And the captain's bio is up :)

You might need to make a couple adjustments... since I don't think people born in the real world can enter the Matrix. Can they?

Ah crap that's the first draft of the bio, I posted the wrong one  /facepalm Thanks for that Veluux :P

JDrew Spider

Wow, don't know how I missed that.  Thanks Vel, also being that everyone (mostly) is apart of the Meggedion I'll expect your characters to have known each other for some time.

So as I type up my bio for the One... how long has he been freed from the Matrix? I'm just trying to get a gauge on how much of his power he has discovered at this point. Like about what point in the movies is he as far as believing in himself? Is it before his first fight with an agent, or after? Or can he already completely bend the rules of the Matrix to his will?

All right. So my character sheet is up and my Bio DEFINITELY needs to be looked at and approved - as I basically took all the idea's mentioned in the concept and put them into an 'after-the-last-Matrix' timeline. Like the next part in the story after the Peace that Neo created fails. I'm hoping you like the idea, but I can always change it to fit a pre-Neo type of World and Matrix if that is what you had in mind. It just seemed like there is a new plot concept here... so I went with it. ^.^

You claim somewhere in there being in need of females. *Raises a hand* Pick me!

Vague character concept: I don't really like jumping in the middle of relationship. Could my girl be a young-ish character (early 20's) and be the ship's hacker/medic ? Think Mouse with the medical knowledge of a nurse who just joined the ship?

Currently MIA, not available for  RP

I'm not sure exactly the timeline of the movie, but I would say  in just several months after he was freed he starts to believe in himself. At this point at the start of the story Neo would be doing some amazing things, but there are skpetics and of course his worst enemy will be innately himself. I'd say after his first fight with an agent.

I'd like to mention that I think this idea is completely insane, but my muse is at me with a pitchfork and threatening me that if I don't ask, it'll run me through send help

JD thought the concept was very interesting and a liable sub-plot, but if you guys don't like the idea/think it's a little powergame-y, I'll remove everything in the spoiler tags and change the backstory so that he's simply a little cracked from being removed from his family. To note is that this current version of the character is still very new to the ship (no more than a few weeks,) though I'm pretty sure I hinted at that in the bio.

Short bio
Family. Family was the most important thing in the world, a fact Warren knew, deep in his heart. He had made one for himself, a decade ago-- a loving wife, two beautiful daughters. A happy life. He was successful, forward thinking, gregarious.

Naive. Warren was naive, a fact Warren knew, deep in his mind. The world was false, an illusion, a dissasociated construct that never really existed. Only the people were real, and just as naive. And there was something else, something dangerous, cunning, hunting him down.

Broken. The mind was broken, a fact the Machines knew, deep in  their circuitry. Warren was not one person; he was three, or four, or five. He suffered from dissasociative personality disorder, and they would take full advantage of the fact.

An experiment. The experiment had failed, a fact the Architect knew,, deep at it's core. The merge of Warren's mind and the program known as Savant had collapsed the mindstate, driving the man to psychosis. The slate had to be cleaned, the records-- and the mind-- wiped. And Warren was part of the Matrix no more.

*

Freedom. Freedom was bittersweet, a fact Gemini knew, deep in his soul.  He lost his family, his life, his illusion. He had not lost his mind, but now-- he had to share it.

Savant, it called itself. And it fully intended to stick around.

I'm sorry, I really am. WALL O' TEXT, COMIN' THROUGH.
An explanation to the GM, or I'd Like to Make a Suggestion

Christopher Warren was the first attempt to merge man and Machine. Chosen for his existing psychological trauma, they had tried to surgically add a new personality- the Savant. A program designed to intuitively assimilate the human mind into the perfect, pseudo-synthetic slave, it found that the conflicting personalities only made it more difficult to perform its intended purpose. And so it collapsed Warren's personalities, simultaneously teaching the subject the true nature of the digital world they occupied. The relevation temporarily drove Warren right over the brink, a psychosis that both alarmed and damaged the now immersed program. The results were grim: too much risk for such little reward. And so a digitized copy of the mindstate was put to dead storage, and an attempt to wipe Warren and Savant clean, and then dump the body, was initiated.

But Savant had also learned from Warren. Self-preservation consumed it, and so it saved itself by disconnecting the man from the Matrix. The Machines, thinking the task had been completed, flushed Warren's unconscious body into the vast sewer system below the energy-collection stalks, where he was discovered by the Meggedion. Initially confused by the man's origins, the increased number of ports and fresh surgical scars surrounding some of them, the crew took him in for examination. Preliminary medical analysis found that a second access jack was connected to an implanted hard storage device linked to his mind through complex neuroware. When Warren failed to awaken for several weeks, the secondary jack was accessed first, activating Savant; the program immediately went to work making repairs to Warren's fractured mind, before shutting itself down.

