Internet Help for Domain Registration and Redirection

I've been working on a website for a religious website and want to get a decent url address and redirection to the hosting site. They charge alot more than I care to spends but like the hosting site for its simplicity.

Anyone know any providers that will register a domain name at a decent cost per year ,not picky as long as its a .com or something standard, with free redirection at a good price.

I was looking at godaddy but not sure if its good anyone here have experience with them or have another option?

I use http://www.namecheap.com/ currently - they're less expensive than Godaddy, private registration is free for the first year and much less expensive than GD after. They also handle private registration in a way that doesn't obstruct the transfer process - or at least doesn't have to.

More importantly, though, they have their own dns service, which lets you do things like redirect or even point straight to the site you are redirecting to with no need of a host in between at all.
