Killing Kind is a spy game that's been creeping along for a very long time, like six months or so.  I like to think that we've had an amazing bunch of players in that time, most have come and gone for one reason or another, but there's been lots of great writing in the thread.

That said, we still need good new writers to join.  I wonder if some people have avoided the game just because it's oldish and there's a lot of posts already.  The thing is, you don't need to read hardly any of the old stuff, because most of those people have left the game by now.

All you really need to know is that you're playing either a bad-guy-mercenary or a good-guy-double-agent-pretending-to-be-a-mercenary, and you're joining a competition.  In the competition, you will be part of a team that undertakes criminal missions organized by the Bratva, the gang at the head of the Russian Mafiya.  One winner will be eventually chosen out of the team to become the successor of Grushenkov, aka the Shark, the guy who runs the enforcement wing of the Bratva and who wants to retire.

Depending on when you join, you'll need to read the most recent handful of posts, and the character sheets of the current players.  That's it.  Easy, right?  Here's the links:

So come join us for some fun.  Oh, you'll also need to be able to write well, but that just means you should be able to write as well as the current players, and if you've read this far, I'll bet you'll do fine.  The only bad thing about having some well-written posts is that everybody feels pressured to impress everybody else all the time.  Shorter and less-impressive posts are welcome, too; we'd rather keep things moving and fun than wait around forever for some fancy purple prose.  (Nothing against the latter either, of course.)

Hope to hear from you.  PMs are best but posting here is okay too.  Thanks!

P.S.  *Anyone* who's ever been invited to join in the past has a standing invitation to enter the game anytime.  That includes past players who left for some reason, and people who considered joining but then backed out for any reason.  I know how those things go, no big deal -- come play with us now, okay?

Just wanted to point out that we've got SIX ladies and only one guy in the game right now.

Wherefore art thou, Romeos?

I'm somewhat interested... Though the information above about the actual game is a little crude...

What exactly is the game about? You say they have to do missions... What kind of missions? Will flexible morals be necessary?

Can you establish a little more info? Please?

To Odin, SteveO, AlexStone, and any other folks thinking about joining:

Thanks for your interest in the game.  :)

The first step in participating would be for you to read the first post in the Game Thread, and then the most recent handful of posts.  Much of the stuff in between involved players who eventually left the game, so you don't necessarily have to read it.

You should be comfortable with writing stuff that resembles the writing from the other current players:  me, Chelemar, Rachubka, Arhys, Larrinia, RedEve, and Lady Kitsune.  Don't worry about this too much; length and complexity of posts can vary a lot.  But, naturally, if you're writing at a very different level from what's already in the thread, you won't fit in very smoothly.  If there's a problem, we'll discuss it and work something out.

Next, read the character profiles of the current players, and then send me some info about a character you'd like to play.  I can help with suggestions, but the more preferences you can express and the more details you can come up with, the better my suggestions will be.  Keep in mind, as it said above, that you're playing either a bad-guy-mercenary or a good-guy-double-agent-pretending-to-be-a-mercenary, and you're joining a competition to become the successor of Grushenkov, the guy who runs the enforcement wing of the Bratva/Russian Mafiya and who wants to retire.

Here's those links again if you need them.