When Warren was unjacked, now conscious and bewildered, he was thoroughly interrogated. They found that he had only brief, vague recollections of his former life. His memories were those of a loving family, happier days-- but also of darkness, and secrets. When they reattempted to access Savant through the secondary jack, it was Warren who appeared. The same happened with the primary jack as well. it was not until the fifth attempt to jack him into the system's program suite that Savant reappeared. It did little to confirm or elaborate, however; the program was quite patently insane, partially corrupted and uninterested in trying to figure out what exactly had happened. Worse, when unjacked, Savant was the dominating personality, and remained so for several days.

Now, the crew of the Meggedion has a difficult decision to make; though broken, Gemini (the name Warren chose for himself upon discovering the split in his personality) is still a valuable, and potentially willing, tool. But what are Savant's motivations? How can they be sure he will not surface when Gemini is jacked into the Matrix? And if he does; what then?

Psychological Profile:
Gemini is more or less healthy. Although he suffers the gamut of depression, incredulity and withdrawal that is present in most recently freed minds, the problems should not persist much longer. What is dangerous is the possibility that Gemini begins to develop an actual split from Savant. As it stands, the latter is capable of remembering things that Gemini witnessed, and vice versa, allowing a certain degree of uniformity between the two. Should Gemini come to loathe and repress Savant, however, the divide will widen; his condition will deteriorate into one similar to true dissasociative personality disorder, with all the memory lapses and extreme range of emotion that entails. Worse, there is evidence that Savant is literally the Atlas of Gemini's sanity; should it shrug, his mind may literally shatter.

Savant is a great deal more complex. To the crew, it appears insane, although there seems to be a very alien method to it's madness. In the real world, it is incredibly naive. When it actually does understand "human" concepts, much of it is lost translation, taken very literally, or just twisted. It also suffers from a plethora of traditionally human mental disorders. Most notably, it seems borderline schizophrenic; it is hypervigilant, paranoid, and a little delusional, though not necessarily violent. There have also been episodes of short fugues akin to petit mal ("Petit Lag", as it calls it,) seizures. Most of these conditions seem non-existent while jacked, although the hypervigilance and underlying paranoia is still present.

Skillsets:
Gemini is currently too new to the ship to collect the vast array of skills more experienced members may possess. He is capable of "bending" the rules now, but his mind is still too firmly rooted in the idea of a "real" world in the Matrix. He is, however, surprisingly hard to kill; he's taken several gunshot wounds to the chest and survived long enough to disconnect safely and seek medical attention aboard the ship. Oddly, the few times he does bend the rules, it is in strange, unpredictable ways. Bullets have swerved off to the right to nail him in the shoulder instead of the sternum, agents have chased him down only to find themselves in the wrong alleyway, and crew members swear he "deja vus" much like some of the underlying Matrix programs, passing through a room twice over the same path- despite the fact that the next room only has one entrance.

Savant, on the other hand, appears to have an intuitive understanding of the Matrix, as if having it's own operator screen that it can read with great fluidity. It senses changes made to the Matrix, has an uncanny sense of direction and localization, and thoroughly understands the infrastructure behind the world's many programs, capable of using exploits that seem borderline arcane to most humans and making accurate predictions using telemetric analysis. The trade off, of course, is that-- as a program-- Savant is as bound to the laws of the Matrix as any still-sleeping mind. He cannot perform high-flying acrobatics or the incredible leaps of faith that are so common to other crew members and is, ironically, more human when it comes to extreme acts of strength or speed. It seems to share Gemini's resilience however, for what that's worth.

Same reason that I haven't really jumped in quite yet. That and I've had a busy week, with a busier one coming next week. August should be much calmer though, and I should be able to get back to regular writing.

GM UPDATE

Okay lovelies so the story will start with a short snippet of the Architect and Oracle in conversation about the last days of Humanity. In the meantime I'll still be recruiting since we need two people to play programs. I do believe we have enough crew if not I'll add more.

Everyone make sure to go over your profiles and adjust if need be. Obviously the crew of the Meggedion will know each other. Feel free to use NPC's were necessary. Right now they crew will start preparing to leave the City of Zion after receiving news from the Oracle so she can tell them about the whole 'end of days' schtick and " you have 60 days before chaos etc..."

Meanwhile Agents will be everywhere in the Matrix as usual and one Agent in particular will have access to the real world. The Transgressor will makes his debut in the Matrix too. Any questions? Suggestions? Ok GO!

SN: Yes I am still waiting for other profiles, so don't feel rushed just take your time.
