-W Motorbike
PARENTS: Damian is extremely close to his parents. Every big moment in his life was affected by them in one way or another. They were the cause of him moving around Africa as well a the reason why he ended up settling in America. They had a brilliant relationship and his mother and father will still deeply in love, something that Damian wishes he could find some day.
HOME: Damian stayed in a modest home in Green Acres.
HOBBIES: Damian is a budding athlete, often playing football, soccer, racketball or baseball. He has a natural hand eye co-ordination that allows him to pick up most sports and excel at them. He is also good at school, often passing with a mid range B grade without having to study. He is also an avid gamer, spending many weekends playing xbox online.

ABOUT: Damian was a foreign student. He was dragged around Africa for most of his life, schooling in places such as Sierra Leone, Zambia and Malawi. His father was a charity worker, often moving every 3 years. When Damian turned 15, his father decided that more priority needed to be placed on Damian's schooling. They moved to a first world country and enrolled him into a decent school, where he had been for the last 3 years.

Having moved so often, Damian found it easy to fit right in and find new friends. He wasn't arrogant or cocky as such, he was just confident, not shy and found it extremely easy to speak to almost everybody. Coming from some small villages at times, Damian didn't really have a click so to say, he was sporty, academic as well as nerdy at times making it easy for him to get along with every group.

Damian's main focus however was football. Damian had played football all his life throughout Africa but it was never quiet as competitive as it was in the States. When he arrived he was used as a bench warmer with his talent being seen. His second year he was used often as a reserve but by the time he was in his final 2 years he had cemented his place in the first team, often getting the attention of some scouts. At the end of his senior year, Damian was offered a scholarship to a nearby college Unfortunately a week later he had his scholarship declined due to his citizenship. Damian was not an American citizen and therefore did not qualify for scholarships. This was only noticed after he received the offer. The only way for him to get his dreams was to marry an American citizen, fun as that sounded, it wasn't something that had presented itself yet, or live in America for another 2 years. This means he would have to wait 2 years before attending collage and putting his whole future life on hold. His parents could not afford university without the scholarship unfortunately.

Damian was no class suck up however, often getting into trouble for being mischievous, pulling practical jokes on the teachers and principal, almost getting expelled a few times when things went wrong. Damian was also at any party imaginable, drinking even though he was underage and dancing the night away, only getting home in the early hours of the morning.

MOMENTS OF GLORY: The day he was offered a scholarship to university based on his football skills

MOMENTS OF SHAME: A week later when his scholarship was revoked after having told the whole school he had gotten it. He then had to go around telling everyone that congratulated him that it was no longer available.

BIGGEST REGRET: Damian poured everything he had into sport and school, pushing himself hard to get what he wanted but now looking back at it, his biggest regret is not foucusing on love, finding a steady relationship or girlfriend at school really was something he looks back at and wishes he could have done better.

STORY ARCS: Romance. Now that school is over, Damian is looking for that one special person. Having let Gwynn slip away during school, he will be looking at rekindling that. Damian will also be looking at another way to get in university and getting his scholarship again. It could be with a few legal documents or maybe marrying an American citizen to get his residency.

la dame en noir

NAME: Isis London Richardson
AGE: 18
CLIQUES: Band(Cello Player) - Nerd(Video Games/Comics/Reading) - Popular(Her incredible looks)
PLANS: University
DREAM: A famous writer
CAR: None - She likes to bike everywhere

HOBBIES: Music(Composition, Listening, and Playing), Writing/Reading, Illustration, Video Games, and Designing(clothes, costumes, and programs)

ABOUT: Isis doesn't have a very colorful life. Despite her good grades, looks, and talent - her home life wasn't anything would assume she would have to go through. While her parents were well off and had the finer things in life - she wasn't exactly a spoiled child. Jonathan, her father, was a plastic surgeon - bringing in most of the money to the household. Tiffany, her mother, was abusive. Tiffany had goals for Isis at a very young age - fame and fortune. Isis grew up a prodigy in many different art forms; dance, music, and programming were just a few. Tiffany wanted to exploit that talent for popularity. For years, Isis would practice into the late hours of the night with her mother never caring to give her a break. If that wasn't the worst, Isis found her mother cheating on her father while he was away on business. Despite all of this, Isis went through school with impeccable grades and a level head - as leveled as it could get.

While her home life was never the best - Isis never had a poor attitude for what it counts. Isis was undeniably one of the nicest people anyone could ever hope to run into. She always has a positive outlook on life, not once letting her home life effect her work. Isis is incredibly smart and observant. She doesn't get mad very easily, but its been said that she does live with severe anxiety. The only time she does not go through its effects is when she's at home. Isis is an attentive and helpful person. Sexually, she has never been with anyone and hopes that changes one day.

MOMENTS OF GLORY: Winning a young writers prize worth $10,000 dollars. It was a risky young adult novel that got her the grand prize. It was the stepping stone that solidified what she needed and wanted to pursue in life.

MOMENTS OF SHAME: Her private diary was raided through where everyone discovered that she was actually a closeted Lesbian. She was more ashamed that she hid it, not that people found out.

MOMENTS OF REGRET: Never being herself to everyone - always pretending to be the good student who could never do no wrong.

STORY ARCS: Finding her first girlfriend - Doing something rebellious to get her out of her comfort zone(Hard partying - drinking - one stands)

Also, is this game a complete sandbox? Does it have a story going on? Is it a partial sandbox? Etc etc?

Seduce my mind and my body will follow.
Amarlo's O&Os
Absences and Apologies

AribethAmkiir

Hey Amarlo, nice to see your interest.

It's going to be a partial sandbox type of game.  There will be events for the group, such as graduation parties, trips to the lake, outings to the mall, etc. but there will also be plenty of room for player run scenes.

I'm waiting to see what type of characters we get before I plan too much.  Of course, just because an event is occurring that doesn't mean your character has to be there.

I also plan to work with individual players to introduce and produce the story arcs they declare interest in their character sheets.

NAME: Spencer Alvarez Palmer

AGE: 18

HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 5'10 / 195

HAIR COLOR: Black

EYE COLOR: Brown

DISTINGUISHING MARKS: None, unless you count numerous small scars on knees, elbows, shins, and forearms from playing rugby.

BEST KNOWN FOR: Being the guy who transferred in at the beginning of his senior year, for possessing a wealth of useless knowledge, and for being "that rugby guy" who sometimes plays running back for the varsity team even though he doesn't care for "American" football.

PLANS:  Work.

DREAMS: Play professional rugby.

CAR: None.  Sometimes has use of Mom's 1997 Toyota Camry.

PARENTS: Sally Palmer started out life on a farm about ten miles outside of Greenfield, and ran away from home when she was 15.  Eventually getting her life together, she joined the Air Force, met (but never married) Ricardo Alvarez (also in the Air Force) and they had one child - Spencer.  Ricardo was a crew member on a helicopter that crashed on a mission in Colombia - there were no survivors.  Spencer was still an infant when it happened.  Being retired from the service after 20 years, Ms. Palmer has a modest pension and works as a dental hygienist (the skill she learned in the service) at Dr. Morgan's office in Greenfield.

HOME: Old house on an acre of land one mile outside the city limits, which his mother inherited.

Reading.
Running.
Weightlifting.
Hobbies nobody would know about because they're done at home:
Spoiler: Click to Show/Hide
Judo.
Listens to classical music (but not Baroque.)
Plays piano, but is mediocre at best.

ABOUT:  "Spence" is normally quiet and reserved, though he has on occasion cracked a joke at the appropriate time in class. He is respectful of teachers and a bit out of touch with his peers.  On being asked shortly after his arrival, he related he's lived in Washington DC, San Antonio Texas, Ramstein Germany, and at two bases in England - Norfolk and Suffolk. Not fluent, but has some knowledge of Spanish and German. Though he seems to know a little about a lot of different things, his passion is History, and at the drop of a hat can be relied on to rattle off historical facts and how it all ties in together with the grand scheme of the universe.  He isn't "shy" around girls, only terrified of rejection if he tried asking one out on a date.

Spencer wasn't too keen on playing any of the sports offered at Greenfield High.  Though he'd played soccer in Germany and England, he didn't really like it.  He didn't care for (American) Football either, and enrolled in school two weeks after football practice was in full swing.  On the third day of school he approached the coaching staff about playing because he thought practices would help keep him in shape.  His ball carrying ability, combined with superhuman footwork, soon landed him a spot as running back on the Varsity team, but not as a starter.  Halfway through the season, "Sidestep" Palmer was involved in practically every kickoff and punt return, and getting a lot more time in the offensive backfield too.  When football season was over, he could often be seen running along the road in remote areas outside of town, and kicking and chasing an odd-shaped ball around the football practice field when it was not otherwise in use.  He once tried explaining his passion for rugby during a class discussion, but nobody seemed to get it.  "Pearls before swine" he muttered, then resumed his doodling on paper as the discussion veered in another direction.

He never refused to help anyone in class or with their homework, though he has politely declined to do their work for them.  One of the more intelligent students at Greenfield High, Spencer got more "B's" than "A's", due to his inability to focus, and sometimes for simply forgetting to do an assignment.  After football season, Spence worked the rest of his senior year part time at Greenfield Auto doing tires, oil changes, and simple maintenance.  He also attended every girls basketball game (home and away) - for no apparent reason.

