Hehe I like that we have 2 party members who will sleep with the audience for the right price.

I'm goin to go with Monk 4/Bard 1.  Granted, this makes me an ex monk so I can no longer take anymore monk levels.

Hmmmm, perhaps your interested in PrC in Complete Scoundrel called 'Shrouded Dancer' which suits well for ex-monk bards. it is basically performer who distracts foes with dance but then makes sneaky attacks to them (get sudden strike +2d6 from whole career). Dance can also frighten the viewers or confuse them also as I recall.

Transgirlenstein

Ooh I am...what are the prereqs?  And can you send me what they get?

Just wondering if there is room for any new PC's. This game sounds like it will be alot of fun.

Yep. :P

I my defense I've seen dancers from Hungary and the Romanian Area among the Rom peoples and they are very sensual and erotic in a primal way, kind of like the Brazilians they just let go. And in her case she can dance nicely for families or get ,er, very erotic wearing just a sheen of sweat and a smile for purely adult audiences. So yes her dancing will always be sexual just not intended that way and if a few men like her and want to get her in a bed she will expect to get paid suitably, unless a woman she is likely to do them for free.

Right now I'm looking at:
Perform (dance)
Perform (percussion instruments- dancers) ~have to use those~
Profession (courtesan)
Profession (witch) ~to cover all the typical fortune telling, getting paid by yokels to make juju bags and charms and yelling curses at yokels and ceremonial duties among her people~

I've seen it too and fully know what you mean.  Besides, we got to earn our coin somehow right?

Oh I remember seeing a posting a player wanting a Monk and a Bard there is an option trade off bard special abilities for some Monk ones, if the DM is ok with that.

Could be one of those flashy show master of fighting arts that dazzles the commoners with his or her incredible skills and maybe toss in some humor like Jackie Chan. You know cut the apples off of some assistant while blindfolded doing backflips. I'm not going to volunteer.

I've heistant to allow a monk/bard. I mean, thematically, monks are dedicated and strict.. Bards, less so.. That bonus to AC and such comes from disiplined training of one's mind and soul, no?

RubySlippers

Not monk, a martial artist sort of bard- think Jackie Chan.

Heightended defenses can be unorthodox tactics or just training. An example in bad kung fu movies would be the worldly martial artist that never quite studied properly and liked to sneak off to gamble or drink. He or she would just be not a monk in getting all the cool abilities he might get some unarmed combat skills, use monk weapons and get a better AC but not get all the neat tricks. Or you could go the swordsmaster like a Samauri they also practice martial arts but are not monks he could be a flashy kung fu like weapons master performer.

Ok, working on my character, she's a flautist.  That's flute player :P

And she's five levels of bardly goodness too :)

RubySlippers

~Can I stick your flute in your box?~

Ok I had to I loved the American Pie series.  ;D

silly, silly Ruby :P

Seriously my character is coming along she is a Wild Bard with the more rustic druidic bard variant she may not have lots of the bard abilities but will have an animal companion, several bard abilities and druidic spells mixed into her bard lists. I'm not sure about the Aesimar aspect though of the character it may not fit well.

shadowheart

Cool, still the erotic dancer and seductress of the party, Ruby?

:)

RubySlippers

Yes just a primal creature like the wolf, ravenous when the mood and passions strike her.

Inerrant Lust

Does anyone want to start the votes?

I think I'm looking for 3, maybe 4 people. Hopefully the long delay from starting this thread hasn't caused anyone to loose interest. :P

Zaer Darkwail

I haven't but I cannot start make the char until I am sure do you approve or do not approve crusader once you have the book of 'Nine Swords'.

Ehhhhhh, I haven't gotten ahold of the book yet (it might be awhile.  >:() but I'm not inclined to allow it, from what I've heard about the Tome of Battle being somewhat radically different both in power level and complexity compared to other classes. Yeah, it is taking me awhile to find someone willing to lend the book to me, and I might not have it consistently. :-\

CaptainErotica

I'm still working on my character. I found a Prestige Class called the Serenader in a d20 suppliment caleld Bards and Ballads. i'll PM you the info on it. If you allow it I could be the lead singer of our little group. If not i'll probably just go straight Bard...not sure yet.

Zaer Darkwail

Aha, ok. So I make a 'dashing swordman' bard then (bard/swashbuckler) then. Start work on the charsheet and more details on my tiefling.

Transgirlenstein

Essentially thats why he is an ex monk.  You can take levels of monk but as soon as you switch your alignment to something other then lawful, you can't take any more levels of monk though you don't loose the abilities you all ready gained.

Essentially think of a dancer or something who took martial arts to increase their agility.

But if your first levels are monk should it be better she was a full time female monk who merely practiced dancing increase smoothness and agility of her martial art moves but somehow then lost interest on monkish life style (or did some huge scandal which caused her to be kicked from order) and picked life of bard and entertainer to get some living and a new way of life.

Also note even if your char is neutral or chaotic she can retain some her monk life style behavior like refusing drink alcohol to dull your senses, avoid drugs or do hard physical exercises (like running and general acrobatics) early in morning etc.
