   Darkness.. Silence... that was his world.. though he smelled the food, felt the bed move... the hand taking his and placing it on the tray... he had grown used to the 'assitance' he had no choice. After all he was deaf and blind now... and unless there was some miracle he would be for the rest of his life...

Backstory

    Alex grew up like any normal only child, he was loved by his parents, did well in school, played sports and though he could have been a prick was one of the good guys. He grew up .. fooled around.. had his first awkward sexual encounter at seventeen and then gone to collegue. He had known love and been heart broken but he had never found 'the one'.

    Graduating collegue he took a job in bio-tech he was smart and good at his job, he worked hard and was quickly rising in his field. Everything was going his way then one day he is jogging through the park, he sees a woman with a stroller two punks run up and start hassleing her grabbing her and and trying to drag her in broad daylight into some bushes.. her baby screaming some people looking but no one doing anything..

    He was one of the good guys so he did was his father would of what his mother would be proud he did.. and after he pulled one of the punks off the woman his last .. sound was a scream and a boom.. his last sight was a bun muzzle and a flash as he was shot point blank in the side of the head. When he woke days later he was alive... but damage had been done to optic nerves and his hearing.. the hearing might return to one ear.. but not so far.. he had to have this communicated to him.. slowly using a child toy.. feeling the letters ...

   His father and mother were there ... offering to take him home with them.. he said NO.. he refused .. and thus in a week he would be placed in a special private hospital.. to start to learn how he was going to live this new life and if he wanted to..