He "dated" a few girls, but the dates were usually of the group variety, either at Sunday School outings or at parties where the lines of who was with whom were a tad fuzzy and most hookups occurred after the party started.  If the party got too wild (drinking, drugs, sex) he would find a reason to be elsewhere and politely excuse himself.  Spencer and his mother attend the Catholic church in Greenfield, and Ms Palmer also volunteers one Saturday a month at a free clinic in Glenn's Hill.  Now that Spencer has graduated and is a bonafide adult, his mother is leaving him home alone while she takes a long-overdue three week vacation.  (Unfortunately for him, she's taking the car.)

MOMENTS OF GLORY:  The second day of class, when a bird flew in through a window into the Biology Lab.  Scared poor Mrs Hooper half to death.  (You see, the air conditioner was acting up so all the windows were open.  Normally they remain closed, so replacing screens was a low priority.) Guys trying to shoo the bird back out the window with caps and notebooks didn't do much to enhance the bird's calm.  Spencer calmly closed the door, then closed the blinds to all but one open window that didn't have a screen.  Walking back to the door, he turned off the lights and watched as the bird darted out the open window.  He then turned the lights back on and returned to his assigned table, saying "I don't panic unless I have to.  Wastes energy."

Then there was the kickoff return in his first game, against Springfield.  "Bruises" McMillan had Spence in his sights and was literally flying through the air toward him intent on doing serious bodily injury.  That's when Spencer got the nickname "Sidestep".  Hundreds of people watched in slow motion as Springfield's most potent weapon went sailing past its intended target -- and straight into a ten gallon Gatorade cooler.  Three Springfield cheerleaders were drenched, and one got a black eye (and a skull x-ray) from a flying lid.  Thankfully, the skull x-ray was negative -- which was always useful when someone needed to make a joke denigrating the Springfield cheer squad.

Then there was the final season game against Pine Bluff.  Greenfield was ahead 14 points with a minute and a half left to play.  Instead of trying to run down the clock, Spencer gave in to the temptation to attempt a drop kick from 25 yards out.  The crowd was stunned, the opposing coach was yelling something unintelligable at the officials, and the officials went into a huddle to decide if that was still a legal play.  The local sportscaster on TV-8 said that evening he couldn't find when that had last been done by any high school or college team in the state.  Or anywhere else for that matter.  And Springfield won that final game 27-10.  Though the drop-kick was by no means a game-winner, it did get "Sidestep" Palmer his fifteen minutes of fame (actually, 15 seconds) on television stations across the state.

MOMENTS OF SHAME:  Getting kicked in the balls by a girl named Roxanne.  It was perfectly innocent.  And somewhat painful.  He normally didn't use profanity, and this was the only time anyone would hear him say the word "fuck" -- under the circumstances, neither of the faculty members who heard it thought it was out of line.

BIGGEST REGRET:  Not asking Roxanne out on a date when she was being so nice to him, but there's something about getting kicked in the groin (or the reaction to getting kicked) that just makes a guy a little self conscious in the days to follow.  And oh yeah, attending six different schools in three different countries growing up, having to make a new set of friends every couple of years.

STORY ARCS: Crushing on someone way out of his league.  Working on others' vehicles.  Convincing everyone he isn't interested in college football. Or college. Wishing he hadn't attended so many different schools. Very much opposed to illicit drug use.
What a shame -- The money you spent on those tattoos could have gone toward a boob job.

Should we repost our returning characters?

Yes, please.   The character sheet is slightly different from the old one.  I'd appreciate if could use the new sheet.  It isn't too different, you can copy paste most of it.

Biggest change is the removal of the "Cliques" category and replaced by "Known For" - since the cliques were somewhat of a hurdle in the old game.

GnothiSeauton

NAME:  Leanne Abernathy
AGE:  18
HEIGHT/WEIGHT:  Five feet, nine inches |  130 Lbs.
HAIR COLOR:  Dark brown
EYE COLOR:  Brown
DISTINGUISHING MARKS:  None

BEST KNOWN FOR:  Leanne doesn't belong to one clique in particular.  She maintains friends all across the spectrum of the school's population, and doesn't discriminate against one group or another.  Outside of groups, she'd probably be known for some of her work on school productions' costumes.
PLANS:  Working, and saving money for college.
DREAMS:  Globe-trotting sugar baby  Fashion designer
CAR:  None.  Rides the bus without any shame, or occasionally bums a ride from friends here and there.
PARENTS:  Her mother is a stripper, or was a stripper.  She can currently be found high as a kite at home with her dealer boyfriend.  Her father has never been in her life, and doesn't know who he is.
HOME:  Trailer Park
HOBBIES:  Sewing.  Drawing, mostly of fashion designs.

ABOUT: On the surface, Leanne is a warm and friendly person, always ready to make a new friend or sell some drugs to.  She's hardly ever the person who engages a conversation though, preferring it to come to her.  There are some things in her past and life that she prefers to keep to herself that could be described as difficult at best.

Her home life has been somewhat difficult.  A mother who works odd, late hours, and a father who ran off long ago.  The closest father figure in her life is her mother's boyfriend, who also happens to be her supplier, having her sell some drugs, mostly weed and a few prescriptions, to classmates and the like.

Academically, she did well in school.  By no means did she get all A's, but mostly B's and C's.  Sporadically absent for unspecified reasons, but showed up and did alright.  For more information about her history, see the below sections.

MOMENTS OF GLORY: Once got her third period History class out of a mass detention by sweet talking their professor which may or may not have involved the selling of a few drugs.  It's never really been confirmed.  Also helped save the day during a school play by stepping in and taking over costume design.

MOMENTS OF SHAME:  Apart from one time when she fell flat on her face in the hallway during period shifts, and ended up with a really messy bloody nose, there was a few days when there were rumors that she was stripping at a gentleman's club, but there's never been any actual proof.
BIGGEST REGRET:  Her current career moonlighting as a stripper on weekends.

STORY ARCS:  Open to anything with Leanne

NAME: Jonas Littleton
AGE: 18
HEIGHT/WEIGHT:  Five feet, nine inches - Slim build
HAIR COLOR:  Naturally dark, dyed green
EYE COLOR:  Brown
DISTINGUISHING MARKS:  Green hair.  Gauged ears.  Pierced nose.  Scar on arm.

BEST KNOWN FOR:  Honors Group.  Nerds.  A/V Club.
PLANS:  Flipping burgers, with the occasional freelance computer work
DREAMS:  Software Engineer
CAR:  1992 Mazda 626
PARENTS:  His mother is a real estate agent, his father a restaurateur.  They both live together and are active in their son's life.
HOME:  Green Acres
HOBBIES:  Programming.  Hacking.  Skateboarding.  Smoking.

ABOUT: Jonas was born to a middle class family, with two parents that worked, and were there for him.  At a young age, he developed an interest in computers, and the young man just learned how things worked.  His parents encouraged it, seeing computers and technology as the future, and put him in classes when he was a kid.  While other kids his age were learning karate, he was learning about computers.

He's a bit of an odd ball because of that.  Somewhat of a loner, it takes a little bit for him to open up to people and be comfortable around them, but isn't afraid to be put in the center of attention.  Definitely the quiet kid in the classroom.

Academically, he did very well, graduating near the top of his class.

MOMENTS OF GLORY:  That one unexpected Teacher Work Day when the computer grading system crashed at the school, and every teacher had to reenter every single grade for every assignment that semester?  Yeah, that was him, but shhh...  That other time when Mr. Gonzales's science slideshow was somehow switched to Brazilian fart porn?  I'm not saying it was him, but he may have had something to do with it.  He definitely did flip off that substitute teacher who was a real asshole to his face, much to the delight of his classmates, that earned him a few days in In-School Suspension.

MOMENTS OF SHAME: There was that one time when he broke his arm skateboarding to school, right on the school steps.  That was pretty gnarly.

BIGGEST REGRET:  Choosing to skateboard to school that one day, and getting a broken arm.  That's one of his biggest regrets.  Maybe breaking up with one of his exes as well.

STORY ARCS:  I'm up for anything with Jonas.  He's more of a lover than a fighter, but I'm open to anything.
If I can't have you, my love...  I'll destroy you

Sounds like a pretty solid storyline.  Do you have any objections to my character, if approved of course, being a hockey player?

Hey Chreestafer! There shouldn't be any objections. It's after high school so if your character was on the hockey team that should be fine. We got football players, drama club, cheerleaders, geeks, nerds, student council and the likes.

I'm probably going to make a character who is co-founder of the group GAGA "Geeks Against Gorgeous Assholes"

I look forward to what concept you come up with.

Nope, not at all.  The nearest ice rink is half an hour away, but as long as your character can make it work, I've got nothing against it.

Well I had ideas of he's the kid who would walk right after school for practice to the ice rink. Maybe on some inter leauge small time team, but a shinning star none the less.  He's talked to colleges about hockey scholarships and his hopes and dreams are to some day become a professional. I have more ideas about his family life and all, but he's be coming from a lower end middle class life.

Thinking about just how big our town is.  Remember this is the mid-west, where towns are generally not situated next to one another unless they're suburbs of larger cities.  We have to go 20 miles to Glenn's Mill for a Dairy Queen blizzard.

Based on the size of the graduating class, I figure the population of the town to be around 4000 to 6000.  It could be even lower -- a town I used to live in had a population of 1200 and a graduating class of 75.  Another with a population of 13,500 had a graduating class of 220.  Since the schools serve the surrounding rural area not counted in the city's population, the numbers can vary widely.

At any rate I'd figure us a little on the conservative side, but then again ...  even though we have to go all the way to Glenn's Hill to get that blizzard - we also have a Wal-Mart, something we'd need more than 3000 to justify.

Am I over-analyzing this?

