I know there's another game like this going, but it's IM based and so I wish to make an RP based one.  And so, here we are, making a new Yugioh game by my rules, just as Seto Kiaba makes his own rules when he's making one of his many grand championships lol.  I don't plan to implement the Forbidden list, but I will be limiting what is allowed.  For example, any card in the Forbidden list can be used, but only ONE card can be allowed in any one person's deck, meaning if I had Black Luster Soldier, no one else could use it.

Speaking of the Forbidden List, this is the list I was able to pull from the other game of this and so I post it here for others to use.

There's more, but first a few ground rules.  Every post must contain in bold LP, attack/defense of every monster as well as name of said monster(s).  Anything else can be easily looked up if it's a card in the database I am also providing for quick reference.  Anyway, the usual rules apply, field spells power up/lower specific monsters, spell cards, trap, all the rest are normal use and their normal rules apply.

Important UPDATES coming up.

First - in order to promote a more casual and stylized manner of deck building.  We want to make it so that you can only have 1 copy of any card in your deck.  That way, some people won't take decks off the internet to max out their 'power glove' and walk over others that want to play with their favorite cards.  It will also allow for a lot more expression of your characters.

next, since we'll want to make up some naughty cards - we need to make sure they're fair.  thus, any naughty card you invent should be IDENTICAL in mechanics to an existing card.  Meaning, you can create the Shining Lust Fairy - but it needs to have stats identical to an existing monster. Like the blue eyes white dragon.  You can create a bondage tentacle trap, but it needs to have stats identical to an existing trap - like trap hole.  WHAT the cards do should mirror an existing Non-forbidden card, but how they do it can be kinky and naughty and entirely up to you.  also, you can't have both the naughty version and the nice version of a card in your deck. The singleton rule applies here too.  So no Blue-Eyes White Dragon AND Shining Lust Fairy...both with 8 stars and 3000atk/2500def

The GOOD news is, that with the singleton rule comes a lot of free deck space. Now we can drop back down to 40 but have THREE times as much room, instead of just doubling to 80 and having 2x. good?

Now... we'll be keeping track of this through creating virtual decks.  Meaning we type out what cards are in our deck and label them 1-40, or 1-456 (no upper deck size limit)

Then you use a handy dice-rolling program on Elliquiy or somewhere else on the net to roll 1d40 (or 1d456).  The number you roll is the card you draw!  Then, just keep track of which cards you've drawn and re-roll if there are any repeats.  Stairc has worked another trading card game RP through this system and it works.  Your rolls will be based on the honor system for now, and we're confident in everyone's moral integrity.  Just know that if you have a run of AMAZING luck, even with the singleton rule in effect... Well, we might be left to wonder.

Finally, the story will be based in a duel-academy for now, it's an excellent way for our characters to mix and mingle before the real arc begins.  This duel academy is a step higher than the one shown in GX.  That was card game high school, but this will be card game college.  Darker yes, more serious yes, but there is still a lot of room to have fun.  You might want to see about deciding how your characters know each other right now - so you can hit the ground running.  At first, it will be very sandboxy, so duel who you like, for what reasons you like... then, the larger story-lines will emerge.

Ok, important updates time!

Tournament in the works!  Prepare your strongest decks!

The rules are a combination of Battle City rules and the Duelist Kingdom setup.  Anyone and everyone can be challenged.  Collect ten star chips to have a chance at the ultimate prize, a new God Card!  Before that though, your strongest card can be anted up for a chance to win a new series of cards called Avatars!  The Teachers and Assistant Teachers will be given these mysterious cards and they will ante them up for your own rare cards, but there's more to it than that but the rest you'll have to wait and see about.

If you duel without an Avatar Card in your deck or in your possession, you won't lose any cards if you lose the duel.  However, your Star Chips are still up for grabs.  On the flip side, if you win a duel, then you will get an Avatar from your opponent, so only the strong need apply.  Only Avatars will be able to be anted up so you won't have to worry about destroying your deck if you lose.

The grand prize of this Tournament, (which doesn't have a name yet but we'll get that eventually lol,) will be a new Goddess Card!  Relena, the Bringer of the Dawn!

