Text and Image Formatting help.

So, I'm at my end at this point. I've been trying to get my images so they'll look like the one in the first post: https://elliquiy.com/forums/index.php?topic=11841.0 (To the side, with the text running on the left. I always end up with the text only running on the very bottom edge of the image. It's driving me CRAZY! I've got Photoshop, and I'm familiar with it, so I'd like to make my O&O and Idea thread visually appealing, but I can't do that if I can't figure out how to properly format the post.

Anyone with any experience in this, please lend a helping hand? It'd be very appreciated.

Oh, you need to learn the ways of tables!

Code Select Expand

[table]
[tr][td][/td][/tr]
[/table]


is the basic table code. Table and /table mark the beginning and end of the table. tr and /tr mark the beginning and end of a row. td and /td are the cells within a row. For example:

[tr][td]Row 2, cell 1[/td]  [td]Row 2, cell 2[/td][/tr]
[/table]


will get you the following result:

Row 1, cell 1		Row 1, cell 3
Row 2, cell 1	Row 2, cell 2

You can see how it forces the layout; you can also see how in row one, I left cell two empty - that enforces spacing.

I would actually recommending using the

or

[float=right][/float]

Options, if you don't have that many images. It's easier and lots less hassle, since the BBCode for tables is a little lacking.

Sweet!  Using tables was a PITA

Edit:  OK just tried it, how do you put space padding in from the picture to the text so they aren't right next to each other?  Is there a way or are we back to having to add tables in?

Been wanting to add small character images to my RP's bet have held off because it messed up formatting.

I do it in all of my current ones. :-) I think it adds some color to the beginning posts. ^-^ I've considered trying to do more, but in the end, it's the writing I care about.