And Chreestafer's character is lucky to find an ice rink only 30 minutes away.  I figure nobody in a hundred mile radius ever even heard of rugby.
What a shame -- The money you spent on those tattoos could have gone toward a boob job.

If there is a hockey team the school would have made it work. Buses would take kids to and from practices if needed and games were scheduled with working parents in mind. This is realistic speaking.

I move to a mid Western state and the high schools football field is about 10 minutes from the school, so thinking about it the school could have their own rink close for games and such or turn their gym into a hockey rink during hockey season. Just a thought. I feel things should be at least 15 minutes drive cause if you don't have friends with cars or parents who can shuttle you around you're kind of screwed. Riding a bike would take a long time too. Unless the city or town has a public transportation system which would probably not be as big as say Boston.

As for an actual fun skating rink it could be 30 drive. But a rink for the school who has a sports calendar year round would have hockey team and a place for them to practice.

Not wrong, hahaha.

However I'm from Pittsburgh, and if you follow sports at all, we have kind of a hockey city.  So rinks aren't that far, and alot of schools have their own even.  I do understand this isn't Pittsburgh though, so we are limited to where things are.

I did have the idea of maybe his friend, or if a gf were to arise she could drive him. So that positin for GF is still open haha.  I will have a CS up later this evening. Dealing with the girlfriend route though, I do have some drama ideas going on in my head.  Like since he's being scouted by colleges like Boston College (nice top hockey school) he would be moving away from her.  Do they split up and go their separate ways? Do they try and make things work? Just a thought though.

I'm originally form Boston! So bring up Boston College gets huge brownie points with me! My chickaboo Roxy is going to Harvard Business School! I'm a little home sick with my characters so they tend to be going back to where I miss the most.

Have you looked at my avatar. I'm a number one Patriots Fan, Celtics, and Bruins so woot! I don't really care much for baseball but will root for the Red Sox!

That sounds like a really neat concept. Hopefully it works out for you.

Even though I'm not a Boston fan, in general, I'm ok with the red Sox hahahaha.

As for my character I want his drama to be a spiral out of control type ordeal. His life can lead in 100 paths and he doesn't know which is the right one to take.

Alright, I'm going to see what character applications we get through the weekend.  Hopefully we can begin next week sometime.  I may need to keep recruitment up while the game starts... not sure if that will be detrimental to new players or not.

Honestly, I don't know that the school has room in its budget to get buses for hockey... I'm thinking no more than 6 students in the entire school would play.  Is that accurate?  Maybe the coach or parent(s) take the players everyday after school.

Tex, not ignoring you.  I'm just waiting for more applicants.  So far, you're our only new character.  Everyone else is being grandfathered in.  That said, I'll probably PM you either this weekend or next Monday to discuss your character.

Chreestafer

I just got home from work, hell of a day.  Yet after a nice warn and relaxing shower I'm going to get on my pc and get that character sheet posted to the thread asap!

:)

As for the hockey ordeal, I completely understand.  I know some schools that share a local rink for their teams practices and stuff. A few of those schools don't have buses so hockey moms and dads sometimes take turns.  Or even players walked to practice, my buddy did. So it's completely understandable.

I could also see how a school filled with so many sports would cause inner rivalries.  Maybe he's picked on cause he plays hockey and not football? Just a thought.

So hope to be working on it soon.

NAME: Christopher "Shep" Shepherd
AGE: 18
HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 5'11 / 189lbs
HAIR COLOR: Black
EYE COLOR: Green
DISTINGUISHING MARKS: Currently sporting a black eye from a hockey fight he was involved in during the game the other night (should see the other guy)

BEST KNOWN FOR: Only player currently being scouted by top hockey colleges.

PLANS: Hoping to land a scholarship to Boston College for hockey.

DREAMS: To play professional level (NHL) hockey.

CAR: None, its not that his family doesn't have any, just his parents use them for work.  Occasionally he'll borrow his moms old stick shift Honda. Yet that's rare, otherwise he walks everywhere or bums a ride in bad weather.

PARENTS: Larry Shepherd and Emilia Shepherd.  Chris's father, Larry is a traveling business man so he's often over seas meeting clients for his company.  Emilia, Christopher's mother, works at the local Walmart normally during the late shift (any time from 3pm onward).  They're good people, but not active in Chris's life other then to occasionally see him at his games, well his mother anyways.

HOME: Green Acres, closer to the trailer park side though.

HOBBIES: Hockey.  When not mesmerized by the ice sport, he likes to read and loves to sing. The thing with singing is, he's pretty good, just wont do it in front of people. Listening to his music loudly.

ABOUT: Originally from the good city of Pittsburgh, Chris moved to the middle of nowhere halfway through his 9th grade year. Going from an established school, and established friend group and even an amazing relationship he watched it all fall apart as he left.  Losing the girl, losing his friends, and leaving a great hockey program.  The only thing he was able to keep in the new place was his hockey skills, which he quickly put to use on the make shift hockey team he found himself on.  It took him a good year before he began to fit in with the crowds of bodies just trying to survive the days of school.  He made a few new friends, yet playing a sport with the rival school wasn't cool, so he was picked on quiet a few times. The schools hockey program wasn't large enough, so through teaming up with the rival Glenn's Hill High School, they had a pretty decent program.

Chris got used to the routine of fight threats, and often after the Perkiski incident he was targeted for that as well.  However, he was smart and level headed knowing that his only opportunity in life was on the ice, he brushed the incidents off.  He still had gotten into fights, yet most of them were ended quickly before they even started.  Never the less as the next years came on he was almost forgotten as he continued his routine.  His grades were ok throughout school mainly a B student, a few A's here and even a D in bio.

Thankfully he had the Foxy Roxy, the smartest girl in the school, offering to tutor him.  With her help he was able to raise that D to a C, just like the recruiters asked him to. Soon the fist of the scholarship info would be coming in and he would be golden.

Yet as his senior year ended, realization of the things uncheck hit him.  How far Will the scholarship go? Will she go to Boston college with me? Can we work this out long distance? Should I have done better in school so the scholarship was guaranteed? If I don't get this college, where I am going to go? what will I study?

The anxiety is hitting him hard.

MOMENTS OF GLORY: His junior year when he stopped the opposing team from scoring the game winning goal that sent his team into the high school level playoffs.  It was that game he was awarded the "A" currently on his jersey.  Yet he is a defensemen after all.

MOMENTS OF SHAME: The time he "sucker punched" the teacher after falling asleep.  It was a late night of practice for him as it had been raining so he stayed at the rink as long as he could before it let up.  During his first period class he passed out in his arms and began to snore.  When Mr. Perkiski shook him to wake him, instinctively Chris shot up and swung at the older man.  From certain angles it seemed he hit him.  However, Mr. Perkiski just stumbled backwards over a table and fell.  He was even back in school the next day.  Yet the rumors of the "broken jaw" never stopped.

BIGGEST REGRET: Not securing a back up plan if hockey doesn't work out.  Not figuring things out with her (open to whomever would like to be "her") about their next steps in life.

STORY ARCS: Open to all.  I do wish for romance.  Yet pregnancy fears are fun, aren't they? Also, for hockey being his main goal in life, a career or near career ending injury would destroy him, so I'm definitely game for this option as well.

Since Hockey is a winter sport and Shep seems very athletic any chance he played football with Tommy and Damian in the fall? Those two are the best of friends  or at least they were..  is that continuing in the reboot Ari?

Sadly I wouldn't see it.  Hockey players for the most part have like one month off before an the next season picks up.  Plus I wouldn't see him risking hurting himself.

Your not wrong hahaha. But where his mindset is, he's shooting to focus on that.  He's one of those all the eggs in one basket kind of guys.  So when he breaks his leg and can't play, his world will fall.

But that would be the main reason why, is injury.  He'd be in fear of getting hurt.

NAME: Alex Brioschi
AGE: 18
HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 5'4, ~130lb
HAIR COLOR: Black
EYE COLOR: Dark brown
DISTINGUISHING MARKS: Piercings and glasses

BEST KNOWN FOR: Alex is more of a loner, but he mingles with art students, nerds, and stoners. Also known for being one of the only trans people in Greenfield.
PLANS: Attending New York University for a Visual Arts Major
DREAMS: Concept Artist
CAR: 2005 Chevrolet Equinox LT
PARENTS: Alex's father, David, died when he was only two years old. His parents never married, and he had his mother's last name, so his father had almost no influence on Alex's life. His mother, Cristina, works as a full-time doctor and often isn't home enough to spend time with him.
HOME: Lookout Point
HOBBIES: Photography, most art mediums, video games, smoking/drinking.

ABOUT: Alex's parents were young when he was born, and not yet ready to tie the knot. His mother continued going to medical school nearly up until the day he was born and returned almost as soon as she left the hospital. Most of his early life was actually spent with his grandparents or aunts and uncles since his parents were both equally determined to achieve their dream jobs. His father died in an accident with a drunk driver when he was two, and after recovering from the loss his mother became even more determined to accomplish her dream in his father's memory. Other than spending more of his time with his extended family than with his mother, Alex had a relatively normal childhood. As he was growing up, he was always considered a "tomboy." Until he came out as trans at fifteen.

His mother became fiercely supportive of him in this matter, nearly cutting ties with his grandparents when they initially refused to accept it. He still sees them quite a bit less, but his mother insists it's because he's old enough to stay home alone now. At sixteen, she even took him to get his name legally changed to what it is now. Around that time, he also started experimenting with drugs since his mother was hardly home to supervise him. He started smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol a year later and has since then continued with this behavior. He doesn't get amazing grades, but he always excelled in his art classes and was able to gather a good enough portfolio to get into New York University.

