I think another of this ilk sort of fizzed for reasons unrelated to how vivid the world is.

Would any want to role play this theme ?

I'm very interested... I'll work on a profile.
I've been in a rut lately, but I'm working on catching up. Sorry for any delay.

Foxfyr

It depends on the story you have in mind, but I would absolutely love to play something based in Skyrim. :-)

AndyZ

I think you need to post more about your idea.  I'm interested but need more info as well.

Presumably, we'd all make someone to be part of the various Guilds.  I also wouldn't recommend having any one person be Dovakiin, or if you do, the Dovakiin wouldn't be a head of any of the Guilds, allowing a strange sort of balance of power.

Someone would also have to GM to invent some kind of story, and things would have to go somewhere from there.  However, that's all guesswork on my part.
It's all good, and it's all in fun.  Now get in the pit and try to love someone.

If I've owed you a post for at least a week, poke me.

Kate

i was hoping for co-gm and everyone at about level 20 or so,
from different affliliations, I have some idea for some new enemies and towns fighting.

what the group does it up to them but i provide oppitunities.

AndyZ

Would a mage be locked into the various spells of the game, or would a more open system of magic be acceptable?  Console games tend to be rather limited in spellcraft, for obvious reasons.

I might be interested on the condition that there is a re-enactment of the lusty argonian maid!

I'm very interested in this. :)  On the condition that I get to be the lusty Argonian.

In all seriousness, I'd like to be apart of this, looks fun!
Ragtime Dandies!

Laughing Hyena

Hmm... Im definitely getting my interest peaked but Im thinking either an Orc or Breton hmm....

Foxfyr

I'm all about the Khajiit, though rather than playing an assassin/thief style character I'm thinking something more along the lines of a master of unarmed combat.  Perhaps incorporate low level touch spells into his attacks?

If nobody else is wanting to, I would be willing to step up and help Kate as co-GM.  Would anybody be interested in a main storyline that involves an uprising of the foresworn?

Wyrd

Would this uprising take place before the dragons return, or after Alduin's eventual defeat?
Ragtime Dandies!

Foxfyr

I'm thinking far enough after to allow Skyrim to return to business as usual in the wake of the war and the return of the dragons.  This way we don't worry about interfering with lore that has already been established and we can carry about out our story with a clean slate ahead of us.

Laughing Hyena

So we are dealing with the fact that the end result of Markaths main quest had the Dovahkin release the Forsworn King from the silver mines. Okay fair enough.

Me Im all for this idea. Personally I think the Thalmor regardless of the wars outcome would still be in Skyrim trying to stomp out Talos and I can get down with that as well. Theres no shortage of wrong to right... or make worse if you want. :-)

Kate

I think set it as a generation or so after the skyrim ends (I have not completed the game).

So what really happened is caked in conjecture and many bards sing of different versions of what the dragonborn did, some talk of the dragonborn being a myth and no such individual did those things.

Still dragons are gone, dragon bones themselves are over the shop but no one person really has much of an idea, as the dragonborn was busy doing the stuff not writing a journal (or the journal was lost etc).

So effectively clean slate.

People can play as lusty sexy characters as they want, if you want to role play bunting everything that moves thats ok.

There will be several plots not all have to join the same one, you can break up into small groups, re-meet each other etc.

Towns will have their own politics and you can be as involved in them as much or as little as you like, but a new evil menance will appear or several - and i / others keen on co-gm'ing will take some liberties on this.

As far as spells go - anything in the pc version is fine, you are all about level 20ish, and have the buying power of say 20,000 gold or so... however you wish to use it is up to you.

You can assume you have one or two escorts with you like a follower, but they are not that powerful ... if you want to / more like a messenger / scout or bannermen / body guards etc (a powerful witch would likely throw money at a few trained body guards, it doesn't make sense not to)

None are dragon born. Dragons no longer plague the world.

DomShark

I could work with this.

Could I work up a Dark Brotherhood Listener character who might be just a little bit crazy so as to create a little havoc in the role of antagonist? I'm sure he'd ruffle enough feathers to keep the heroes indignant.
I've been in a rut lately, but I'm working on catching up. Sorry for any delay.

Laughing Hyena

Think its possible for a level 20 character to be a listener in the Dark Brotherhood?

Foxfyr

Personally I would prefer to avoid having any guild/clan leaders in our group. While having them affiliated with an organization is fine, one would think somebody at the tippy top or next to it would have their hands full running things to go gallivanting with a bunch of mid-level adventurers.

