Question, ye who GMs:

Will there be any 'system' in place, be it hidden or visible?   I ask because I was just wondering how realistic proposing a mutation route that would be designed to mainly directly affect an opponent would be?  (IE Something designed to physically or mentally or damage an opponent.  Will there be some hidden or apparent trait like hit points or will power so that any directly-offensive style mutation isn't saying 'yep I can wipe out them alllll!!!!' Any of them.  With a zero fail rate!  Muahaha."  )

Cataclysmic Archangel

This is my application (whee!)
Gender:Male
Orientation: Heterosexual
Concept: Gun Nut Military strategist Survivor.  Let's face it.  there was a war.  A big one.  You can play with your computers and your cybernetics (he's got a few) and all of that crap, but nothing says 'get off my newly-claimed world' like a big fucking gun.  If anyone asked, he'd be in the 'protection' business, but really, he's just waiting for the next war to start.

Specialist Skills:  Making things hurt.  He's a master marksman; if it has a trigger, you're already dead.  Not too bad with other projectiles, like thrown weapons and the like.  A smattering of other training from military protocols; demolitions, survival, entrenchment.  He's also pretty good at reading a situation and coming up with tactical plans.  In essence, he's a soldier.

Mutation: Physics is a bitch.  All that crap about resistance, friction, kinetic and potential energy... you take a little from column a, put the rest in column b... Bullets hit harder, fly faster.  Stop when they suddenly run out of juice and lose to gravity.  People don't stop when they're trying to round a corner.  You know.  All sorts of mayhem.

As general with my games there will be something in place to let this happen. Since you're familiar with it, this game will run a health system very much akin to the one used in Pandemonium - the major exception being that Pand uses a very small "5 tick" system, where this game is more likely to expand it out and use, most likely, a "10 tick" system. So offensive and damaging powers are totally viable. Like wise from Pand there will be a hidden accuracy thing, and some things on the finalized version of the character sheet (like primary weapon / secondary weapon) that allow a character to alter how skilled they are with <something>.

Gathering submissions once more for ease of people looking. Should be giving some feedback on these today at some point.

Cerevan

Application HEYO
Gender: Female
Orientation: Omnisexual
Concept: Once upon a time there was a sweet princess. Then an army came and burned her kingdom down. It wasn't that the princess didn't want to weep for all that had been lost. It was just that she wanted the army to burn more than she wanted to grieve. So you see the princess became a dragon. The army burned, the world burned, the universe burned. Happy. Ever. After.

Contradictory as fuck, essentially. Most of the time she comes off as sweet and endearing and delicate. She likes pretty clothes, sparkly things, and the color pink. Half the time she can be found singing the kind of things that sound like sugar tastes. All her holodisks are fairytales. Such a princess. Then she engineers a bomb out of spare parts and blows up a half dozen people for the fucking hell of it and suddenly everyone sees the monster on a leash. (Who's holding the leash?) Probably she has some tragic backstory to justify the mass murder sprees. But she doesn't really care about justifying anything to anyone.

Okay, so she's a public menace of the first order. But that doesn't mean she doesn't have her uses. Every good band of mercs needs an engineering and demolitions expert with no pesky moral compass to get in the way, right?

[OOC Note: While it's not strictly necessary, this character could definitely use a "handler" or two. Or four. This doesn't necessarily mean someone more stable than she is or even that they necessarily wanted the job. Just someone who, for whatever reason, she's ride-or-die loyal to. The person holding the aforementioned leash to the monster.]

Specialist Skills: Highly skilled engineer. Can fix just about anything mechanical made in the last fifty or so years. It may take a while, depending on how familiar she is, but she can do it. Demolitions expert. Can build a bomb out of nearly anything.

Mutation: Fire Rebirth - Not your mama's brand of fireproof. True, she actually is fireproof. Flames won't hurt her. But when she's in (or on) fire, she actually heals. Re-energizes. Gets generally more awesome.

This is my application. There are many like it but this one is mine.

Gender: Female
Orientation: Pansexual
Concept: The doctor. An educated, gifted surgeon with a little bit of crazy on the side.

A trained surgeon with a -brief- military past. She's an angelic looking, talking and working girl with a deceptional innocence. Dedicated to her trade, she can make the impossible happen like any good miracle worker. And though first impressions are often far from the truth, at first glance you'd count her among heroes. It's only when you dig a little deeper that there's a bit of an unsettling truth.