For his last summer in Greenfield, he just wants to have a fun time partying and preparing for college. After these last three months, he plans on leaving and never looking back.

MOMENTS OF GLORY: Alex isn't one to do something big enough to be noticed by the entire school, but he did spend the last few months of his senior year organizing a Spectrum group for the school's LGBTQ+ students. The last meeting the seniors can attend is at a pride parade at the end of June.

MOMENTS OF SHAME: Knocking a girl's front tooth out after she purposely called him by his old name and getting a week's worth of OSS...
BIGGEST REGRET: The aforementioned knocking out of a girl's tooth...

STORY ARCS: I'm open to a lot of things! Romance would be fun, but just as a warning, I'm planning on him being asexual. I'd also be interested in some darker things if anything comes up.  ;D

FACE CLAIM: Ryan Cassata

NAME: Jessie Myers
FACECLAIM: Felice Fawn
AGE: 17 (Will be 18 shortly after the beginning of the story)
HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 5’2” | 100 lbs
HAIR COLOR: Brunette
EYE COLOR: Grey
DISTINGUISHING MARKS: Piercings, tattoos, scars

BEST KNOWN FOR: Jessie is typically lumped in with the Delinquents thanks to her behavioral issues and all the nice rumors about her family. There’s also been rumors floating about that she’s anorexic for years now.
PLANS: To get somewhere the fuck else.
DREAMS: Ultimately Undecided. Jokes that she wants to be a hobo.
CAR: Bicycle she stole two weeks ago.
PARENTS: The Myers household is a well known party house. There are whispers among the adults that they’re drug dealers or the mother is involved in prostitution, but nothing has otherwise been proven as of late. Much of her family is frequently in and out of jail, and remains a conflicted source of turmoil and bitter humor in Jessie’s life.
HOME: Trailer Park
HOBBIES: Videogames, five finger discounts, reading, writing, angry rock and metal, singing, getting away with shit.

ABOUT: Jessie has some questionable ethics, likely as a result of her upbringing - or so they say. Even back in elementary school she exhibited behavioral problems but it wasn’t until she was in middle school that rumors about her family really started to crop up. She and her family have been deemed everything from white trash to a crack snorting whores, and Jessie has gotten into plenty enough fist fights over the years because of it.

These days she’s known as your typical delinquent - Bratty, loud mouthed, and an outright smart aleck. For the most part she spends her days in those classrooms that keep troublemakers specially segregated from tainting the rest of the school. She can often be found with one or two other classmates - male or female - skipping class and smogging up the bathrooms with cigarettes or a nice blunt. Once in awhile you can spot her curled up beneath a tree with her nose buried in a book, but other than that she doesn’t seem to take school very seriously and treats it more like one big social venue.

MOMENTS OF GLORY: Is forever immortalized flipping the bird in last years yearbook, Junior class of 2017 picture. She's also a pretty decent singer.

MOMENTS OF SHAME: Has a picture of her down to her cheap, oversized, hand-me-down undies taken from the locker room floating about.
BIGGEST REGRET: To many to count at this point.

STORY ARCS: A dark, passionate and wild (and sometimes sweet) romance. Drama revolving around her family and home life. Finding herself. People she has confrontations with. (Pm and plot friendly. I absolutely love ic drama too. If you're interested in plotting with me or creating histories, don't hesitate to pm me please!)

Seduce my mind and my body will follow.

Of course that makes sense he wants to go pro.  I was just trying to find a way to get your character involved with the other jocks so he wasn't out there on an island all alone.

In any normal way, he'd be friends with whomever he can be.  Ye5 in this storyline of like him to still feel out of place, per say.  Even though he's a "jock" he still doesn't fit that clique and is often bullied for it. Between that and still being handsome enough to get the hot girls attentions or causes scenes woth other jocks.

I wouldn't be opposed to your character being the guy trying to bridge that gap though.  He seems to be a nice guy and maybe he can make the attempts, even into the summer of trying to befriend him. Like invite him to parties and what not. However, some of the other football players still don't like him.

I love these new submissions. Thank you for sharing your brain babies with us! Class of 2017!

Amarlo, it just shows what a fantastic character maker you are no matter that bio size. I'll confess, I've stalked your characters sometimes. They are always written so well. <3

FeveredDreams

NAME: Sarah Winters
AGE: 18
CLIQUES: Goth,  band geek (Violin Player)
PLANS: Going to university.
DREAM: She wants to be musician.  There’s not much that makes her as happy as playing.
CAR: Beaten up 1973  Camaro.  A gift from her father at 16.  The only catch was she had to figure out how to make it run again.

HOBBIES: Music,  car repair(Taught by dad), bit of a party girl,  and sewing.

ABOUT: Sarah formerly Simon  always seemed a little different than most boys in her classes.  She had a rather effete side to her.  Which often caused her to stand out from the rest of the group.   That of course drew the attention of bullies,  being rather slight and thin she was easy to knock around without much of a fuss.  She was vicious in a fight,  but, brute force typically seemed to beat out her ferocity. She did her best to weather it all with a smile.  She knew that people could feel that deep down there was something different about her.  So she didn’t blame them,  not much.

There was a lot of stuff going on under the surface though.  Sarah was suffering internally trying her best to play at boyhood,  while feeling herself breaking apart thanks to her desire to be just be one of the girls.  She was easily accepted into the goth clique,  which she enjoyed immensely as it allowed her to express her more feminine nature through style of dress and even the minimal use of some make up.  Yet,  it didn’t fix everything.  She dealt with things as best as she could,  but,  she tended to suffer from occasional self  destructive impulses.  When her parents approached her about them,  the girl feeling so incapable of hiding who she was simply broke down.  She explained what she was suffering through,  and had expected to be kicked out of the house.  Yet to her surprise they accepted her, and even helped her begin transitioning.

At the beginning of this year she appeared walking the halls for the first time dressed as she always desired.  Something was different about her,  she seemed more confident and even a little tougher.   Of course she suffered a little hassling,  but instead of being hurt by it.  She was quick to give a smile and hold up the middle finger.  Her grades even improved and she tossed herself into band,  finally willing to show the world that she was capable of playing violin.

MOMENTS OF GLORY: Filled in for the first seat violinist,  playing the part fantastically and winning her place as first seat.

MOMENTS OF SHAME:  She once broke down during PE,  when she was forced to participate in swimming.  It’s stuck with her as she began to sob about not wanting to wear a swim suit.   The screaming and tears thrown at the gym teacher resulted in a brief suspension and more than few snickers from her classmates.  Things might make a little more sense now,   but she has never lived it down.  What most people outside of her parents and a few close friends know,  she was also trying to hide the scars that crisscross her calves.

I hadn't realized I should post here with the reboot,  so, here's my character.  I might change my character image if I can find a girl more appropriate but I suck at finding character images.  Also Derr it seems I need to do some updating of my character sheet.
Are you afraid of me now?

Since Hockey is a winter sport and Shep seems very athletic any chance he played football with Tommy and Damian in the fall? Those two are the best of friends  or at least they were..  is that continuing in the reboot Ari?

That's up to you and Jason.  Just keep in mind that with new characters entering the game, some dynamics may change.  Though, it looks like the majority of the new character submissions are "outcasts" to some degree.

That said, this won't effect those who've already submitted a character, but from here on, I'll be looking for characters who more closely fit the setting.  You can still be a unique individual without going completely against the grain.

I realize you said you'd be contacting me regarding my character later this weekend, but in light of this post I just wanted to say I'd be glad to make my character "fit in" more -- A rugby player could certainly be an asset to the football team - or he more than likely played some soccer overseas as well as rugby.  Since I don't know much about American football, it would help if someone could tell me what position my guy would play.  (in fact, I haven't even worked out what position I want him to play in rugby)

Also, track.  I might have made him win a medal or two in track only I really couldn't remember when track season takes place.  Is it near the beginning of the school year or at the end?  In rugby there's a need for endurance -- not all positions require sprinters, but they all require endurance -- and he's not exactly tall and slender -- so I'm thinking cross country maybe, or one of the longer track events.

And ... he's pretty smart, so he could be on some academic decathlon team or something.

To be frank, I was trying NOT to make the stereotypical "munchkin" character (the SEAL sniper who's also an F-15 pilot with degrees in medicine and law whose father is a Senator and mother a supermodel-turned-corporate CEO, and oh yes, he has a dark secret.)  I can make him a bit less an outcast, but certainly not the life of the party.
What a shame -- The money you spent on those tattoos could have gone toward a boob job.

You can be an outcast and still completely fit in. :P It just depends on which clique you hover towards. I was a complete outcast in high school with the jocks and cheerleaders, but I was super popular with the Drama and Band geeks - as were most of us 'freaks'. I was also moderately popular with the delinquents. So one man's outcast-trash is another man's goddess. So don't limit the outcasts!

With that said, I'd more so limit the 'loners' than anything else. :P

Sounds like fun.

I would be glad to help you with football stuff and I personally really like that your character is not a sniper or fighter pilot.

Tommy Mulvaney is the Quarterback.

Damian Clark is the Wide Receiver.

You could make Spencer the Running Back, a position which is just like rugby. There is not much football going on anyway they graduated.

As long as it's ok with Aribeth and Lady Sakura?

NiceTexasGuy

Thanks Ana.  He's just been updated (gmta it seems) -- and my reference to one of his moments of glory was regarding the last regular season game - not to be confused with Tommy's game winning touchdown in a playoff game.

