Reporting offensive avatars, how?

So I was looking through a thread I usually follow and saw an avatar that immediately caused me to cringe, it had a deep sense of wrongness to it. I am sure the person made it as a joke, but I found it very offensive and I think others might as well. How do I report this or do something without being over reactive?

to make a report, you Private Message one of the Mods! there is usually a list of Mods who are online at the bottom of the Main page. highlighted in pink/purple (i can't tell what color it actually is but it's one of those). please include the full name of the person,

OR, you can click on one of their posts and there will be a Report Post option. simply write in the 'reason for report' section that you are reporting the Avatar.
