This discussion has been split off from another as we had gone way off the track of the origional topic



My live role play character is six years old, it's strange, I put on certain pieces of her costume and then I am her, will be very very strange when she dies.

Mind you, her IC husband is in his 15th year now (He started when the system started) there are only two others left now and I have no idea what the whole game world is going to do when he goes.....
(Let alone my character)

Mmhmm, I'd love to make a movie of Sinnara/Chi - She started out as a runaway slave and has spent four years in training as Chi's main focus of attention. >:3 And the fun is just beginning!

how a live roleplay is done? on the game section? or there is a chat / roleplay section?
you use a yahoo or MSN Messenger Violet? or you roleplay live here ?

Live roleplay would be better left up to Elvi to explain. :) I've never done it - And no, it has nothing to do with this forum. It's real life fun!

I have yahoo, yes, but it's not working for the moment.

Live role play,(LRP) or live action roleplay (LARP)
Is done in person, with living and breathing people to interact with and beat to bits with specially made weapons.
They are based on systems ranging from high fantasy to sci-fi.
The one I roleplay in is a high fantasy game, with a miriad of wierd and wonderful races, magic, incantation, specialist healers, warriors, pirates, orcs, goblins, deamons....the list goes on.

We dress in costume and live that character for the duration of the event, the longest being 6 days.
Total immersion and total suspension of belief.

It is totally different to playing on a messenger, or table top, or play by post.
It's been fun, but Elvi has now left the building

Well fortunately, (Or not, depending on how you look at it), the type of adult roleplay as is played on this site cannot really be done in LRP.
So internet is the place to do it. *grins*

Hey untracomplexx it looks like you need some virtual reality stuff. Too bad it's not invented yet.

Up to 6 days?  Do you stay in character 24/7 the whole time?

Official time in is 10am to 2am the next morning, but many of us continue to role play, it just means that we won't get attacked during the hours of 2am to 10am.
However, guards are posted and duties are taken and 'life' carries on as it would do in the game world.
Lots of talky plot, politics, drinking to our dead heroes, that sort of thing.....

It is over here and in this system.
Some of the smaller weekend events are 24/7, very tiring and very satisfying.
(I always sleep with my boots on and at least mostly clothed)

I was into live rp back in the 80s (when we had to invent it ourselves) and the early 90s.  But, Elvi, believe me, there's no reason that you can't have adult larps.  But you'd better know the other people involved very well, and if you make a mistake it can be a doozy.

Well, we have 'adult' on the surface, or the ladies of the brothel and the sucubi wouldn't have much fun, but this is a family system and there is no way I would be 'active' with my IC husband.
(Even though I have had two children by him and am pregnant again in the game world that is)

And of course, there are real life couples who role play IC couples and the single players, but what I am saying is that there is no overt sexual behaviour.

Only times I tried it we were 40 guys, and 1 girl I belive. It was a testosterone fogged hackfest. Great excersise though, and really fun.

Or in tents?

It is still a predominately male 'sport', but more and more women are getting hooked on it.
(Like me who found it rather late in life, I am one og the oldest people in the system and I have to admit it's good being around a lot of young'ns who are young enough to be my children.....)

The powerful like my IC husband yes.....they wouldn't dare not to!
('cos they tend to end up laying dead in a ditch if they don't)

But IC I get no more and no less respect than any other, plus my character is a lot younger than I am in reality.
Infact my enemy quota actually increased the better known I became and when I married the high incantor, I was then seen as a viable target to use against him. 

OOC there are a lot of the younger ones who enjoy my company and also use me as a sounding board for their ideas/problems etc.

Last IC pregnancy was Mustard.
Every time anyone called Muster, to call us together, I went into a frenzy wanting mustard, my IC husband carried a jar of it around with him at all times and at one event, I had the Lord High General running around trying to find mustard for me at three o'clock in the morning.

(Was even funnier when I ate it, the hot English Mustard, spread on cream cake......hell, the things that you have to do for role play!)

LARPing seems really interesting, though I doubt if I could find a game close by me. Being in Los Angeles has its downsides I tell you. I would definately have to live roleplay on a smaller scale as I am uncomfortible in a plethora of people. I stillthink it's something I should get into now that I know all I have to do is act, and I could use the practice.

(I know people who eat mustard on green apples I have yet to try it, but it might be tasty)

Mistiq, I heard recently about a new LARP group being formed in Oceanside.  It's not suburban LA, but it's not a long drive at all.  If you like, I'll dig up the information for you.
