Calling all Heroes of Azeroth!

I know that we have a decent sized group of WoW players on the site, so I figured I'd see if anyone would be interested in taking the WoW RPG for a little spin. (Yes, they made an RPG for it) So anyone that is familiar with the game mechanics of DnD, shouldn't have too much trouble with this as the two games are really similar.

So on to the details of the game itself. The RPG is set right at the end of the Third War, which I believe was the starting point of WoW classic.

Now I'm not looking to restrict the game to one faction or the other, so that's pretty open. In fact the idea I had for the game would provide the reason for mixed faction groups, so that is fine.

I will provide links to the books later for those that need them. But for now just let me know if you're interested in playing and what race/class.

High Elf (precursor to Blood Elves)
Night Elf
Human
Ironforge Dwarf
Gnome (warning there might be punting jokes)
Tauren
Orc
Jungle Troll (Darkspears)
Goblin
Half-Orc
Half-Elf

Half-Ogre
Pandaren

All classes will be available, though not necessarily to every race. I look forward to seeing who all's interested, and hopefully to get the game going in the near future.

All PCs will start at 2nd level with 900gp in equipment. And I'm looking for level break down of either 'class' 2 or 'class' 1/'race' 1 or, if you really want 'class' 1/'class' 1 though I think we should have enough people that multiclassing shouldn't be needed at this point.

Troll druid or Pandaren Wardancer, the Pandaren version of a warrior. And a troll druid would be possible just very very rare.

Since I have, it looks like, 4 maybe 5 people interested in playing, those that are interested in playing. PM me a 2nd level character and a background telling what they were doing during the Third War. You also get 900gp worth of equipment.

4d6 drop the lowest die. I can even tell you what stat adjustments you need for your race, if you don't already know.

I looked over the books, same as 3.5 but with some tweaks.

Troll druid or Pandaren wardancer. depends on what everyone else decides to play. Wanna help devil keep the factions balanced and such. As I have both set up already it won't be too hard to post either one.

Ok, since I seem to have lost two of the people I had lined up, I'm looking for something of a rogue type and/or an arcanist. If anyone is interested in filling those spots let me know, otherwise I'll fill in with a couple NPCs and get the game going. I'm looking to post the actual game thread thursday to give people a chance to post character sheets.

I've never played WoW RPG from a table top point of view, but I've played from a MMORPG point of view.  I can play a rogue if you still need one?  It'll probably take me some time to get used to the game mechanics, but I play DND a lot so hopefully not that long.

Other than some very minor things, the WoW rpg is exactly like dnd. PM Devilstrike or me a character sheet. You'll have to play one of the Alliance races to maintain faction balance.

Yeah, still lookin' for a roguey type, in terms of traps and dungeoneering. And it would be nice if you play an alliance race, to maintain a balance in he party, so to speak, but you don't have to if you don't want to.

hehehe...actually it's almost 11pm here.  I likely will not get to the character until tomorrow afternoon.  so I hope that doesn't throw off the game any.  I'll post as soon as I can.  I still need to understand the character build system.  So tomorrow afternoon at the earliest.

The build system is just like DnD, at least in 3.5, or similar enough that it's not too hard to transition. At least for me. The only real difference I can think of is the fact that there are racial levels, although those seem like the racial paragon levels, and the fact that the classes are slightly different.

Ok, to those of you who have submitted a character sheet, but not yet posted. You have until tomorrow night to post. Then I am advancing the plot of the game. If I don't hear anything from you by the end of the weekend, I am going to assume you are no longer interested in playing and will look to fill your spots with other people.

If you've already posted and are just waiting for the boneheads the post, you're fine. And I apologize for the game moving so slowly.
