Elliquian Herald and Post

It's been a while since I've put one of these up, but since we've celebrated our one-year anniversary and had several new additions to the newspaper since its start, I felt that it would be wonderful if we could introduce more people to this community project!

The Elliquian Herald and Post is an entirely volunteer-run community newspaper, written by members of Elliquiy for members of Elliquiy. This newspaper strives to bring to everyone the small pieces of Elliquiy: the serious pieces, the fun pieces, the social pieces, and everything in between. Elliquiy is composed of many members from all over the world, from many different walks of life, from many different age groups; this newspaper is yet another outlet for creativity, a chance for members to have a voice.

And with no further ado... I bring you the highlights you can look forward to reading from November's issue!

Please remember that if you are NOT an approved member... most of these links won't get you anywhere but an error page. Don't say I didn't warn you!

`Caeli

In A Word From The Editor, Caeli ponders NaNoWriMo, and how the qualities that make writers succeed in writing a 50,000-word novel in thirty days can also apply equally in life.

Valerian delivers a solemn anecdote about her own sobering experiences as a member on this site in Words From The Staff. If there's anything that you should believe about Elliquiy's staff, administration, and rules, it's that it's here to protect you, the member, from people who would seek to harm you or take advantage of you. She implores that members forget about the tags under the names of staff, and report people who would make Elliquiy not so safe a place.

Caeli returns with recent forum highlights in Wheres & Hows of Elliquiy. She covers everything from 2012, to recent announcements by staff, to Windows 7, to the social establishments that have been sprouting up all over Adult Socializing.

Michi no Sora interviews Saku Winchester for this month's Author of the Month. Saku answers some questions about her roleplays and experience on Elliquiy, and gives some personal advice to both new members and old.

Farther down in Game of the Month, Michi interviews members Oniya and Izu about their roleplay, New Worlds.

As always, Valerian brings us another meaty film review in The Movie Critic Next Door. If you're wondering if you should see 2012, perhaps you should make a stop here first! ;)

MzNurse always brings us something interesting for each monthly Health Corner, and this month is no exception. November's edition is potpourri style, with a response to a previous quiz answer, advice to a fellow member on Elliquiy, and a segue into a segment about the gall bladder, and how it factors into your health.

Expect to learn more about some of Elliquiy's oldest members in our Member Spotlight, which features the veterans of the community. Can you believe we've been around for over four years?

If you haven't kept up with the latest happenings around Elliquiy, consider reading the Current Events article by butterflykiss! This month, she covers Kip and Mithlomwen's rise to Sidhehood and Sirenhood, respectively, and interviews October's Monthly Writing Contest Winner, Dreamweaver.

With Elliquiy being an active writer's community, it's no surprise that we have some avid readers in the mix. LadySky brings to the Herald & Post our latest addition, The Reading Nook! Every month, she will review two books and invite other members to write about their current literary fare; this month, you can read about The Wedding (Julie Garwood), A Hunger Like No Other (Kresley Cole), The Men Who Stare At Goats (Jon Ronson), Marly's Choice (Lora Leigh), and What is the What (Dave Eggers).

E-anniversaries and birthdays can be found nowhere else but in the Personals, brought to you by Kip. If you see any of these members around during November, be sure to wish them a happy E-anniversary.

Since we have an article about our oldest members, it wouldn't be right not to have one about our newest! In Newbies Speak Out, Caeli interviews seven newbies about their experience thus far on Elliquiy. See the site from a fresh perspective, and maybe even make a new friend by welcoming one of them to the community!

That concludes the highlights for this month's edition of the Elliquian Herald and Post.