Hey everyone, as Jason has mentioned – the first arc of the story involves a tournament in the style of the yugioh classics. However, we don’t expect you to duel for nothing! The main purpose of the tournament is to decide who is worthy of receiving the grand prize – a rare card unlike any other. This card was commissioned and created, along with the avatar cycle, by the sponsor of the tournament… A mysterious woman who gave them to the academy’s chancellor for the school’s use, but with very specific instructions. These cards were to be earned by the school’s best duelists by anteing them against each other… And the grandest prize of all is for the winner of the tournament alone.

Her name is Relena. And this is her card.

Relena cannot be normal summoned or set. She can be special summoned by returning three creatures you control to the deck.

At the beginning of your standby phase, you may put up to two 500/500 spirit tokens into play. Then, you may gain 200 life-points for each creature you control.


Yes, that is the grand prize of the tournament – Relena, The Bringer of Dawn. She is the benevolent protector of all she holds sacred, and no price is too high to pay for that. She even brings you life itself, as long as you control creatures. And she provides you with up to two a turn in that regard, which can be kept for defense, used to buttress an attack or used for an effect.

Relena is truly a worthy goddess, at home in nearly any deck, and a worthier prize for the winner of the tournament. It doesn’t have to be darkest before the dawn.

Spirit's Personality;  Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning is an honorable but very devastating Knight on the battlefield.  One swing from his mighty sword is enough to destroy all that stands before Jason, his companion and the one he gave his power to long ago.

Dark Magician is the other side of the coin.  While a Dark monster, he is like his Light counterpart since one cannot exist without the other.  Dark Magician is wise and willing to share his experiences to those that will listen, but cross his master and be prepared to reap the whirlwind with his Dark Magic Attack.
Personality;  Jason is energetic but he is balanced by a tactical mind.  Every move builds on the next, and even if things don't go according to plan, he makes due with what he has been dealt and dishes out as much as he receives.  He's a good friend and an even better duelist, able to give advice and guidance to those that need it.
Duel Spirit's History;  Black Luster Soldier is a powerful dragon tamer and warrior that is unmatched save by a few.  (Gilfried the Iron Knight would be a good example when he's released from his self imposed prison.)  He wandered the lands of old, helping man tame evil dragons and bend them to his will.  One Dragon would be his equal in power, and eventually they would become friends and team up later on to destroy one particularly nasty breed of beast that would threaten their world.  How that battle ended, no one truly knows, but the legends say that both Knight and Dragon can still be seen duking it out in the heavens against the dark fiend during horrible storms.

Dark Magician knows no equal when it comes to magical power, but his only rival is the legendary Blue Eyes White Dragon.  Nevertheless, the Dark Magician is not an evil wizard, but instead uses his power to balance out the Light that rules half of the universe.  The story behind this legendary spell caster is that he was the guardian to the Pharaoh, and that out of any other monster in the Pharaoh's army, Dark Magician was the favored one due to his ability to transform and decimate the Ancient Egyptian's enemies in a variety of ways, but this power came with a price.  The kingdom fell into disorder and was wiped out during a grueling and drawn out war, leaving the Pharaoh and Dark Magician powerless.  To make up for his past failures, Dark Magician shares his knowledge of the past to hopefully make the future a better place.
History;  Jason Zantos is a rising star in the Duelist World, though he has no idea of the future that is ahead for him.  Using a combination of Light and Dark monsters, Jason is hoping to carve out a name for himself though he knows the road will be hard and long.  Thanks to inspiring figures like Yugi Moto and Seto Kiaba, (though far more the first than the second,) Jason duels with honor and respect for his creatures.

He came from a small family that favored letting their kids develop their passions, whatever those might be, and so Jason was encouraged to follow his dreams and make his folks proud.  He hopes to do just that as he sets off for the world at large, duel disk in hand and his guardian Duel Spirits at his side.

Yata- Garasu= This card was placed on Jessy's deck by a present of her father. Ever since then she never had taken the card out of the deck. It was a couple of months later when Yata started speaking to her.
Gran Mayu Da Iza: Always been on her deck, it was the first spirit she could talk to. Not a lot is known about this spirit since he is always silent and protective. Something is sure though, the spirit loves Jessy.
History; Born in a small town called Miva, Jessy always been into duel monsters. Her father teaching her when little all of her strategies she end up being a bright child and she thought of a lot of strategies for many different deck. It was not until she formed a Different Dimension deck that she found what she has been looking for. Ever since then she has been beating all her school friends until she went to the town's championship and won easily. Becoming some sort of a famous person in her town her father gave her a present, a card called Yata Garasu. She loved that card and always did her best to play it like it was supposed to. A couple of months later the spirit of Yata started talking to her and ever since then they formed a friendship. Beating all of the duelist on her town she decide to go to and try her luck in a tournament that was soon going to take place. With her deck in her waist she walks to duelist city to try and further her knowledge on the game.

