Sherona

Her hair was of the blondest platinum, her eyes the coldest blue. Yet there was a kindness to her face as she settles down into the forest. This was her home, this was her life. Her body was almost nothing but wispiness, now that most of the human folk has forgotten her. Often called by many names, once even by the name Aphrodite, this Lady of The Forest was almost no more.

That was about to change. One special young man, one who would save her kind even at the cost of herself. To him she sends the mental call, images of grave danger, images of rich rewards. Always leadign him closer and closer to herself.

The redhead found himself urged on my images in his head, day and night.  Whenever his green eyes were covered by shades given by his eyelids, he heard that strange call.  Danger, reward... something he'd often dealt with at school.  Arik shivered as he glanced around slowly, blinking as he woke when the bus pulled up to its stop.  It was an odd thing, he thought, to be taking the bus to the forest outside of town, but as he exited the bus with his backpack slung over his shoulder, he smiled.  This place was much like a second home, he had been coming here since he was a child and his parents would take him, his two sisters, and his little brother camping.  But, this was a different section of the forest than he was used to.  He took a moment to take in his bearings, looking back to the road- west.  The bus continued on along it, and he nodded as he looked north.  That way, was a lake.  To the south, the rest of the forest spread, and to the east was a small dome mountain that was not exceptionally tall and was just an offshoot of the range nearby.

Arik took a moment to take a deep breath, and then along the barely traveled trail he walked, picking his route carefully from the bus stop down the small slope that led to the south east.  For some reason, with each step that the young man took, it felt more and more right.

Her face was ethereal as she sits crossed legged underneath the largest willow tree in the forest, its branches hanging low and almost obscuring her from view. Her gown was a frothy green, matching exactly the shade of the hanging leaves and vines, her eyes and face was as ageless as the forest itself.

Arik his name is called, though her lips do not move, Arik you must hurry again, a sense of urgency is sent out on the winds, and she can only hope that he recieves the message.

The voice that he heard this time was distinctly feminine, something that he'd never quite heard or felt before.  Not heard with his ears, but in his mind all the same.  It was almost like someone was whispering directly into his ear... but there was no one there.  But instead of stopping to listen, his steps hurried as he moved off the path.  He knew the direction now, his legs taking him back uphill along the foot of the mountain.  Into the forest he rushed, taking care not to trip or fall if he could.  The bad thing was that his cell phone was nearly useless out here, barely getting any signal as he checked it once and then stuffed it back into his pocket again.  Who or what are you?  I know I'm not hearing my own voice. he couldn't help but to ask.  He wouldn't even call himself by name in his own dreams or thoughts.  He was half a mile away from the willow that she sat beneath, but between them was a rocky incline and many trees.

There was no path from here, save for the one that he was creating with each step taken.  Arik shivered, stepping in a bit of mud that nearly caused him to slip.  His jeans were relaxed, flowing with his legs as he reached up to unzip his jacket slightly, body heat that once was trapped now escaping as he breathed a little quicker.  He was in good shape, but he rarely had to do any climbing or rush along trails and uneven terrain such as this.  Still, the mute would arrive at the location he was being summoned towards soon enough...