The girl carries a curiosity and has a vast imagination, meaning that in her work she'll resort to methods you wouldn't easily find in any medical book. Some would be frowned upon, others could serve to horrify you at first and, perhaps, make you question the legitimacy of her diplomas. True, she does cure, heal and mend her patients, but her true interests lie in the augmentation of people, in making them better than they were before they were injured or fell ill. Unfortunately, most of her patients do not share such enthusiasm, and an inability to find an outlet for her more creative outbursts cause her to resort to less... conventional solutions.

Specialist Skills: Certified Trauma Surgeon. Steady hands, incredible medical knowledge and a genius in their field of expertise. Can handle a ton of pressure, in fact, has a way to focus under the most extreme circumstances.

Mutation:The ability to see and move through solid matter. This includes organic matter, allowing her to see into the body of her patient (and reach inside if need be).

Saphir

This is my application. Hope it works!
Gender: Male
Orientation: Homosexual

Concept: Just a boy growing up as the child of a couple of Outlanders who discreetly served in the resistance against the Kintar Directorate. Having lost both and still believing in their cause, he grew up in the care of is parent's friend, an uncle figure and lived in the lower working class parts of Emperios near the slums of the capital. He had wealth in is mind; always seemed to be top of his class masquerading as a 'Know-It-All' or genius but discreetly had an advantage over his more 'normal' peers. His uncanny computer skills earned him a spot as IT tech within one of the Kintar Directorate's Prison Facilities. Spending a good year to build credit as an outstanding employee until is agenda was revealed as he initiated a system failure for the facility as a reminder that the Directorate's were not all controlling and knowing...and because he was bored on his lunch break. A riot ensued as it allowed several hundred criminals free and he taking his leave among the chaos. He's been drifting/on the run since.

Temperament is pretty laid back and surprisingly upbeat; borderline sociopath displayed with black humor that he enjoys trolling people with by giving disturbing and violent suggestions on how to deal with a situation before actually coming up with a true solution. Has a weakness for frozen drinks and gummy candies.

Specialist Skills: Strategist/Hacker. Wears a tech set of an earpiece that turns into a pair of holographic shades with a wireless broadband computer network and a wrist watch that provides a holographic iconographic keyboard. These shades can be interfaced with any external data network to further aid him in his hackalation (or so thats what he calls it). Also as basic combat skills and is a pretty decent shot with a hand gun. Can't be all brains, there has to be a tiny bit of brawn for self defense.

Mutation: Cyber Mind; his brain operates in the same manner as an computer giving him unlimited storage capacity and can perform several mental functions at once by assigning a partition of his brain to each task without losing focus on any of them; with the exception of creating his own 'Firewall' as a natural defense to prevent telepathic invasion/mental probing. Much like how Anti-Virus software slows down a computer's functions, his 'Firewall' drains most of his processing power limiting him access to his own memory banks and rendering him as mundane as a normal person's brain.

Otherwise he can specific information with incredible speed and accuracy since everything he experiences is stored as photographic memory and retrieve it immediately without pausing. Also gains enhanced computer perception that enables him to interface with computers and IT networks to manipulate, download and gather information or to sabotage them.

He also has weaknesses that a computer has, making him vulnerable to neural viruses that can spread and wreak havoc on his mind's databanks or can be rendered unconscious and brain-dead by an EMP until his mind is able to reboot. He's able to stay up several days without sleep but eventually he needs to 'shut down' and sleep to refresh his mind. And of course he still needs to eat and poop.

And yes, he as a pressure area that acts as a 'restart' button in his brain where his belly button is should he experience any difficulties in processing data.

This is my application!  Read it and weep!
Gender: Female
Orientation: Pansexual
Concept: She was your everyday kid, not a lot of money, not terribly poor.  A bit of one odd one though.  She loved to torment everyone around her, to pry at them to get information she thought would be interesting.  This grew in her and she took a healthy (read: unhealthy) fascination with torture.  She loved pain, inflicting and having it inflicted upon herself.  A sadist and a masochist rolled into one.  Eventually, her dalliances into her torturing ways were found out, but she was so hard to keep pinned down.

She was caught, imprisoned and after spending a month or so in prison, she just vanished.  A string of deaths followed shortly after her escape.  Mostly those who were involved with her capture.  Some ended up tied to their beds, chests split open, blood splattered everywhere.  Organs cast aside like refuse.  To her, these people were refuse, to be slaughtered and there was nothing they could do to stop her.