We aren't using either banlist exactly.  The Forbidden Cards can be used by everyone, but I don't want more than one copy of each card in any one's person deck.  Meaning, if you have a Black Luster Soldier, no one else will be allowed to use it.  For the rest, it's up to you my friend.

No, I mean that one forbidden card can be used by only one person in their deck, meaning you can have as many as you want, but no one else can use the same forbidden cards.  Only one copy of a Forbidden Card can be used though, and not 3 as is the usual limit for other cards.

It's your move and a simple Exchange can easily take that down if used in time of course, and there are many other ways to take Cyber Jar and whatever else he has before he can play them, all you need is the right card and to use it in the right way.

Mmhmm! Vergil's right.  Plus, I'm fine with dialing down the scary-card count, I just feel like they really fit her personality. Especially once I change their themes to fit her even better! Also, you can remake your deck any time between duels to squeeze more of those cards in if you want to. From what I can gather, a lot of 'forbidden' cards were only forbidden because they were way too good in CERTAIN decks against CERTAIN combinations of what everyone else was playing. I mean seriously, Butterfly Dagger Elma? Horn of the Unicorn is way more exciting! Just slapping the best cards together doesn't necessarily make for the best deck *giggles*

But if you really don't like the idea, I'll get rid of some... Too bad, since I spent so much time combing for my favorites!

Ok, important updates time!

Tournament in the works!  Prepare your strongest decks!

The rules are a combination of Battle City rules and the Duelist Kingdom setup.  Anyone and everyone can be challenged.  Collect ten star chips to have a chance at the ultimate prize, a new God Card!  Before that though, your strongest card can be anted up for a chance to win a new series of cards called Avatars!  The Teachers and Assistant Teachers will be given these mysterious cards and they will ante them up for your own rare cards, but there's more to it than that but the rest you'll have to wait and see about.

If you duel without an Avatar Card in your deck or in your possession, you won't lose any cards if you lose the duel.  However, your Star Chips are still up for grabs.  On the flip side, if you win a duel, then you will get an Avatar from your opponent, so only the strong need apply.  Only Avatars will be able to be anted up so you won't have to worry about destroying your deck if you lose.

The grand prize of this Tournament, (which doesn't have a name yet but we'll get that eventually lol,) will be a new Goddess Card!  Relena, the Bringer of the Dawn!

Hey everyone, as Jason has mentioned – the first arc of the story involves a tournament in the style of the yugioh classics. However, we don’t expect you to duel for nothing! The main purpose of the tournament is to decide who is worthy of receiving the grand prize – a rare card unlike any other. This card was commissioned and created, along with the avatar cycle, by the sponsor of the tournament… A mysterious woman who gave them to the academy’s chancellor for the school’s use, but with very specific instructions. These cards were to be earned by the school’s best duelists by anteing them against each other… And the grandest prize of all is for the winner of the tournament alone.

Her name is Relena. And this is her card.

Relena cannot be normal summoned.  She can be special summoned by returning three creatures you control to the deck.
When Relena enters the battlefield, pay any multiple of 1000 life-points. Her attack and defense are each equal to the total life paid this way.
At any time, you may pay 2500 life-points. If you do, cards you control cannot be destroyed this turn.
At the beginning of your standby phase, you may put up to two 500/500 spirit tokens into play. Then, you may gain 200 life-points for each creature you control.


Yes, that is the grand prize of the tournament – Relena, The Bringer of Dawn. She is the benevolent protector of all she holds sacred, and no price is too high to pay for that. She even brings you life itself, as long as you control creatures. And she provides you with up to two a turn in that regard, which can be kept for defense, used to buttress an attack or used for an effect.

Relena is truly a worthy goddess, at home in nearly any deck, and a worthier prize for the winner of the tournament. It doesn’t have to be darkest before the dawn.

It was a relinquished 1000 eye restrict based deck...I stopped playing after the pegasus deck came out because suddenly everyone had a relinquished..

So how will the sexy cards work anyway?

*Rachel giggles at relinquished* Actually, all cards from old sets are legal. Only the newest synchro monsters and their kin aren't. Keeping it relatively classical is a theme here, and Synchros kind of break that.

