Kallium could have done it. He seems to be the main combat focused character so far, so it would make sense to have the crew's fighter break her open in case it turned out to be something dangerous. That or Valdorion since he's the big beefy tech guy.

As Rati is functionally immortal and a physician, she'd be the likeliest candidate to open the stasis pod. I assume that those things are intended for long stay medical purposes more so than anything else.

Background: Velfi's goddess, Anwyn, valued beauty and perfection above all else. She created him, along with his brothers and sisters, to appear as dolls, with ball joints and skin that closely resembled porcelain, though it was far more malleable. Each of them was created to be nearly identical, both in appearance and personality, and act as the perfect servants, that thought and cared about nothing but pleasing their Mistress. Velfi's memories of his time serving under Anwyn were hazy, like a dream, and he could remember very little save for the goddess he served and the strange domain he lived in. Her domain was a strange place, with everything being symmetrical and carefully designed, meant to be just as perfect as the goddess who ruled over it, though everything seemed to be artificial and somewhat unsettling as a result. For the most part, Velfi couldn't remember feeling love and admiration for Anwyn, eager to obey her commands, though whether these feelings were real or as artificial as everything else, he couldn't be sure. He also remembered how Anwyn would present her 'dolls' to any guests she had, treating them more like prized trophies or beloved objects than actual living creatures.

When the war came, everything about their perfect life had changed. Fearful of lesser beings, Anwyn became more reclusive, her servants often being unable to see their beloved Mistress for months on end. Without any orders being given to them, their domain soon fell into disrepair, the once meticulously cared for land falling into disrepair and ruin, especially once the war had begun to reach them. Terrified and slowly slipping into insanity, Anwyn had begun to create new remnants, though these were a far cry from Velfi and his siblings. The new remnants resembled the old ones, in a way, keeping the doll like features the others had, however, they were twisted, mindless abominations, a mess of mismatched body parts and blades, unable to feel anything but agony and blood lust. Upon seeing her new creations for the first time, Velfi felt emotions that he had never felt before. He felt fear, hatred and sorrow all at once as he watched the awful beasts begin to tear apart both the invaders and his fellow remnants, desperately clawing at anything that drew near. Despite their monstrous appearance, he still felt a kinship towards the creatures and could feel they were suffering, driven mad by their imperfect creation. He felt nothing but contempt for the goddess he once worshiped, now wanting revenge for what she had done by creating these poor abominations. Fortunately, he didn't have to wait long for his justice, the invaders managing to push through to Anwyn's chambers and slay the goddess. Once she was dead, it was as if a spell had been lifted from the remaining remnants, any loyalty they had towards her completely removed and Velfi felt... nothing. He simply stood there, completely motionless and unfeeling, even as the lesser races grabbed him and took him to their ship.

For the longest time, he had remained that way. He couldn't bring himself to do or say anything, having lived his entire life with emotions and thoughts that weren't even his own. It was a jarring experience, to say the least. While some of his other brothers and sisters had a less severe reaction to the sudden and complete free will, many more had shut down like he had. The aliens were determined to get through to them, however, and would continue to talk to the remnants to try and garner some sort of reaction. One day, something in Velfi's brain just clicked and he found himself responding to a human woman who had been asking him questions about his life. He found himself talking with her for hours about how he felt during his time as a servant and during the battle, about his goddess and her domain, and he talked about those horrible creatures she had created, who's suffering he desperately wanted to end. It took a while before he was properly able to think again, but he found himself bonding with the crew that had saved him and felt a desire to help them in their efforts to defeat the other deities. While he wasn't particularly skilled in combat, Velfi found that he had a knack for engineering and mechanics and discovered that he could replace his limbs for more useful tools rather easily. While he saw little in the ways of combat during the war, he was still quite a valuable asset, keeping ships repaired and designing custom weapons and gear for his crew. To better help him meet the demands of the relatively large ship, Velfi had an AI installed into him, allowing him to process information and deal with situations faster.


Personality:  Velfi is a very curious remnant, eager to tinker with and explore any new technology he finds. His curiosity also extends to living organisms as well, his lack of experience with the other races often showing as he prods people with hundreds of questions, eager to learn about them and their culture. While generally a more bubbly and friendly type, he has trouble reading emotions and can annoy or even anger others without realizing. He also has trouble properly expressing his own emotions at times and can revert back to a state similar to when he had first gained his freedom if put under too much stress. He has a particular fascination with nature, given the perfectly crafted world he had lived on before, finding it's chaotic beauty absolutely stunning. He's quick to get along with new people, trying to make friends with anyone and everyone.

Equipment: His suit is of his own design, a mix of steelsilk and a fitted with a few tech upgrades. It has holotech installed allowing him to project basic hard light holograms. It comes equipped with basic hologram technology as well, allowing him to monitor his vitals or run diagnostics with ease. Finally, the suit is lined with toggleable LED lights, allowing for omni-directional lighting when in a pinch. For defense, he has a custom-made, high voltage stun gun and while basic, it allows him to deal with most threats he's had to deal with. For repairs and such, he has a cybernetic multi-tool, which he can use in place of a hand.

I think I would agree with Rati. Chances are she would be the one able to open the pod safely.

The stasis pod would be qute unbreakable I think. But who knows, it could be broken into.

I see my character as a later addition to the party, the doctor kindly opening my stasis pod. However you now have your pilot and navigator.

Yes I agree with ThatFantasticBard, a real diversity. Enough to do a little bit of everything I think.

I think it would be a good idea SidheLady. That way there would be some direction and if needed in game introductions to your world and a source of "jobs"

Totally agree that in this case an NPC would be the best source to be the captain and keep our noses in the same direction.

Background:

Created for war, Sagitarius was one of the legions of super soldiers raised by the God of War, Arios, to enforce the Gods will across the universe. Once donning an armour of dark technologies, he was the brutal executioner of those who opposed the righteous oppression of the Gods, slaying many exotic beings on many different planetoids and vessels.

Internal competition to gain favour in the eyes of Arios was a dangerous game for the soldiers. Each soldier registered their killcounts after each battle, to them the taking of a life was but a game with the ultimate reward being a vaunted position as a personal guard of the God of War. Sagitarius was much like his bloodthirsty brothers and he strove to proof his worth as a warrior to his God through the killcount.

Eventually, the advent of the Uprising was the thing Sagitarius needed to prove his worth to Arios and he earned his place as part of the tens of thousands of warrior demi-gods in bright, holy armour under the direct command of Arios. However, as the war progressed it became clear that the driven wrath of the beings of the Uprising overwhelmed the Gods once undisputed hegemony of the worlds. As his brothers in arms fell around him during the final battle against the the cruel god that was Arios, Sagitarius's battleship was defeated in atmospheric combat and crashed on the other side of the planet.

Emerging as the final survivor, bruised and battered, Sagitarius soon realised the Gods had lost the war. In the far distance, the plumes of smoke from the destruction of Arios's palace by the alliance of the rebels could be seen. Losing his purpose in life the fallen warrior went into exile, retrieving his old battle-worn armour and entering the stars without the guidance of his Gods.