NAME: Victor "Vik" Burke
AGE: 18
HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 5'9 /155-70
HAIR COLOR: Black
EYE COLOR: Brown
DISTINGUISHING MARKS: Pompadour hairstyle, growing collection of tattoos

BEST KNOWN FOR: Former baseball star turned "greaser"
PLANS: Looking into entering trade school
DREAMS: Anything with cars
CAR:
Frankenstein or "Franky"

PARENTS: Thomas Burke - Deceased, Died in a few years earlier to cancer. Inaya Burke - Dispatcher and owner of local impound lot.
HOME: In a small apartment located on the second floor, overlooking the city's impound lot (Majestic).
HOBBIES: Cars, Welding (metal based arts/constructs), Robotics, Car races, scrapping/junkyard "picking", playing pool.

ABOUT: Victor's parents met overseas, both service members who hitched up and started a family. The two moved to Greenfield, looking to get away from the bustle of a large metro city and live a simple life. They bought out an old shop and slowly expanded it into a gas station, general mechanic shop and relief impound lot. Things were good, business slowly grew and Victor soon had a pair of siblings (brother and sister to annoy him).

Life was good, Victor interest in cars was slowly nurtured but he developed a love for baseball, specifically his dad's favorite team, the Red Sox. Victor played baseball from a young age, T-ball, little league, middle and high school. His dad was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer and died in his sophomore year. Victor quit baseball and had to become the man of the family as his mom sunk into a depression.

Victor played the role of dad to his two siblings, getting them to school at the expense of his own tardiness. He didn't have time to practice, he needed to work and fill in at the shop to help pay the bills. His mom slowly bounced back and regained control. Victor had more free time in his senior year and attempted to reconnect estranged friendships as best he could. He is worried about losing those regained connections and leaving his family behind.

MOMENTS OF GLORY: Bringing Franky to life and seeing the look on people's faces when he roll him into school for the very first time. The bucket of bolts is a well taken care eyesore which has gotten people out of a jam more than some would dare admit. Made up of a collection of multiple trucks and parts, some details had to be flubbed to register the thing with the city.

MOMENTS OF SHAME: Walking head first into a pole at school while he was trying to flirt with a new girl. Moment amplified since it was caught on video and posted on youtube.

BIGGEST REGRET: The things left untold between him and his dad before he passed away.

STORY ARCS: Get over the fear of leaving his remaining family (mom and siblings) alone to go start his own life.
Decide between staying local at a trade school that will eventually result in mediocre success or something he has wants more at the risk of losing what little connections he has left.

Lady Sakura

Red Sox?! Character after my own heart 😉

Nicely done. All the guys and Sarah seem to enjoy fixing cars.

Roxy's Maui will have no problem getting discounted tune ups. She has to get it ready for that drive to Massachusetts.

Aiden

To be fair, what guys are NOT intrested in cars at that age.

Victor is more intrested in older cars then new ones, he is really into the Rat Rod stuff (as pictured by Franky) and loves to get his hands on old rusted cars and chop them up.

NiceTexasGuy

Silly me...  my idea was that while my guy wasn't a master mechanic, he still worked in a shop and could do minor maintenance, get friends discounts on tires and etc ... I actually envisioned him coming to the rescue of a pretty girl with mechanical problems.  So it turns out he's the least qualified guy in town.  Oh well, he can still get you a good deal on tires, new or used.

Since there are a couple or three characters with a family connection to a garage, I'm wondering if my guy (Spencer) should be working for one of them -- I've already established the highly unique name "Greenfield Auto" if anyone wants it.  Or, you know, it's easy enough to change.

Also, has our school mascot been established?  Surely that was a top priority in the beginning.

========

edit:

I was also thinking that for those athletes who plan to play in college or hope to go pro ... if the school weight room is no longer available, Spencer's (home) gym is open to them (working out together of course.)

Spencer usually runs alone, but is open to a running partner so long as they either keep his pace or challenge him to go a tad faster.   He has a routine, but is always open to alternative ideas.
What a shame -- The money you spent on those tattoos could have gone toward a boob job.

Definitely.

In small-town middle America, being Hockey and Rugby fans would give them that connection that makes them fellow orphans -- I'm sure they'd both be asked "Is that the same thing as soccer?" on more than one occasion.  (Speaking from personal experience.)

I didn't have any issue with it, was putting it out there for possible connections with characters and such.

Maybe the school had a chop shop class they were in. Also a carpenter class as an elective too.

I know my husband was more of a wood working type he loves making pieces out of wood all kinds didn't really tinker with cars.

But it's true him and his buddy just gutted a van for camping and fixing it up so they can go places.

As for Roxy the gym is her second home so she wouldn't mind a running buddy or gym buddies.

I didn't intend to step on tows (hah, get it), I can easily pivot my guy's history that they run the impound yard and leave the mechanic shop as a separate entity. I think I will do that, I feel this opens up a little more for Victor, future wise, as he is debating between staying home and becoming an HVAC repairmen or going of to a different trade school.

Edit - Fixed

I can see the mechanic and impound working togther often, maybe your character comes to the yard often looking for parts. They send clients to one another, etc or can be friends, since in their senior year, they both started over socially.

Ana 1360

From Tommy Mulvaney's CS "Tommy works on most of his classmates cars, the ones who need him to keep them on the road. He has the keys, and the blessing of shop teacher Al Carbonetti, to the auto body shop attached to the High School."

If this helps anybody Tommy was the gear head from the original "Before we Part".

Aiden

That's fine, Victor isn't looking into being everyone's mechanic at school, I feel they would roll in different social circles either way and their one connection being auto shop.

"Of all the cars you could picked, a Jetta? Why?! " Vic's feeling on Tommy's car.  ;D

Jesse looks like trouble hahahah. If she runs a lot of parties though then maybe that's the kind of thing Cas ended up haunting with Noah. Noah was a senior of two years over her so he'd more than likely know Jesse and probably introduced them in the first place. (Cas probably didn't find trouble naturally himself until Noah influenced him. Too many stereotypes about how x group is dangerous from the parents.)

BEST KNOWN FOR: Nerd, charity nut
PLANS: A university in the state for computer science
DREAMS: Game Developer
CAR: A blue '05 Toyota Echo that used to belong to his mom.
PARENTS: His father works in insurance and his mom waitresses in the mornings at the diner. They aren't too comfortable with certain "lifestyle choices" and don't want to hear about it, but he's close to them.

He came from humble beginnings, his parents moving into one of the smaller but comfortable homes in Green Acres to start their family. Wesley, his evil brother, came first, and then, two years later, Trent. His mom did volunteer work whenever she had the free time, and the whole family went to church every week--for several years. Wesley stopped around middle school. Trent didn't, not even after he came out, despite the isolation and "I'll pray for you"s.

Yep, Trent's gay, and some people probably suspected a little before he did, with his subtle-but-not-really sideward glances at other guys. He came out late freshman year, first to friends, then to his parents, and then to everyone else. It was one of the most stressful things he ever did, and it had its downsides, but not hiding it any longer than he did left him content.

Trent existed somewhat comfortably as a socially awkward nerd, but the summer before senior year, he desired to be a little more than that. He, for the most part, shirked the bedhead 'do that dominated his first three years, started lifting weights, not at all to the point of being a stud, but enough to make a difference. Oh, but he was still that socially awkward dork. That didn't change, although he made some attempts to change that with varying levels of success. No parties, never anything too wild, but this summer, part of him wants to let loose a little, just to enjoy this summer before "the beginning of the rest of his life".

MOMENTS OF GLORY: Helped put together a coat drive junior year.

MOMENTS OF SHAME: That one time junior year when he knocked over his drink and had to walk around with a wet spot on his pants for the next couple hours. When he swiped a few bucks from the church bake sale because he really wanted to buy a game that just came out. There was also that time he developed feelings for a friend, or someone friendly, and became too attached: started appearing at the same places as him, sometimes sat a little too closely, and to top the awkwardness off, when things were already probably going south, he kissed him. Trent has kept his distance from that point on and can still bareley look him in the eye.

BIGGEST REGRET: Freshman year, when he tried dating a girl just to see if he could like it, but decided that he didn't after only one date, but he didn't want to hurt her feelings by breaking up with her so he tried to stick with it and hope that she would quickly lose interest, but that plan didn't last long because he started to outright avoid her and her texts, eventually leading her to get the hint. He tried to apologize, but he never explained why. She probably understood once she received the news later that year.

STORY ARCS: Open to virtually anything, but some ideas: someone he can let loose with, corruption, someone he let down (or will let down) in their moment of need, developing a friendship with someone he might have otherwise avoided due to their reputation or appearance. Anyone who wants to be the girl he dated back in freshman year or his awkward crush could also be cool.

NAME: Sean Micheal Acker
AGE: 18
HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 6'1", 153lbs
HAIR COLOR: Light Brown
EYE COLOR: Brown
DISTINGUISHING MARKS: On his left pec, he has in script: "I love you, you were ready, the pain is strong and urges rise / But I'll see you when He let's me / Your pain is gone, your hands untied". Instead of having an eighteenth birthday party, that was how he celebrated. These other two shortly followed: on his right and on his left.