As for sexy cards - right now they're just something to spice up duels as you watch the naked mermaids dance. Once things get a bit more shadow-gamey though... The players themselves will be in for some fun!

Well, I've finished three games so far personally *winks*. It doesn't take too long if you post quickly. And I can assure you that it's rather fun. Also - we have some players who have never picked up a deck before this RP, so you'll be fine. The rules are made to even things out so casual players stand a chance, as well as creating fun deckbuilding challenges for those with a bit more experience.

Why don't you read a little of what we've written so far and go from there? Of course, you can ask us any questions you feel like too. I recommend reading the Duel of Fate thread's duel - it's both the first one we went into and it's absolutely epic.

And no, you don't need to post what your cards in hand and facedown are. They just did it because they wanted to. Personally, I keep mine hidden. I relish the suspense!

Cool! Just two rules you might want to bear in mind.

1) You can use only 1 copy of a card in a deck. This is to promote more exciting duels (and it's worked wonders so far) as well as to encourage more casual and expansive deck construction, so the casual players don't get eaten alive by top-tournament lists.

2) Even forbidden cards can be used, provided that only one copy is in use by all players at a time. This means that since Vergil has Black Luster Soldier, Envoy of the Beginning - no one else can have one. This rule might be tweaked if things get unfair, but we wanted to allow people to play with forbidden cards while simultaneously making sure that they're not the only things players play with.

Personality:  Rhyssa is a determined duelist, and very, very focused.  She is absolutely convinced that she can become a better duelist than all four of her brothers combined.  While she does like to have fun, for her, dueling and designing the best deck she can is far, far more important.  If you want to hang out with her, you’ll have to wait until she’s done with whatever it is that she’s working on.

However, being so focused on one thing has left her pretty much scatterbrained with regard to everything else.  She’s likely to be convinced that she’s locked herself out of her own dorm room while the key is hanging from a chain around her neck.  And, once she’s done her work, she’s happy to let her hair down.

This girl cares far less about winning than learning from her errors, and that means she duels, a lot. 

Duel Spirit's History:

History:
Growing up the youngest of five children in a farming community, the only girl of the bunch, Rhyssa found herself always being compared to her brothers.  It always seemed that they did this or that before her.  Not that she’d ever resent them. They’re very protective of their baby sister, but sometimes, that goes too far. 

When she got the opportunity to come to the academy, she jumped at it.  Finally, she’d have a chance to find her own footing and show them that she wasn’t a little girl anymore and could take care of herself.  Her deck began with cards from her brothers, hand me downs that simply grew from there.

Since she’s come to the academy, she’s fumbled a bit.  It’s not easy going from a hick town to the academy.  Still, she puts her best foot forward (even if it lands in her mouth from time-to-time) and gives it all she has.  She has managed to make a small group of friends that have become used to her ways and are more than happy to point out that her sunglasses are resting on top of her head.

Where she goes from here is anybody’s guess.

Sample Post:
Rhyssa couldn’t have been more relieved.  It was over, finally.  She’d won, but just barely, by the skin of her teeth.  But, what a contest!  Still, it had become clear to her that it was time to let go of Red Eyes Black Dragon and his kin for something more…practical.

She kissed the brothers goodbye, trading them out for something with more punch.  Thanks to her brothers, she’d managed to get her hands on some pretty nasty cards.  But, she’d never put them into play before, determined that she really didn’t need their help.

Still, for once, just this once, she might give it a go.  She fingered the cards, Caius the Shadow Monarch, Light and Darkness Dragon, and Heaven help her, Gilford the Lightning, “Okay, boys.”  She smiled, “This is your chance.  Don’t let me down.”  Carefully, she tucked them into her deck and started to shuffle.

When the Shadow Games start up, the holograms will be doing more than 'stuff' to each other, so yes.  For now though it's just the holograms going at it as they normally do, but we can make E-Cards, or cards that follow the same rules as their original copy, but they have a sexual feel to them.  Take Acid Trap Hole for instance.  You can turn it into Tentacle Trap Hole, but it would have to do the same thing as it did before you gave it a sexual makeover.  Understand now my friend?

Once I make a CS Sheet, it's non-negotiable.  Anywhere between 18 and 40, just as it says Carlissa.  Sorry, but as I've told other people, I don't like my CS Sheets messed around with just to fit one person.

And no, you don't HAVE to have E-cards, but others will so you might want to consider that before you make a male PC my friend.