She's a tried and true psychopath.  She loves killing, loves pain, loves fucking.  A hedonist to the core, but also.. more.  She has a need to torture, it's her drug of choice.. the screams.. the exquisite agony.

Specialist Skills: Assassination/Torture expert.  Expert blade user (knives, swords, energy blades, you name it she's probably tried it out at least).  Fairly skilled with guns, mostly long arms (ie: sniper rifles).

Mutation: Teleportation.  She can diffuse her individual atoms in one place and reintegrate them at another.  Though, she is limited in that she has to be fairly familiar with the place she is going to.

Amarlo

Good Golly Miss Molly
Gender: Female
Orientation: Heterosexual, Demisexual
Concept: The Saboteur. What started out as a young life among gangsters and the world’s lowliest of low lives turned into a vendetta that became a uniquely satisfying career. She had a knack for sabotage and she had absolutely no problem fuckin’ other people’s plans up – Criminals, Big brother, Big brand companies, you name it. So why not get paid to do it?

Specialist Skills: She specializes in all things Sabotage – Stealth, Hacking, Infiltration, Property and Information Destruction, Information Gathering, Recon. She can get in, make a copy of a business’s latest breakthrough, destroy all of the original information and get out without leaving so much as a trace of her. Or she could just leave a bomb, or whatever. The options are limitless - in the long run it fucks over someone.

Mutation: Phantom Clone – She is capable of creating a phantom double of herself, much like astral projection. The phantom can only travel a certain range from her, it can pass through walls, collect visual information but can’t interact with anything and leaves her physical form vulnerable. However, this ability is unique in that when the double has reached its final destination she can either recall it to her instantly or call herself to its position instead.

Lockepick

This is multiple applications; we are Legion
Gender: Male
Orientation: Homosexual
Concept: Son of rich parents, he was living the life of a high profile, quasi-celebrity heir. He was a reality star, but his time in the public eye portrayed him as being a hedonist with poor impulse control, a paragon of the dumb, spoiled brat -- and it wasn't entirely incorrect. When it was found out that he was an Outlander, he was cut off from his family and forced out of the public. He originally did everything he could to stay in the spotlight, including chaos, crime, and general showing off of his abilities, but the media only wanted to show Outlanders fail and look silly.

With his old life taken away from him, his tactics for attention became more extreme. It was originally as a way to self destruct, but after so much success, he's grown to love his new life. He's taken to producing his own videos, putting them across social media and pirate channels. Joining up with the Hellions gives him a constant source of adrenaline and always something new to broadcast.

Specialist Skills: The Face: He's always been charming enough to fit into any situation, to get people to give him whatever he wants. Now, an expertise with holographic technology combined with his own Mutation allows him to assume any identity. When he's unable to talk his way in, a base understanding of current security systems allows him to bypass and disrupt them. When violence is the only option, he offers distractions and impact through sonic screams.

Mutation: Acoustikinesis: His vocal cords and lungs are enhanced to allow him to project sounds well beyond the range and force of a typical human. His most common tricks include: mimicking any voice or sound he's heard before; creating 'white noise' to effectively silence ambient or quiet noise; creating high pitched screams that can shatter fragile materials; and creating super sonic screams that can knock away with concussive force, often disorienting living targets as well as blasting them.

*As a note: The idea of Broadcasting intends to be through unofficial channel -- the equivalent of YouTube -- and would be heavily edited to not actually expose who anybody was; unless were all already living under the radar. This whole idea can be scrapped, and could just be my character filming himself -- since his identity is just one of many anyway.

Iceman

-Hellions Character Sheet-
Victor Daniel Archibald III
Iceman

The Handeler

David Rosenberg
Male | Pansexual
College | 29 | European
Blue | 5'10 | 168lbs | Brown

Description
Victor was born into the illustrious Archibald family, a bloodline that was - some say - bought onto the Genesis Ships and kept a strong bloodline because of commands given by the ship’s computer. The truth about this isn’t much known, but it is known that the Archibalds have been major players on Kintar since the legendary Generation 1 that settled the planet. Before the time of the Kintari Directorate they sat on the council of leadership, and it’s in part due to the families support that Aaron Marx was able to forge such a strong presence and get the Directorate going in the first place. Victor should have been the heir to that name, as his father Victor Daniel Archibald II had intended, but little Victor had other plans. Young Victor saw all that his family had to offer and realized that it was a fate worse than death: a boring life. So he took the skills and knowledges his family’s status and wealth afforded him and then he just up and left.

