Six service handguns - said to be Glock pistols - and about three hundred expanding dumdum bullets have been stolen from a supposedly safe arms cabinet at a key headquarters building of the Swedish government, in downtown Stockholm. They belonged to a cache of extra guns to be used in a critical situation, such as a terrorist attack within or up close to the building, and the theft happened almost a month back but hasn't leaked into the news media until now.

The guys interviewed about it on the tv news were a sorry show - the man from the well-known security company that's responsible for that bit (no it's not part of the army or special forces, it seeems) basically said: "No comments - I can't even confirm that there's been a grab or that we are employed at the object in question - this is all classified information!".  :P Gimme a break...  C:)

Someone in marketing has sincerely misunderstood how to use shock/surprise to gain attention. It doesn't work of the message is muddled.

There was stuff during the transition period, too.  Egypt had called for a pushback against the settlements in Palestinian territory and the incoming administration made calls trying to get people to delay the vote or vote against Egypt's motion.  After Egypt delayed the vote, three other countries reintroduced the motion, Flynn called Kislyiak (sp), who told him Russia would not vote against it.  The measure passed 14-0 with the US abstaining.

Prince Andrew, who had earlier been saying that he needed another interview to sort things out, has now said that he will step down from public duties "for the foreseeable future", which probably means for ever.
He did finally mention his sympathy for Epstein's victims without expressing an apology.
This may even be the biggest blow to hit the royal family since Edward VIII's abdication in 1936, and certainly since their behaviour at Diana's death in 1997.

Ohio's new proposed abortion ban.

In Ohio, anti-abortion-rights groups and 20 Republican lawmakers recently proposed an abortion ban that would, in most cases, consider doctors who perform abortions guilty of aggravated murder.

The new proposal would also require doctors to attempt to reimplant ectopic pregnancies in the uterus.

Ectopic pregnancies occur when a fertilized egg attaches itself outside the uterus, where it can't grow.
The Ohio proposal ignores the fact that reimplanting an ectopic pregnancy in the uterus is "physiologically impossible," said Dr. Chris Zahn, the vice president of practice activities at the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Attempting to reimplant an ectopic pregnancy can be extremely dangerous, but treating it correctly can save a pregnant person's life.

It has been the goal, ever since Roe v. Wade was passed, of anti-abortion groups to get it overturned. It's heated up in the past couple of years with the addition of more conservative judges to the Supreme Court, as the people who put these bans into effect know they will get shot down either at the state or federal district level, which then gives them the opportunity to begin the appeal to the Supreme Court.

In order to get that appeal to the SPC, they will write any kind of stupidity necessary into the bills in order to have them passed and then blocked from going into effect. They're trying this mess in PA right now, but our governor has vetoed every single one that comes across his desk.

They don't care about abortion, they don't care about the children that will/will not be born, they don't care about the mothers. The only thing they care about is controlling women.

Because they are scared little boys.

I have had a friend who had an ectopic pregnancy. This is outright crazy. Right there with issues like prosecuting spontaneous miscarriages as possible murder/manslaughter. My mom had one between me an my little brother, my sister-in-law has had TWO.