Face Claim: Chris Green

BEST KNOWN FOR: The occasional hallway performance in which he sings obnoxiously loud, and purposefully off-key. Metal/rock head. Class clown. Drifter.
PLANS: To go to Chicago and join a band.
DREAMS: Rockstar
CAR: Black '99 Pontiac Sunfire
PARENTS: His mom is a graphic designer for a local company. Their relationship is like a roller coaster. His real dad is in a one-hit single rock band who had a sound similar to The Offspring. They haven't talked, and no, it's not something he's told anyone else. He has a step-dad, whose last name Sean never took when his mom tied the knot with him. His last name isn't his mom's maiden name either.
HOME: Green Acres
HOBBIES: Music, singing, playing drums, playing guitar a little less, partying, basketball

ABOUT: Sean was always a little shit, from gaining his best friend after making fun of his big ears to making his mom lock herself in her room one evening after playing Torment the Boyfriend one too many times. He was born in Chicago, and was only seven when his dad, the man his mom was a hundred percent certain she would marry, ditched them to go on tour with his band. Sean barely understood it at the time, since no one really explained it to him, but later understood why his mom always changed the station whenever this one new song played. They left the city shortly after and went to live with his grandparents while his mom went back to school.

That was when he met the best friend, Josh. They became like too peas in a pod after that incident, and later they tried to start a band that Sean was kicked out of after pissing off their singer. Josh, that loyal puppy, left, too, so that they could do their own thing for a while, like Twenty One Pilots, but only more awesome, because it was them. They even had their own YouTube channel, BrosWithAxes. It was a dumb name. Sean didn't know why he picked it. The duo was doomed for failure. His mom had been dating this one man pretty seriously, and they finally decided to tie the knot the summer before his freshman year. Good for her. Only problem was, she wanted to move in with him and his kid in some rinky-dink little town called Greenfield. That was an hour away. Sean and Josh tried to make it work, staying over at each other's houses on the weekends when they could. That was fine for a while, until, junior year, Josh decided he didn't want to live anymore.

Sean was always a guy with a huge sense of humor, often to the point of using it to avoid utter seriousness, that kind where someone wanted to talk about their deep troubles. Sometimes that humor could be a little pointed when someone could handle it, and occasionally he could go a little too far, but he tried to balance it out with the way he was openly affectionate with friends, because, ultimately, to him, words were shit, actions meant something. After the incident, his humor found new heights, where he became twice as annoying and far more insulting, until he pushed many people away and someone finally knocked some sense into him, quite literally. Then it was a matter of getting through the rest of the grief.

Now that he's free from mind-numbing school, he's still set on joining a kickass band, but he wants to enjoy the summer first.

MOMENTS OF GLORY: Senior year, when he streaked down the hall with Mr. Stickler, the principal, chasing after him, his clothes covering his crotch, his pert buttocks flapping in the stale air. There was also that time he made someone spit coffee out on one of the biggest bitches at the school.

MOMENTS OF SHAME: That time in junior year when he pissed off one of the biggest guys at school and got knocked flat on his back. When he was trying to put the moves on this girl who was stoned out of her mind. She was already giggly, and apparently his penis was downright hilarious.

BIGGEST REGRET: Not being able to stop Josh.

STORY ARCS: Pretty much anything, but a couple ideas: anything dealing with music, rebuilding a friendship, could have maybe bullied someone for a brief period. If anyone wants a step-brother or wants to be the guy to punch Sean, that's cool, too.

I'm just going to repost what I posted the other day, in case some people missed it. :P

So I'm glancing through all of the characters and here is my list of people that were more glaringly obvious potentials in my eyes of who my Jesse could know/hang out with/be friends with - and the circles they may have in common

The list:
Tommy - Band Geeks, Stoners, Goths TBD
Leanne - Her work on production customs for the Theater, I'm guessing.
Jonas - Nerdy with a streak of delinquency >.> (Jess probably had a lil crush on him at some point)
Alex Brioschi - Stoners, Arts - She likely could have been very protective of him (To the point of possibly overdoing it on a few occasions) with his journey into Trans.
Sarah Winters - Goths, Band - Likely respects her capabilities in a fight, very liable for a potential close friendship.
Cas - Outcasts - His pregnancy, and them potentially knowing each other through Noah, likely has Jesse pretty pissed about him ghosting.
Sean - Metal/rock heads, Class clowning TBD
Viktor - Jessie was a part of little league when she was in middle school and late elementary. She played with the boys and was a pretty talented player. She could have been on a team at some point with him.
Isis -

I am so sorry Dame! I don't know how I missed it. I'm fairly certain Isis's connection to Band and her hobbies in video gaming has potential for her and Jessie to know each other. However, I'm fairly certain at this point that Jessie could be considered a bully to her.

Isis is extremely talented, and seems to have that 'perfect life' that kids like Jessie would just instantly be jealous of. She's not very good at zipping her lips like she probably should, so she's probably said some rather insensitive things towards Isis out of pure jealousy. I can see her calling her "Miss America" - as if that's a bad thing - and "The next god damned Martha Stewart." :P

If that doesn't suit you, I'd be more than happy to discuss other possibilities as well. ^^

If anyone has any disagreements, ideas or additional notes, please don't hesitate to speak up! Also, if you weren't listed and have some thoughts/plot bunnies, feel free to poke at me as well. ^^

I am unashamed to admit that I fell for it hook, line, and sinker. :D Roxy sounds fun. I'm always up for having my characters being toyed with, or anything else, really. Trent would have been more like child's play, probably. Sean's happy to give what he gets, although probably not as cunning, and rarely mean-spirited. Any retaliation from Trent would be, if given the right motivation.

But of course they do! ;D A friend will certainly be welcome for helping him dip his toes in the water, so to speak. And Trent absolutely loves that Alex put together a Spectrum group. The only thing that makes him frown is that they can't be a part of it longer. Trent could have been supportive of Alex after his coming out, and could have even sought him out directly if they weren't already talking at the time.

And how would Alex feel about being called Broski? If for no other reason than because it doesn't sound all that different from his last name. Sean says he's tempted.

Certainly can't disagree with that. Tommy looks like a guy who would leave a lasting impression. Depending on when the car accident happened and your own interest in the idea, Sean could have run his mouth about that, or maybe about Tommy's dead brother (totally overlooked that they share the same name--my bad XD). I'd just need to think of a good why for such attacks, aside from maybe actually wanting to get his head knocked off. I suppose there's little more socially destructive than picking a fight with the star quarterback, especially if it might have led to undesirable consequences for Tommy. Could have happened during that year's football season, if you want. Also open to discussing other angles.

Thanks! All the characters in here look like a lot of fun.

Ooh, might need to see Jessie in action first, but she could be one of Sean's favorite people. There could be potential for an unhealthy friendship, maybe. At the very least, maybe something that involves them being nasty to each other on occasion, in a way that might leave them simmering for a while, but it's also weirdly cathartic. There might be a limit to how far he can go 'cause he's not a delinquent, but I'd be open to discussing other potential relationships or backstories.

Hey guys.  Sorry for my silence over the last few days.  This last weekend didn't go like I thought it was and instead of having the free time I had planned it turned into something crazy and hectic.

The new OOC should be out in the next few days.  Probably Thursday, as Wednesday is full of BS.

Victor has been approved, now that I know all is well.

Anyone want to work out some connections to him? Former teamates before he had to quit the baseball team, people who dislike/hate him for whatever reason. Maybe the company he works for impounded your car or cost you a ton of money to release it.

Exs, FoB, crushes, etc.

I would like a Best friend, someone to hang out.

I'm open

Isis is lovely and Trent would adore being her friend, if you're interested. Trent generally wants to befriend anyone LGBT--I mean, he wants to get along with most people, but you know, tribes and all that. Plus they're both into nerdy stuff. Maybe partying together could be on their horizon? Feel free to PM me if you want to talk things over more. :-)

BEST KNOWN FOR: Musician,  being the weirdo,  aggressive streak,  bitchy to most... surprisingly sweet to friends.
PLANS: A university out of state for music
DREAMS: Musician
CAR: Beaten up 1973  Camaro.  A gift from her father at 16.  The only catch was she had to figure out how to make it run again.
PARENTS: Michael Winters,  local dentist. Midori Winters, well known sass master and stay at home Mom.
HOME: Lookout point

MOMENTS OF GLORY:: Filled in for the first seat violinist,  playing the part fantastically and winning her place as first seat.

What most people outside of her parents and a few close friends know,  she was also trying to hide the scars

BIGGEST REGRET: Mostly not coming out earlier,  and more importantly...  not embracing her more wild side.  She feels like she kept herself in control for far to long.

STORY ARCS: Completely open.
Are you afraid of me now?

Tokyorose627

NAME: Aoi Fujisaki
AGE: 18
HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 5'8, 120 pounds
HAIR COLOR: Black
EYE COLOR: Brown
DISTINGUISHING MARKS: N/A

Face Claim: Aoi Shouta

BEST KNOWN FOR: Known for being a transfer student, and quite the nerd when it comes to his studies, as well as being the most favored punching bag for the jocks and bullies when he doesn't do their homework...

PLANS: Going to University to continue his studies

DREAMS: He can't decide between what his father wishes of him (to become a businessman), or to let him choose his own path. Right now, he's stuck between either trying to become a singer, or trying out his luck in modeling.

CAR: Aoi prefers to ride the bus

PARENTS: Kazuki Fujisaki, father and owner of a Company dealing in importing and exporting goods. His mother, Rose, who passed away when Aoi was 5, worked in the hospitality industry.

