Messages and Profiles

I've noticed a change in the interfaces for these two items.

Messages used to have a frame to the left to select inbox and sent messages. Now it's a dropdown from the messages button.

Profiles used to likewise have a left frame and the profile pic was on  the right above the biographical data.Now the profile is laid out like a board post.

Did the iterface get an update or did I adjust some setting?

I think there should be an icon to the right that looks like rewind icon , clicking it should return the interface to the original format.