Kate

Loki Aesir love you to be a co gm - keep things loose and open and it will help :)
as best you can

Foxfyr

Thanks Kate, I'm looking forward to getting things under way.  :-)

Since it seems we have plenty of people interested, a character sheet template will be up sometime this evening. Also, I think we've decided upon a different route for gear to accommodate our low-mid level characters. We will limit starting equipment to being items that can be crafted at 50 smithing (plate and scale armor as well as orcish) or lower. On top of that you can have three items with medium level enchantments. Since this is a freeform game a lot of that stuff is for aesthetics anyways, but it also makes room for better gear along the way and encourages the group to go treasure hunting. ;)

Wyrd

Nice. can't wait to get this under way. :)  I erge the gm's to try and sorta maybe keep everyone following the same plot line and keep all the side plots still relating to the main or else i can forsee this maybe getting a little all over the place, and that's when people start dropping. Just my two cents
Ragtime Dandies!

Foxfyr

As promised, here's the character template:

Name:
Gender:
Race:
Age:
General Appearance:
Affiliation(s):
Major Skills: (Choose 2*)
Minor Skills: (Choose 2*)
Brief Bio:
Weapon(s): (See note**)
Apparel: (See note**)
Gear:

*For the sake of this game we're using the 18 skill categories in Skyrim and also bringing back Acrobatics, Atheltics, and Hand to Hand from Oblivion.  Since this is a freeform game, major and minor skills are used to give everybody an idea of your specialty.

**We will limit starting equipment to being items that can be crafted at 50 smithing (plate and scale armor as well as orcish) or lower.  Selecting Smithing as a major skill lets you use ebony and minor unlocks glass for your starting gear. On top of that you can have three items with medium level enchantments.

Name: M'Raviir
Gender: Male
Race: Khajiit
Age: 27
General Appearance: Grey fur with black tiger stripes accented by silver from his muzzle to his abdomen.  M'Raviir's eyes are the sort of pale blue that would make a husky envious, while providing a certain softness to his bestial appearance.  His triangular feline ears have an array of golden hoops that trace along its edge in the traditional Khajiit fashion.  As one would expect from one so closely related to feral hunting cats, his agile frame is comprised of lean muscle that carries more power than one may suspect at first glance.
Affiliation(s): None
Major Skills: Hand-to-Hand, Block
Minor Skills: Destruction, Alchemy
Brief Bio: M'Raviir grew up in the rough streets of Windhelm.  At least it was rough to anybody who wasn't a Nord and Khajiit are among the furthest from the Skyrim natives.  Despite the open hostility he experience on nearly a daily basis, he took it all in stride and refused to allow their prejudice to break his good natured personality.  There had been several times where his resolve wavered and it was only through finding comfort in moon sugar that he was able to cope during the worst of times.  That was not to say he simply bowed to their oppression and actually became quite the skilled brawler as a result.  It took him several years until he finally managed to find an opportunity to start a new life and leave behind the bleak towering walls of Windhelm, even if he still maintained a certain affinity for moon sugar.
Weapon(s): Steel Plate Gauntlets (Fortify Unarmed)
Apparel: Expert Robes of Destruction, Hood, Fine Boots, Gold Emerald Ring (Fortify Health Regen)
Gear:
Apothecary Satchel

-Moon Sugar
Belt
-Potions of Healing
-Potions of Minor Magika
Knapsack
-Book: Words of Clan Mother Ahnissi
-Bedroll
-Food/Drink
-Gold (500)

Question Mark

VERY interested.  Not sure if we're sticking with the Forsworn plot, but here's a spin we could incorporate into any plot we use.

Our merry band could be professional dragon hunters or be enlisted by a professional dragon hunter.  In hunting down a particular dragon (who could serve as a Big Bad as well), we get tied up in the Main Plot, whatever it may be.  In any case, my character will be a dragon hunter.  Could be for fame and riches, or maybe a personal thing, or maybe he knew the Dovahkiin, or whatever.

As for the main plot, here's some ideas:
- THALMOR WAR 2.0 :O  Thalmor try to invade a certain city we are in.  Oh hell no!
- The High Queen Elisif has been assassinated!  By chance events, the PCs get tangled up in the resulting conspiracy, either as misaccused suspects or as bystanders turned avengers, or some-such.
- For some reason, one of us gets chosen by a Daedric Prince (probably Hircine, Molag Bol, or Sheogorath) and is hunted relentlessly by his agents.  The other PCs also become targeted when they unwittingly help save the poor fellow when he is attacked, and must set off to settle matters with the Daedric Prince.
- Forsworn!  I don't know much about them, so I don't know how to work it into a plot.

Eh?  EH??
