Synopsis:
Portals to some unknown world have opened up in several major cities around the globe, and monsters, demons and other horrible beasts began to spill out, wreaking havoc for two full days until the nations rallied their military and push the creatures all the way back into their portals and even manage to capture the area around the portals on the other side. The UN, confronted with this new world with its Resources, and knowledge, decided to explore this new world. While on the surface it was declared as a expedition to find, and bring to justice those that were responsible for the attacks on Earth, There are elements within the UN looking to find a way to benefit from this new discovery.

The Story will follow Recon team 13. A group of soldiers pulled from various military forces from around the World to explore, and establish diplomatic relations with the denizens of this world.

Linguist/Translator: Someone to help translate, and learn the native Languages of this land
Scientist: Just a random scientist to make observation, ect.
Locals (Denizens of this world that travel with the Recon Force for reasons of their one.

NOTE: Players are encouraged to play Multiple characters.

NOTE: Please, no OP (Over powered) characters. No special Forces (Navy Seals, Green Berets, SAS, etc.)

The Denizens of this world are comprised of many different kinds of people. Elves (High, Common, Dark, , Orcs, Monsters (Including Monster-Girls), Furries, dwarfs, etc.

Note: Not all Orcs are evil, and not all Elves are good. Meaning that tradition story roles may/maynot apply to the encounters. This is to be a living breathing, teeming world with life.

hhhmm.....im gonna half to talk it over with Mac (the other GM) that is one of the things we are still trying to decide on. So put a pin on that for now. But have a backup character or 2 just in case.

The biggest worry we have is one character/magic user getting too OP and taking away from the fun of everyone else.

Assuming it's the way I imagine, you'll have an occult investigator type 'scientist' in that case.  I know just who to base her off of too.

Yes, the XO slot is still open. Initially, all the military Members of the team are Earthlings, though how the story goes, that may change with whom joins up from the New world.

I would have to decline on a Full lycan/werewolf as lore tends to shine them on in an OP fashion. There is an alternative called "Wolfkyn" Which falls under the "Beastkyn"(Furry) banner. Basically, it is a Wolfperson that has enhanced Senses (Low Light sight, Smell, and hearing). I'm not sure if that helps or not.

I really had no concrete field of science for this character in mind as dragging along an entire team of scientist would bog down the game too much as the force would really be having go at the pace of scientists. So Having one, perhaps two at most would be the reasonable limit.

Your idea on an "Occult Investigator" is actually a very good idea. I agree with Lusty on that. It wasn't an avenue I considered, and I can see a lot of potential. ;D

One of my biggest concerns with shapeshifters of any type is that it can easily open a door for an OP character. While I understand Mystique was the example you used, as well as only shifting into "humanoid" characters. I'm going to have decline. My sincerest apologies on that.


Though, Low level Mages are acceptable.

Its our world exactly as it is, just with the portals opening up one day and leading to another world with magic.

While the Games has been going on for a couple of months, there has been really little progress, So new players can easily slip into the group.

Story Thus Far:
The 13th Recon Force has been a week out from the main base. While passing through a dense forest, they founds signs of a destroyed village. No bodies were found, but evidence pointed to an Orc attack. Making some mental notes, the group pressed on out of the forest. Out on the otherside they came to their first native settlement. Here, the group stopped to get information, and initiate part of their mission of diplomacy. In this town they encountered many races. Elves of many variety, Beastkyn, and Orcs working, and living peacefully. Though many looked upon the heavily armed force with curiosity. The Group was then contacted by the Lord of the Town, Mayor Namos, and his niece, Niko. After a peace offering (Of Alcohol), Lt. Black, Cpl. Davis (USMC), and Pvt. Mitchell were lead to the Mayor's manor.

It was here that the Mayor offered a map to the capitol of the Kingdom, and the name of the country's ruler, King Oberon. Niko's Uncle volunteered her services as a guide. Mainly to get her out of his hair. Upon leaving the House, Pvt. Mitchell bumped into an Orc Merchant, and after a breif Comedic display by Lt. Black, The orc was sent on his way, embarrassed.

The Group would camp outside the town that night, but it wouldn't be peaceful. The Orc from Earlier told his buddies about his humilation, and they set about to attack the Humans at Dawn. The battle was fierce, but horribly one sided. The surviving Orcs surrendered, but was mowed down by a pair of attack choppers that were escorting the Groups supply shipment under orders of a German General that was coming to inspect the group. The one orc survivor was sent on his way with water, and rations.

After the resupply, the Group is continuing its Journey further into this new world with Corporal Lev Udarnik, a Russian Sniper, and the Half-breed Elf Niko as their guide.

While we do have a translator, nothing says we can't have another one for the more academic side of the translation. Like for books, and such. :-)

I think that they would prefer to keep scientists like that back at base or on Earth instead of in harm's way. Physicists are probably very expensive.

I will have to agree with Lusty here, Physicist would probably be back at the main camp where they can have access to a lab, and equipment.

We always need a few Natives to tag along with the Expeditionary Force. A possible side roll for the Doctor could be to make Notes on the local People from a medical stand point.

For those who don't know an Undine is almost the exact same thing as a water sprite. Her powers will look a little like water bending from Air bender but she will also have other spells she can do. Mostly she uses that water in a special flask she carries to heal.

No no she won't be super powered :) And using her magic takes energy so if she uses it too much she would become exhausted. Her main form of self defence is a decent archery skill, she is not a sharp shooter but she tends to hit where she aims most of the time.

I have no problem with her being rescued ^^

Background:
Originally born as Simone Yung in the poor streets of Hong Kong, he had learned to fend for himself by being tougher than the bullies and the triad gangs themselves. His uncle had taught him a bit of kung-fu. However, Simone's father career took a turn for the better and allowed his family to migrate to the Northwestern regions of the United States, specifically Seattle Washington to make a far better life for themselves. Around the age of 4, Simone went through a transgender phase and it wasn't until around the age of 15 did he choose to go under the surgical knife and become a female, thus reborn as Zia Yung but as a pre-opt shemale.

In her younger years, Zia (formerly Simone), like some of the younger kids, was interested in anime, and all things mecha. It was this fascination that allowed Zia to slowly take up an interest in mechanics. After graduating from high school, Zia went on to earn her engineering degrees. However, given the severe rise and cost of college tuition fee, she had to work part time job. One working at her uncle's garage from her mother's side, and the other engaging in MMA tournaments. Through her martial arts training, Zia learned Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and even Capoeira.

Sadly however, her life took a train wreck for the worse. During the great invasion, Zia was celebrating her mother's birthday along with the rest of her family. Then when a troop of orcs came in and terrorize the shop, all hell broke loose. Although she was able to pull off some hard knocks against these big brutes, the invaders' recklessness caused the mechanic workshop to go under fire. Zia desperately tried to help her family escape, but her uncle suddenly tripped her and rolled her underneath a car that was being repaired. A big explosion ripped open killing everyone, everyone except Zia who was shielded by the car now turned into a burnt-out wreck.

Later, Zia enlisted in the military and with her martial arts and engineering background, she was transferred to the MilEng CoE (Military Engineering Centre of Excellence) in Ingolstadt, Germany if only to militarize her skills. Now she was joining the expeditionary forces venturing into uncharted territories the portal had opened to Earth's humanity. While her military career would help pay off any college debt, Zia's primary motive was to find out "why?"
