Username change by an admin?

Since when did we have to have an admin change our username here?

Better yet, why did that change?

I have to admit that I'm not very happy about it, though I'm certain there are good reason why it has been changed.

So if someone could kindly clarify this I would really appreciate it.   ><

I guess all the holiday namechanges irked the admins. When I came back from my hiatus I was still December Doomsday :P Just PM an admin and they'll do it pretty quickly.

It could be rather difficult figuring out who was who with all the name changes. It wasn't just the admins of the site who had issues with it, it was many of the members as well.

I'm sorry you're not happy that you can't change your name without PMing staff, but the best solution to the problem was to turn off name changing.