HOME: Lookout Point

HOBBIES: Puzzles, writing his own songs, Modeling (something he never expected, honestly), practicing his martial arts and yoga

ABOUT: Aoi actually was born to his mother and father in the heart of Tokyo, having lived there after his father, from Japan, met his mother, who was from America. The family stayed together and lived in the oriental country, his father working as a respected businessman, while his mother worked in the hospitality business, having been transferred  from America. Despite being a mixed race child, Aoi never seemed to mind, feeling that his parents upbringing didn't have effect on his social life, but as he went to preschool, and then middle school, he found that other kids had a different idea of it. He began to be teased, other kids calling him weird or odd, and was bullied most of his time as a child, causing his social skills to become lacking. He became more reserved, already much so due to his love of reading and learning new things, and he soon became what everyone stereotypically called the 'nerd' of the school.

At the age of 10 however, everything changed when his mother became ill. At age 11 she passed away, causing a rift between his father and himself, and as a result, caused in-house fighting between them. Unable to get along, Aoi signed up for emancipation from his father, who at the time was so filled with anger and frustration over the loss of his wife and the problems he had with his son, signed and agreed. At the age of 16, Aoi signed up for a transfer between his school in Japan, and another in America, in the same town his mother grew up in. With a new goal to finish school, and a chance for him to grow up on his own and to learn more about himself, he went off to America, now living on his own. His father contacts him on some occasions, and wires him money every month; despite their past issues, his father still cares about him.

Aoi is a rather kind individual. He likes helping others when they need it, or simply likes to be polite and would ask someone how their day is. He can be a bit lazy on some occasions, but that's rarely seen by people, unless either he's really bored, or really doesn't want to do something. He's also very chivalrous, wanting to do anything to help people when he can, such as when others need help at school, or if others were being bullied like he was. However, he can be somewhat shy or quiet when people approach him, because of his reserved nature, and doesn't know many people in the area. However, if you ask him a few questions, or talk with him he'll begin to open up as time goes on. He'd even be more surprised and talkative if people happened to know about his secret modeling career, something that he himself is proud of, but not the type to simply broadcast it to the whole school.

MOMENTS OF GLORY: Was the leader of the Schools Decathlon team, and helped the school win championship two times in a row.

MOMENTS OF SHAME: Aoi was determined to make a big impression on his new classmates on his first day, and was so excited to make his new debut at the school, that he left in a hurry. When he got to the school however, he found that no one was there. Confused, he walked around for quite some time until he asked someone passing by why the school wasn't open, only to find out that in America, school is closed on Saturdays. He proceeded to walk back home, face red with embarrassment the whole way.

BIGGEST REGRET: Continuing to fight with his father which led up to emancipating himself. So much anger and frustration over his mother dying caused it, and he wished he could take back things he had said, and re-connect with his father properly.

STORY ARCS: I would love to see what would happen if some people found out about his modeling career he's currently doing to receive money for himself. At school, he looks more frumpy and reserved, resulting in others not thinking much of him looks wise. I'm curious to see what would happen if girls saw his appearance when he models. Would he become popular? Will girls suddenly take an interest in him? Maybe one of the girls could give him a makeover and a new image for school one day to give him more confidence? Romance is also an option for him as well, considering he's around that age to start thinking about those things.

Oh, hey, new girl in the hood. I was actually thinking about a character - I really like the idea and it'd be a great way to start writing on E. Won't be able to write down a sheet before next week, though. Would that be a problem?  ::)

That shouldn't be a problem at all. Whenever you have time. There is no rush at all. If you need any help with anything don't hesitate to ask. ^.^

Well i'm looking forward to this RP! Wondering what kind of shenanigans I can get my character into. :3

*Pops in*

Interesting idea. Mostly curious to know what the fill of academic types is like so far? Been reading through some of the wonderful profiles and been mulling over a character sheet of my own.

Lady Sakura

Welcome Blissy! Thank you for your interest!

Let me get an assessment and get back to you. We have a class Valedictorian and a couple of characters that look like they'd not do so well in school.

However, I'm sure whatever type you decide to create would be fine!

Happy Writing!

Victor is a solid C+/B student.

GPA finishing, I would say he got it up to 2.3? Good enough that he can go to some college if he opts that route.

I've been checking here consistently within the last week, this is definitely a story I would enjoy participating in. Great group of players and characters already. I'm going to write up and submit a profile soon!

So, yeah, I gave it a shot and tried to bring a touch of drama in the story. Let me introduce you Julie...

NAME: Julie Stephanie Sörensen
AGE: 18
HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 5’9” / 115 lbs
HAIR COLOR: Blonde
EYE COLOR: Blue
DISTINGUISHING MARKS: None

Face Claim: Alexis René Gladbach

BEST KNOWN FOR: Honors Group. Athletes. Oh, and a suicide attempt.
PLANS: To join a prestigious medical school.
DREAMS: Oh, well, hard to tell nowadays...
CAR: None
PARENTS: Her father, Mark, is a a renowned doctor serving in the town hospital and a prominent figure in the local protestant community. Her mother, Claire, is your more-typical-than-not suburban housewife, and she always kept a close eye on her youngest daughter.
HOME: Lookout Point.
HOBBIES: Sports (basketball, swimming); singing off-key in the shower; writing stuff.

ABOUT: As the youngest offspring of a well-off family, Julie always had it easy. She grew up in the finest neighborhood of the town, a safe - and boring - environment where the Sörensens put down roots back in the late 80s. Her father, Mark, is a renowned doctor serving in the town hospital and a prominent figure in the local protestant community whereas her mother, Claire, is your more-typical-than-not suburban housewife. Her elder brother, Richard, is currently completing a law degree at Harvard University and only comes home from time to time.

During her high school years, Julie pretty much followed her brother's path and joined the National Honor Society and the Student Council, and was also a member of the school basketball team. Socially, she mostly mingled with her teammates and other honors students, but tended to be in good terms with most of the people in her school. She even had a relationship with a classmate between her Junior and Senior year. One could say that Julie Sörensen - or "Jules" or "the Swede", as some of her pals used to call her because of both her last name and looks - fared quite well in life. That is, until the beginning of her final year.

It happened in October, and the rumours spread sort of quickly in the middle of a Thursday morning recess: Julie Sörensen tried to commit suicide. Some said she slit her wrists in the bathtub, whereas others suggested she tried to hang herself in the basement. But she didn't: instead, she just tried to overdose on household medicines and lost consciousness. Her mother Claire found her lying on the bathroom floor and called the 911. She got rushed to the hospital and, well, survived and eventually - around three weeks later - came back to school.

Julie managed to complete her Senior year and even kept her grades up. She decided to quit the basketball team, though, and pretty much disappeared socially. Rumor has it she befriended some of the geeks and weirdos in the school and spent most of her time around them.

MOMENTS OF GLORY: Not many. Some good basketball matches here and there, but by no means she was the star of the school team.

MOMENTS OF SHAME: The day she came back to school after you-know-what. It wasn't really shameful, but she could pretty much feel everyone's eyes on her back.

BIGGEST REGRET: The day she tried to kill herself. Maybe.

STORY ARCS: What I'm trying to investigate is the aftermath of Julie's suicide attempt and how she spent her last summer in town. I'd be in for some romance, yup, and deep, meaningful conversations on why she did what she did. I'm also looking for someone to cover the role of Julie's ex-boyfriend, and I'm generally open to any connection.

Lyron

Since I decided I couldn't play Sean anymore, here is an attempt at a replacement for him:

NAME: Zak Griffin
AGE: 18
HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 6'0", 167lbs
HAIR COLOR: Brown
EYE COLOR: Hazel
DISTINGUISHING MARKS: Maybe a minor scar or two. He wants a tattoo, but he hasn't decided on one yet.

Face Claim: Cody Christian

BEST KNOWN FOR: Being an asshole on some accounts, probably. Metal/rock head. He used to be on the boys' basketball team. Former trailer trash.
PLANS: To go to Chicago and join a band.
DREAMS: Rockstar
CAR: Black '99 Pontiac Sunfire
PARENTS: His mom manages a marketing team for some company. Their relationship is pretty bitter. His biological dad was the drummer of a one-hit single band who had a sound similar to Blink-182. The only things he got from him, directly, were his last name and his first drum set. They haven't talked, and no, it's not something he's told anyone else. He has a step-dad.
HOME: Green Acres
HOBBIES: Music, singing, playing drums, playing guitar, partying, basketball, working out, video games

ABOUT: Once upon a time, a girl Zak calls Sedusa fell in love with a drummer, and she skipped to Chicago with him on the dreams of him making it big. As time passed, the chances seemed grim, but she stuck with him when his first band fell apart, when he struggled to find another, when the next one seemed doomed to playing at nothing more than local gigs. She even had his child during their throes of passion. It wasn't exactly part of the plan, but it enamored her to him all the more, and Sedusa waited for that moment he would propose. It never came. The clock struck midnight when the band scored their hit single, turning him into a ghost that haunted them in the form of checks in the mail.

Chicago living was costly, and she wasn't about to go begging her parents for help. Doing so would prove that they were right all along. But apparently that didn't mean she couldn't settle in somewhat familiar territory. Zak was in first grade when they moved to the trailer park in Greenfield. Sedusa didn't care for their neighbors, instead focusing her attention on those who lived on the other side of the fence, when she wasn't busy working or going to the community college. For the most part, Zak was left to his own devices. His mom left him with one babysitter or another until he was old enough to stay at home alone, and Sedusa didn't start acting more like a parent until she sunk her claws into one of the local men. Zak was in sixth grade when they married, and they moved into his Green Acres home.

