In the near future, slavery is legal, usually a punishment for a crime against another. Jared Callis obtained such a slave two years ago after a young woman tried to rob him. In that time, he has broken her completely, using her for whatever he desires.

He is surprised one day to find his slave's sister come to see him. She has spent the last two years building up enough money to buy the slave's freedom, but Jared promptly refuses the offer. The only thing he will take for the slave is another slave, so he can have the pleasure of breaking one again. With no other choice, the woman signs herself over to him.
