King_Furby

I found this thing on the internet the other day and have no idea what to call it.

Can someone please tell me what you would classify it as.

Any help is welcome.

-Much thanks

Ariabella

Well....I'd say it's a gnome of some sort.

GothicFires

a satyr usually has the lower half of a goat and the upper half of a man. They are supposed to be very sexually potent creatures.  I think it is either a dark fae or an imp (minor devil) I have see quite a few fairy tale book illustrations in that same flavor though for the life of me I cannot think of what the books are.

Noooooooo only Pan was cute and fluffy, the others were evil little rapists.

Actually, the name of the painting and even the artist has vannished from my head, but has anyone a recollection of the painting of a woman sprawled on her bed, with a daemon sat on her chest?
Not the same image, but very reminisant of it....

Celestial Goblin

My first thought was, for some reason, 'gremlin'.

Elvi--is this the painting you are thinking of?

If so, it's called The Nightmare and was painted by Henry Fuesli.

I'd say gremlin or imp or other small mischievious to malevolent troublemaking spirit creature.

I prefer Satyrs from Changeling: The Dreaming. ^^

Hannibal

Rumplestiltskin! That was the first thought that popped into my head.

More seriously, it has a very northern or north-eastern European feel about the artwork. Nordic or slavic perhaps. I'd start looking at the names of creatures from either mythic cycle as a starting point.

Swedish Steel

It doesn't look very nordic to me, but I have to agree with it looking slavic.

My vote is absolutely Gremlin as well.

Hehehe. Sometimes I feel like a Satyr, but nobody wants to go off into the woods with me.. *Sniffle*

Odd looking little demon...

But what is the horse thinking, with that expression?!  That's what I really want to know.

I thought it looked like Jim Carrey from that movie, A Series of Unfortunate Events

I haven't seen the movie...

Thus I get to confirm: you mean the horse right, not the demon?  Ha.