His earliest memories were of wailing on his kiddie drum set and hearing his dad's band practice. It stayed with him. Music would be his life. But he wasn't antisocial, either. He played basketball for school until sophomore year, he hung out with friends, and he made sure to have a healthy dose of fun, although some might question how healthy it was at times. His leave-no-stone-unturned, I-do-what-I-want attitude could leave for a few different perceptions that could vary at any point. For better or worse, he said what he thought, and no one could say he was anyone but himself. Even when his destructive stubborn streak occasionally reared its ugly head, that was all him. Those he is closest to might say he was more chill. He also enjoyed flirting and teasing and sex, but he never did the dating thing. Girls who didn't want that same fun either learned this quickly and stayed clear or found out the hard way.

With school finally out of the way, Zak is trying to save up for Chicago. In the meantime, he'll say his goodbyes and maybe make some amends--or make things worse. Who's he kidding? Anything is possible.

MOMENTS OF GLORY: All of his hours of practice were pretty glorious to him, but the more public moment was his performance at the talent show one year. Scoring a signed guitar from Five Finger Death Punch. There was also that time he sneaked into a girl's bedroom, that classic through-the-window routine, one night for a few minutes of fun. All the times he skipped math class, because screw that noise.

MOMENTS OF SHAME: Although the aforementioned sneaking was fun, getting caught kept it from being a one hundred percent win in his book, even if it gave him a nice rush at the time. His mother threw away all his instruments, including the signed guitar, in early October of senior year because he continually refused to apply to colleges, so in protest, he couch-surfed when he could, and slept in his car when he couldn't. After three weeks, it was he who caved. Zak attempted to poach someone's girlfriend once.

BIGGEST REGRET: There was a teacher who was a borderline bitch, and she had the fortune of having him in her class junior year. Zak wasn't ever the favorite student of any teacher, but his tongue was usually more controlled toward them than his peers. After so long, though, one foul mood on his part and one passive-aggressive murmuring on hers was all it took to tell her exactly what everyone thought about her. There had been gossip that she cried, and she quit working at their school after that year. He never apologized.

STORY ARCS: Pretty much anything, but a couple ideas might be something dealing with music and making amends. If anyone wants a connection based on any of his above moments, that's cool too.

Seeking New Stories

Amarlo

Here is my re-submission of Jessie as requested. :)

She also has 3 other siblings, an older brother and two younger sisters. Her mother and father are separated, but haven't officially divorced. Nor have they moved to a different house from one another. This has created tons of drama when one or the other 'try to date' again.
HOME: Trailer Park
HOBBIES: Videogames, five finger discounts, reading, writing, angry rock and metal, singing, musical composition, symphony, getting away with shit.

Jessie's family has lived within the area for generations now. Much of her immediate family lives within 50 miles of Greenfield, and none of them are much better off than the other. Just in Greenfield's trailer trash park alone there seems to be an infestation. It almost seems like every other person in that cesspool married or is related to a Myers one way or another. Let's just say she has a lot of second and third cousins. They have friends just about everywhere too. When you grow up in a small town like this one, everyone seems to have grown up together. That unfortunately brews a community willing to turn a blind eye or soften the blows of consequence - so a lot of the dramas spilling around the large family went largely unhindered.

Most of Jessie's issues were in Elementary school. She got into a lot of confrontations with other kids, but her behavior seemed to take a more commendable shift when she was enrolled into Little League in 4th grade - and we're talking baseball, not softball. She was one of a small handful of girls that participated in the sport and she was rather talented in the area. She fully devoted herself to the sport and fell in love with the game. It wasn't until she started to hit puberty in 7th grade that her personality seemed to take on yet another shift and her interest in the sport slowly disappeared. She became angstier, angrier, and began to isolate herself more and more. She started to smoke, and even experimented a bit in other drugs - no thanks to her family.

By the time she entered high school she became a little more centered and her bad habits consolidated to smoking, drinking and the occasional blunt. That didn't mean her attitude got any better and she walked in with an avid dislike for jock types - especially cheerleaders. Anyone that acted consistently 'peppy' creeped her the hell out, and people that seemed to show interest in her that wasn't blatantly selfish or advantageous to them made her think they were up to something deceptive - so she avoided them like the plague.

These days she’s known as your typical 80's highschool delinquent type - Bratty, loud mouthed, and an outright smart alack.

She's also a pretty decent singer and has participated in a few talent shows despite her misgivings over them.

LostSoul

NAME: Tristan Raines
FACECLAIM: Cameron Monaghan
AGE: 18
HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 5’10” | 125 lbs
HAIR COLOR: Dark red
EYE COLOR: Muddy blue-grey
DISTINGUISHING MARKS: Not yet.

BEST KNOWN FOR: Despite moving to town a little over four years ago, Tristan never shook being "the new kid."
PLANS: To go out in a blaze of glory.
DREAMS: Nightmares. Every night.
Despite his best efforts to cut it away entirely, he's been unable to give up the flicker of hope that there's an actual life out there waiting for him, that he could be a field zoologist somewhere far away.
CAR: Ha! Unless he can talk his parents into letting him borrow the diesel Suburban, he's hoofing it.
PARENTS: Mother and father work at the nearest hospital. His dad works nights. Mom was fortunate enough to score a mostly day shift.
HOME: The usual ranch style suburban home set on a quarter acre lot.
HOBBIES: Escapism; books, computer games, walking, perching somewhere out of sight and just watching people go by, writing, drawing.

ABOUT: Tristan has never felt like he belonged once he hit school age. He still remembers the very first words he heard walking into kindergarten for the very first time; "Go home. Nobody likes you." Spoken by a bright-eyed blonde girl named Janelle Keyes. Of course the teacher wouldn't just let him turn right around and leave, nor had she apparently overheard Janelle, so he found a place of his own to sit on the edge of the "learning circle" and so began the trend that would endure through the rest of school.
Perhaps it would've been different if he wasn't naturally shy. Perhaps it might have been different if he didn't accept those words and others like it at face value.
It wasn't.
He tried though. He believed the teachers when they said he could talk to them. He believed his parents when they assured him they wanted to hear about his day. For a time at least. That was the first truly bitter betrayal, that his parents didn't... couldn't understand what was trying to tell them, that the teachers and faculty couldn't make the mean words, pinches, kicks go away. They'd say soothing things, but the second their attention shifted his classmates were waiting to make him pay.
Even worse, was that he was smart. Tristan was one of those kids who if he paid even half of his attention to the lesson still managed to ace the tests and quizzes. No one likes a know-it-all. By second grade, he would no longer willingly raise his hand in class. Homework seemed pointless, so he didn't do it. He was regularly kept back at recess for one teacher or another to complete their busywork assignments, but since he didn't really have any friends out there to play with, it wasn't much of a punishment.
Tristan did manage to make a friend in grade school. A friend. Singular. For three years, they were virtually inseparable. Until the summer between fifth and sixth grade when Chris under the pretext of a clubhouse initiation talked Tristan into licking an older boy's penis. Chris thought it was a great joke. Tristan was shattered. Trust was just an invitation to betrayal. That moment was the spark that set years of frustration and anger and resentment that had been drifting through his soul like gas fumes into an inferno of hate.
Tristan had settled into the familiar role of school pariah, the nerd that even the other nerds wouldn't hang out with, swallowing back the boiling black pitch of his unhappiness when his parents had informed him they were moving to Greenfield. It was his chance to start over, to pick a different role. He was tired of being "the scrawny geek." This time, he'd be the outsider.
It was surprisingly easy actually. Being the new face amongst a school where nearly everyone else had grown up together assured him of a table by himself at lunch. Hostile sarcasm in response to the extroverted social types trying to "make him feel welcome" had made sure it stuck. Despite playing a few years of soccer when he was younger, sports held no attraction so he never tried out for the teams. Academics just felt like mental masturbation so he felt no urge to join those clubs either. To cut his mother's nagging off at the knees, he engaged just enough to hold a spot as a techie for the school plays and concerts. It wasn't like he didn't already have the wardrobe and no one really bothered you up in the clouds.
Perversely, Tristan attends most of the school functions, especially dances even if he spends most of his time holding up a wall.

MOMENTS OF GLORY: Getting selected as a volunteer at a wildlife rehab center on the edge of town. Getting to spend a few hours around, sometimes even handling, wildlife is pretty much the one thing he actually looks forward to each week.
And there was the sophomore year homecoming dance when he'd randomly asked one of the hot senior girls to a slow dance and she'd accepted. He'd fully expected to get shot down hard, but the rules of his personal variation of Russian roulette were clear. She'd been the first unpartnered girl he'd seen when he'd opened his eyes. She'd even seemed flattered he asked.

MOMENTS OF SHAME: Slipping on a slick of spilled banana pudding on his way to eat in the cafeteria with a full tray in front of everyone in freshman year.
His clothes "accidentally" thrown in with the used gym towels while using the locker room after class. Not only had he endured the indignity of rummaging through that bin naked, but he'd reeked the rest of the day.
Picking an old, frayed rope when he tried to hang himself in his parent's shed so it broke when he stepped off the ladder before he could strangle.

BIGGEST REGRET: Trying.

STORY ARCS: Redemption. Finding an actual relationship. Conflict. (Pm and plot friendly. If you're interested in plotting with me or creating histories, don't hesitate to pm me please!)
"Take another bite/It'll be alright/What's wrong will soon feel right/Dangerous tonight

Take another sip/Let it kiss your lips/And let a little drip on your thighs

If you let me I'll untie your sensuality/I'll open up your heart and satisfy my greed" -A Cooper

I'm interested in playing.  Are you still taking new people?

Yes we are still taking characters of all kinds.

The new recruitment thread is here

Feel free to post a face claim you want. There is a list of claims already taken at the bottom of the Character creation section.

Sorry for the confusion
