Street Life - Roxy Music

Wish everybody would leave me alone -yeah
They´re always calling on my telephone
When I pick it up there´s no one there
So I walk outside just to take the air
Come on with me cruising down the street
Who knows what you´ll see, who you might meet
This brave new world´s not like yesterday -
It can take you higher than the milky way
Now i´m blinded I cant really see - yeah
No more bright lights confusing me - no
Don´t ask me why i´m feeling blue
cause loving you is all I can do
Hey good-looking boys - gather around
The sidewalk papers gutter-press you down
All those lies can be so unkind,
They can make you feel like you´re losing your mind
Street life
Street life
Street life
What a life
Back to nature boys - vasser girls too
Watch what you say, or think, or do
Continental-style strasse girls might
But you know exactly if it´s wrong or right
Education is an important key - yes
But the good life´s never won by degrees - no
Pointless passing through harvard or yale
Only window shopping - its strictly no sale
Week end starts friday soon after eight
Your jet black magic helps you celebrate
You may be stranded if you stick around
- and that´s really something...

She is stalked, but not only is he watching her, he is out to ruin her, take everything from her and then when she has nothing, finally take her.

How is he going to do that?
How will he ruin her business, destroy her home, alienate her friends?

Does she know him, is he her best friend or most trusted employee......or just simply a stranger that she has never met?

The last three lines of this song always had me thinking.....
Possibly a daemon or some magic user time travelling who gets stuck because he has stayed in one place too long?
Perhaps he needs her as part of the final key to find his way home?

This one will be a toughy, it'll need a good flexible writer, who can come up with ideas of his own and run with what he gets back.
After all......how you write it will depend upon how I react and whether she escapes after sticking a knife in your back, or becomes the willing participant for whatever evil plans you have...........

Mad world - Tears for fears/REM

All around me are familiar faces,
Worn out places,
Worn out faces,
Bright and early for the daily races,
Going nowhere,
Going nowhere,
Their tears are filling up their glasses,
No expression,
No expression,
Hide my head I wanna drown my sorrow,
No tomorrow,
No tomorrow,
And I find it kind of funny,
I find it kind of sad,
The dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had,
I find it hard to tell you,
I find it hard to take,
When people run in circles,
It's a very very,
Mad world,
Mad world,
Children waiting for the day they feel good,
Happy birthday,
Happy birthday,
And I feel the way that every child should,
Sit and listen,
Sit and listen,
Went to school and I was very nervous,
No one knew me,
No one knew me,
Hello teacher tell me what's my lesson,
Look right through me,
Look right through me,
And I find it kind of funny,
I find it kind of sad,
The dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had,
I find it hard to tell you,
I find it hard to take,
When people run in circles,
It's a very very,
Mad world,
Mad world,
Enlarging your world,
Mad world...

A little less dark this one.

Jess is coming up to her 30th birthday, she has been working in an office since she left school at 16 and is thoroughly sick and tired of the whole rat race thing.
Her job is boring and monotonous, but with the few exam results she left school with, there wasn't much option.

She'd always dreamed of going to college and getting a degree, but the oppertunity had never raised it's head, being a working class lass, who had obligations to her single mum and brother and sister.
But now, her mum has been left a huge legacy, an uncle they hardly knew, enough money for her mum to live comfortably and a healthy sum for each of her children.

Her mum gave Jess her share and a little extra, on the condition that she did what she had always wanted, get a better education.
So........three weeks after everyone else had started the course, (her employers insisted she worked out her notice, which overlapped), Jess finds herself in a world she has never set foot in before.

How is a thirty year old going to cope?
Is she going to stick her heads in books and get on with it, or is she going to be lured away by the social life and make up for what she has missed over the last fourteen years?

Mad World reminds me of the Gears of War commercial...sweet, sweet Gears of War.

<--- drools

Elvi

*rolls eyes*
And there I was thinking you were wanting to play a game with me...not be reminded of something else.....*sniffles*

Praxis

A game??

Like keeping my head low as I run for cover, my body armour sending splinters of stone flying as I slam hard up against a ruined wall while you fire round after round at me.

Propping my rifle on the wall and firing blindly, forcing you to take cover, and I advance and flank you as you hide to reload.

I round the corner and slam the butt of my rifle into your face, knocking you down only to empty my clip into your alien-freak-ass.

<--- sighs happliy...wiggling his bum like a puppy

A game like that you mean?

Isn't Gears of War sexy?

Elvi

*laughs*
Dunno..never heard of it.....

Gears of War is sexy, so sexy when Marcus drags his chainsaw through a Theron Guard and splatters blood everywhere. Huzzah! >.>
On's/Off's --- Game Reviews

"Only the insane have strength enough to prosper. Only those who prosper may judge what is sane."

Xerial

All this talk of Gears of War has me thinking I should have bought it instead of Smackdown vs. RAW 2007 when I bought my 360 in Diego (go me for buying one of the most fragile gaming systems ever in a foreign port without being 100% sure that the Canadian version of Best Buy'll honor the warantee)... but hell I've got Dead Rising... mmm Zombie killing action... wait, would posing the possibility of an adult game based in a Dead Rising scenario be weird?

Ok, threadjacking aside, I have had Mad World in my head for ages, and the idea is intriguing, but I'm still wondering who I could play? I was thinking perhaps an impressionable young college student and classmate of our heroines, but I gather that might not be in line with what you're going for.

Elvi

Eeeeeeeewwwwwwww............
I can see it now......
"OOOOOOO yes.....fuck me! fuck me!.....Oh.....it's dropped off....."

As for Mad world, I am infact listening to it now.....
Perhaps it would work with a young impressionable fellow student, they could discover college life together perhaps?

Xerial

I was more thinking that in the maddess and desperation of the moment either love sparks or desperate and insane desire to either get a last one in before dying or to preserve the human race would do... Zombie Soccer good, Zombie sex bad...

Discovering college life together could be quite fun indeed...  ;D

Elvi

*sniggers*
Yes I did guess that was what you meant.......

And given our other game it may be quite good as a change of pace for us?

Aye, variety is always a good thing...  ;)

I've brought this back up, because there have been no takers as yet and fear the purpose of the thread may have got a bit lost.....

So..........Anyone fancy a go?
I'm open to different story lines that carry on from the basic outline as above......

Hm...college life... :D  I know a bit about that. I think the idea could be interesting. I suppose a fellow college-student (perhaps one who has the hots for older women?) might make for an interesting story-line.

Nope. My life has pretty much straightened itself out now. Back then, well, things werent going great for me. Lots of Real Life stuff was going on. But my life has been pretty stable recently. And i really dont see that changing, though there will be a week in March when i go to Italy that i wont be able to post.
