Excellent ^^  No one wanting to double so far though?

I have a character profile sitting around somewhere. I'll find it and tweak it for this setting.
When you absolutely, positively have to kill it with fire...accept no substitutes.

Nazora

Name: Luthien Coamene
Race: Elven
Age: 49
Native Locale: South Lands
Height: 5'7
Weight: 131

Personality: Luthien was a tomboy from an early age. She seems more human than elven. Many people are surprised to find out that she is indeed an elf on the rare occasions her hair is moved back to reveal her pointy ears. She loves to climb trees, ride animals, and explore the wilderness. If someone is doing something that irritates her she is not hesitant to pick a fight. Though the main things that irritate her are needless cruelty, abusive people, and those who speak ill of southern elves. Her temper can get the best of her when goaded. She is very fond of humans and prefers to live among them rather than her own people, though the lowest and basest among them she finds quite fowl. She considers her speed and agility her greatest asset in combat.

History: At the age of fourteen Luthien left the southern forests to explore the world and have adventures. She has had a little success as an explorer since then. She has seen several regions and been to several great cities. Primarily an explorer and mapmaker, she has taken jobs as a monster hunter, treasure hunter, guide, and even waitress to make ends meet.

Pets: Wildo, a ferret she has tamed herself, has been a faithful companion to her for about two years now. He is useful for retrieving items from very tight spaces.

Skills: Hunting, fishing, monster tracking, exploring, mapping, hiking, swimming, archery, racing, horseback riding, taming of animals.

Strengths: Speed and Agility.

Weaknesses: She finds herself rather lacking in strength. Her cooking has not improved in the past thirty years. Because she has neglected her studies to adventure outside elven lands her knowledge of elven culture and history is now much less than her knowledge of humans. She is not quite as intellectual or as well versed in magic as most elves, much of this is because she is still quite young.
All about what I like!

Info: I find that 98% of the time my interest in a story outlasts that of the other party. If you are no longer interested in continuing a story, please let me know promptly so I'm not checking the thread.  Thank you.

Name: Branchesca, Leglius
Age: 42
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Personality: By the books, hard ass, strict, protective.  Very quiet and punctual. Seems easily phased when people get out of order.

Job: Captain of the guard, retired.

Unique Weaponry - Bladed disks the size of small shields. Uses mixed martial arts to make proper use of them.

Physically large. 210 lbs 6'3", muscular build, X scar across left eye to rear lower jaw and left temple to chin. Strong points are strength and endurance.

History: Captain of the guard for more than ten years, Leglius was nearly married to his work after losing his wife and daughter to raiders, he became even more pro-occupied with his job. Eventually grief caught up with him and he drowned himself in alcahol. His subordinates relieved him of his position and Leglius was forced to retire. Unable to fully kick the habit or the need to engage in combat to relieve stress, he turned to the life of a mercenary.

I said I wouldn't take any more game but I had one group game go nowhere so I'll replace it with this one.  :-)

I'm very interested.
well we have plenty of room ^^  welcome to the game!

Silk

Just to note, I am still interested, just not sure what direction to take my character at the moment.

That's fine hun.

nightender

I have the same problem, Silk.  I think I might make two characters, though I need to spell out one of those characters before I can do anything.

I hope to get something up soon.

KeyOfTwilight

The OOC has been updated with the characters we have thus far.  I'd like to get this going in the next day or so if everyone wants to try and get at least one character made, or bow out if you don't want to anymore ^^

nightender

Name: Thomas Alexander
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Appearance: Over six feet tall, lean build.  Short brown hair, clean shaven.  Blue eyes.  Wears black pants and a matching shirt, along with a long, dark brown coat.
Personality:  Driven, competitive, ready for a thrill or an adventure

Job: Bodyguard, Sword for hire

Weapons - Katana with a 30 inch blade, Shuriken, 8 inch hunting knife

History: After finishing his initial training, Thomas took on the first assignment he could, guard duty.  He collided with another guard to block an arrow aimed at a noble lady.  The act not only got Thomas a reputation as a protector of wealthy women, but also his brothers in arms.  Some, however, saw him as a gloryhound, which wasn't entirely untrue.  Thomas wanted to be a man of worth, admired by others.  He was capable, but had much more to prove.

Thank ya much ^^  I'm transferring it to the OOC thread!

Silk

Name: Azure
Age: 47
Gender: female
Height: 4”7”
Weight: 105
Race: Faykind
Appearance:

Personality:  Aloof, faithful, caring, suspicious of humans.

Job: Priestess, Archer Maiden

Weapons - Bow and arrows, Weak water magic

History: Azure was born in a small temple within the outskirts of the highlands, at the base of the natural spring which lead to one of the country's greatest rivers, due to its elevation the area surrounding the spring is often laden with snow. Since birth Azure has been trained as one of the priestesses of the temple, charged with guarding one of the ones most predominant fresh water sources. She has been trained in some weak water based magic as well as combat with the ceremonial bows used by the temple in their defence of the spring.

The lead priestess who received a vision of a possible danger to the spring, sent Azure into the world, telling her that she would know what to do when the time came, and to prevent the destruction of one of the country's water supply.

Added it to the OOC.  Lets see if we can get one or two more people with their characters and i'll start it.

