Okay Guys Who ready for the new Bioshock Infinate, What are your thoughts on a whole new perspective on the game as it isnt set under the ocean in the good old city of Rapture were as this game will be set in the sky on a floating city called Columbia, What are your thoughts on the Perspective being female instead of having it as Jack in Bioshock, and if you playing Bioshock which one is your favourite one, One or Two Let me know

Inkidu

From what I read in the Game Informer featured article the perspective is still male. Thankfully though, they're dropping that whole silent protagonist bit. They rather mercenary character you play as has his own personality and mind. He talks too. He's charged with retrieving this young lady from a castle in the sky basically. It's like a bent Disney movie and I have to say despite my caution about the trailer I like that idea.
If you're searching the lines for a point, well you've probably missed it; there was never anything there in the first place.

pandaandthelion

Yeah Oh well Wikipedia has it wrong again it says its going to be a female Perpective Well it would be cool to play a game like that, and yeah so do i disney movie that has been twisted like beauty and the beast hahaha lo

Ah, Wikipedia. Sure knowledge should be available to everyone, but should everyone have the ability to edit it?

Columbia looks awesome. They said the shooter is all real-time. No backgrounds. If you see a building in the distance it is rendered.

Yeah true people should be able to change it unless they work for wikipedia company its stupid cause people use that for school work and if its wrong then they will fail because of people editing it

and guessing you play bioshock whats your favourite one or two, i personally like two because with the whole eve usage you dont have to keep stabbing a needle into you with the first one

Really everyone of my professors at college says right off the bat, you can use Wiki to FIND sources, BUT not to use it AS a source.

pandaandthelion

Thats True Callie but even still the source could be wrong aswell which is stupid they should just get rid of the editing feature on wikipedia unless you work for the foundation is silly that people can change whatever they want

Callie Del Noire

Well, most of the external links I've checked for my papers tend to work but then I tend towards sources that end in .edu, and .gov and .org for mine. :"D

So I'm hyped for Bioshock infinite.  Though I wonder why put the "bioshock" name on it since it doesn't seem at all related to the other games, not that it matters.

It seems like it'll be fun and I'll love having an environment that wasn't as claustrophobic as Rapture..  My main problem with rapture was you couldn't see enough of it, the windows were so few and far between you couldn't see the gorgeous sprawling city scape you saw when you first went down.  It would have been nice to be able to see the buildings under water, or larger rooms etc.  Not ever place in rapture could be a tiny little corridor..

They fixed that a bit in bioshock 2, the under water sequences let you see more.  But it would have been cool in BS:1 to look out a window now and again and see sort of where you moved "so I was in the medical wing before,  and the casino I was in was over there"  Anyway.  I just thought the whole underwater city thing could have been more visual since otherwise it could have been any tiny little corridor with a cool backstory.

Bioshock 2, eh. You got to play as a big daddy but you were weak, and I know everyone says that's because you couldn't make the player over powered but I think they should have redesigned enemy encounters and the play etc.  They made it too like BS:1.  They should have focused on larger rooms and levels for larger fights.  Instead of being a big daddy and fighting a few super tough enemies at once, making you feel weak as a big daddy, they should have been throwing 10, or 20 or 30 smaller slicers at you at a time, letting you deal with mob management and have fun being powerful while still having the challenge of having to fight off Hordes of slicers.  Which would have made more sense too since Big daddys were walking targets in rapture.

But BS: Infinite looks promising, having a sort of companion character with the girl should be fun, an I'm curious to see the new "big daddy" types that will be a more support class than damaging.   The Game informer preview made it look great.  The zip line things look fun too, flying around on those while shooting at enemies should be highly entertaining!

Infinite does 2 things for me.

The first is it confirms that 'chairs filled with boiling water being smart turrets' is actually an invention from the above world and not a BS advancement of Adam. So even though the evil ending and the beginning for Bioshock 1 suggests otherwise, it's pretty safe to assume that the whole world is actually steampunk (since BS:I takes place BEFORE Rapture)

The second is it renders Rapture and it's achievements totally unimpressive to me... oh look! A lost, isolated city with gene warping tonics that gift you amazing powers! Wow! Just like that floating city deal ages ago.

Seriously, how did Columbia get Plasmids?! Did Columbia and Rapture both make extremely similar discoveries and neither was aware of the other? Very hard to get my head around a lost city in the sky getting powers from mutant seagulls, and then a lost city in the ocean getting identical powers from mutant sea slugs.

pandaandthelion

Yeah i Agree with the Whole bioshock makes you feel Claustrophobic like i felt you didnt have enough room to fully move around cause some rooms were locked and had no way of unlocking them and that point that you cant see everything felt weird which is why it looked Claustophobic, and yes infinate does look promising i hope it is cause i love bioshock one and two i like both i dont exactly have a fav one cause like you said that BS2 made you feel weak it did cause you had a big enemy and like 10 splicers it was annoying

so if you were a creator of bioshock how would you change in would you change the characters or what weapons you could use, would you change the location to another planet or stay on earth or still underwater and change it differently to more open and such.

Sabby

Well, BS may be licensed for 8 games, so... okay, we get Bioshock, Sea of Dreams, Infinite, then... Rapture, a prequel. Land and Sea, a water world story. In Space! Moon and asteroid colonies. Then Underworld, living under ground... then we get the predictable Post Apoc scene.

Not being serious by the way. I was about the possible 8 Bioshock games, but not the rest.

I'm gonna have to go back and double check but I'm pretty sure the article in Game Informer said that BS: Inifinite was not related to the other two Bioshocks as far as story, set in it's own "universe".  And the tonics in BS: Infinite  I believe are supposed to be quite different from plasmids.

Okay, that would make it much easier to swallow :)

They're big glass jugs you stick in your arm for powers. They're Plasmids, regardless of how they wanna write them up.

They work differently. Instead of a single ability that relies on Eve to run. They have a set amount of uses. Some have more some have less. I thought he drank them too. I might be wrong on that. They're called Vigors by the way. >,>
If you're searching the lines for a point, well you've probably missed it; there was never anything there in the first place.

Then they're limited Plasmids you drink. Still Plasmids.

They're actually more powerful. You can yank away someone's gun with the telekinesis vigor and shoot them with it psychic stile.

And if you're going that route: Plasmids are just hypodermic super mushrooms and fire flowers :p

well it seems interisting and I'll have to buy it I think
Prudence, justice, temperance, courage, faith, hope, love...
debate any other aspect of my faith these are the heavenly virtues. this flawed mortal is going to try to adhere to them.

Culture: the ability to carve an intricate and beautiful bowl from the skull of a fallen enemy.
Civilization: the ability to put that psycho in prision for killing people.

The CREEPIEST part of the action play I've seen so far is the person at the beginning sweeping while the building burns down.

Creepy!

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh That looks so good i cant wait till it comes out i wish it would hurry up and come out already but no it wont till 2012/2013 :( but i love the game its looks even better than the first two altough it looks harder than the first two but oh well more the fun when its harder :D:D

Inkidu

Yeah seriously, I saw the article. It looked almost done.

Seriously the pics for the Dragon Age 2 article didn't look a tenth as good as the Bioshock Infinite and DA 2 is hitting shelves in February.