This sounds very interesting to me, especially if "transformation" might include a character changing gender, or having changed (magically) at some point before the game starts. And the northern setting, stretching into an unknown region, is appealing to me too. I'm from Sweden myself and spent some early years near the arctic circle, though not in a rank wilderness. I'll try to come up with a good character: probably female though she may once have been male in some sense.

Well, the idea with the plot is that transformations wouldn't take place until later on.

But we're talking of gender transformation, not species transformation (human to elf etc), are we? I'll take a closer look at the OOC thread soon, but from this thread it seems there isn't a definite and detailed backstory yet. In any case, dwarves and men transforming into elves or the like is an alien cconcept to most "middle-earth-style" fictional universes, which I assume is the kind we are moving inside here. So I guess that's not the kind of change you're after?

Would the transformations happen under the influence of the unknown or obscure creatues and forces inhabiting the northern terra incognita? Or are they the consequence of something that's already part of the nature of the person getting ransformed, or of his/her personality or destiny? And if there are gender changes they would also affect the position of the character, what he/she is likely to do, is allowed to do? Such as a male archer being transformed into a slave woman or a witch?

 I'm interested :D

here's an outline of the character I had in mind.

Name: Alexandra Jenine King     (Alex)
Age: 21
Gender: female
Height: 5'5
Weight: 60 kg.
Race: Human
Appearance:
with chest nut brown eyes.
Personality:  Critical, Analytical, caring, Hot headed, sarcastic, generally nice and funny, stubborn, moody, romantic.

Weapons: hand to hand combat, sword, and occasionally the bow and arrow.

History:  Alex'smother had died a little after she was born, leaving her to live with her father. Years later under his harsh training, she mastered many things one of which is her hand to hand combat, he believed as a young lady she should have a lethal weapon -her hand- in case anyone tried to harm her, and in more times than one his training was put to use. As she grew she got more and more interested in things that she wasn't supposed to do. But after her father's death when she was sixteen, she felt this sudden awareness between right and wrong, and things to do and things not to do, she had lived with her uncle and aunt until she was able to buy herself a small apartment in the oldest sides of town, where she learned a lot about the wild life, and her constant reading helped her understand a lot of life's natural disasters.

General first impression:  Too confident, Loner, hard to please, her general outlook gives you the impression that she is content and pleased even if she was deeply hurt. in her good days, she would probably be described as an outgoing, nurturing character.

Weakness: Snakes, Spiders, her fears are her weaknesses, and her heart. She usually hides what she feels, in opposite to what she does about what she thinks, anything in the mind is said, anything in the heart is buried deep down, where no one would reach but herself.

All good questions.  The plotline was a bit lacking in telling what will happen, since I want it to be a surprise to be found out, rather than say "This is how it will go down."  I'm playing more the role of a GM/DM than a character, so in a lot of ways what happens may depend on how you all choose to face the Issues and NPCs I put in your way.  I can say it will be a mix of race/gender transformation, sometimes more sometimes less.  The way they change, however, will be hardly middle earth style, none of what I'm working with in the transformations would be found anywere in Tolkien or similar lore.

good one, ill pst her to the OOC thread.

I have a feeling this is going to be a very odd RP for my character. He’s a purely academic man surrounded by people who have trained for years to fight monsters. I mean he is going to be running away from everything we see

But I never did say the caravan had to be all combatants.  It goes to figure some would want to study what was going on, not just kill it.

Skyrider

This looks fun.  If at all possible, I would really like to take on the role of an evil creature.  I have a pretty good idea of the character and an image for his transformation if that's okay.  If so I can show you the image of what his transformed state would look like.

Name: Naomi Cordel

Race: Human

Age: 24

Height: 5'6

Weight: 127 pounds

Personality: Naomi is calm and analytical. She does not like conflict or fighting of any kind. The reason she likes to travel is to observe new things for the documentaries she writes. She loves to observe and learn about new things. Because of her noble lineage she tends to be spoiled as to the comforts of life and does not like to go without. At times she can be downright selfish. If there is something she knows much about she is always eager to explain about it to others, though her explanations can become long winded. Naomi is very modest and quite shy concerning romantic matters. She likes handsome men who are dashing and strong, yet at the same time she seeks someone more, or at least as intellectual then her and someone who shares her love of books and archeology.

Appearance: She wears glasses to correct nearsightedness. At all times she dresses professionally.

History: Naomi Cordel was born of the minor noble house of Cordel. Of a small selection of professions the family was known for, Naomi choose to teach history at a local university. Eventually, she developed a love of archeology and decided to explore less civilized regions of the world that lay outside her small kingdom.

Profession: Teacher, archeologist.

Other notes: She has a servant who attends to her and performs menial tasks.

As I've said before, for the story, transformations will not take place before or at the beginning, it has to progress before that happens, and before people can think of how they will transform.  Context and plot play a lot into it.  If you;d like to play, however, there is still room ^^

Skyrider

That includes villain characters who are not a part of the hired mercs?  Cause I was hoping to be a character that is already influenced by whatever or whomever is causing the transformations, and my character would be one of the people that help push the events to progress surrounding the mercs.

Right now I'm not looking for any characters like that, I'm sorta running that side myself.