He vanished and changed his name, plunging himself deep underground where he was certain that he would not be found. As the world grew with Usoba technology, he learned and adapted, and found that he was very good with technology in general. That was when the alias, Iceman, was born - and Victor hasn’t looked back to his old self since.

David is a guy who has grown to love fun, excitement and breaking the law. He doesn’t believe in the Directorate or what it stands for, but he sure as hell doesn’t agree with the agenda of the Heirs either. He’s changed himself so much over the years that the look of the Archibald family is gone from him, so that he can freely walk around the city without being recognized. He keeps himself fairly well groomed, but has been known to sport the scruffy look from time to time - typically when he’s forgotten to do anything about it because of business. Morals, for him, are a thing that need to change constantly to handle the situation at hand. Sticking with one set always seemed, to him, to be a really bad idea. Victor has exceptional organizational skills as well as very solid logic and reasoning, which make him great at planning for most contingencies.

Of course the last little note that his family never got to learn about, as his mutation didn’t present itself until after he had fled them, was the fact that the great and pure Archibald line had been corrupted by him - an Outlander. Just one more way he fucked up his parents plans.

Know For
Six years ago Iceman launched a cyber attack against the Archibald family as well as the Kintari Directorate. The actual amount of money that was taken between the two is unknown as the details were never released - however it became quick knowledge that however much was taken from the Archibald family was enough to crash their entire hold on the Directorate and bring the family to ruin.

Iceman is on the Kintari Directorate’s list of most wanted individuals, ranked Number 3 with a bounty of over five million credits for his successful capture - alive or dead, with subsequent rewards of one hundred thousand credits to any individual who provides viable information that results in flushing him out.

Alien Mutation
Victor’s mind is almost as advanced as an artificial intelligence. He can process information at incredible speeds and actually record things that he sees, hears, and otherwise experiences and commit them to a seemingly endless memory. An extension of this ability allows him to literally project images from his mind’s eye. As he desires he can project holographic like images to display what is in his head.

Wispyr

-Hellions Character Sheet-
Mikhail Crowley Sokolov
Eclipse

Frontal Assault

Adam Cowie
Male | Heterosexual
H Standard | 24 | Russian
Brown | 6’2 | 179lbs | Brown

Description
Mikhail was born into what should have been a pretty average life, and if he wasn’t an Outlander, it probably would have been just that. Average. Mundane. Luckily - not not, depending on perspective - for him, he was born an Outlander. His early childhood was pretty quiet. He grew up with an average family, in a pretty average city, in a pretty average neighborhood with pretty average everything else. Right until he was in his early teens and his power manifested at school of all things. Some punk kid got in his face, decided to bully Mikhail and he had enough - a cloud of blackness enveloped them and only horrified screams followed. Moments later the darkness receded and Mikhail stood over his broken victim. That was also the moment that he was taken away from his family and imprisoned in a Kintari Directorate research facility; surprise, this turned out to be code for Kintari Directorate prison facility.

In this facility the Directorate had taken in others of the still only just becoming discovered Outlanders and were doing research on them, trying to identify exactly what they were in the first place. They treated them, sort of, like people. They were educated, clothed, and even fed. Which was nice except the part where they were also subjected to pretty awful testing, beatings and stress in the name of science and security. All in all it was a pretty miserable experience. One that Mikhail ended as he entered his young adult life. He’d been taken in when he was twelve, and by the time he was eighteen he’d pretty much had enough of their shit. During what had become a pretty standard rotation from one place to another, he called up his power, killed the guard and stole his weapon. Sheltered by his darkness Mikhail, along with other freed prisoners, made his way through the facility and ultimately broke out - but only after inflicting terrible vengeance upon his long time captors.

Into the world, with no home that he remembered and all but deleted from society, he had to live a very different way. He became a sell-sword of sorts, offering skills to the highest bidder. Sure the jobs weren’t always nice, or the greatest, but they earned him money and gave him a life. It took three years before Mikhail had actually defined himself as a person again. During this time he discovered that he was good at what he was doing, and that he liked it. He also realized that he could take on bigger fish, and upped his game.

Mikhail is a tall guy with a build fitting of his activities - which means he’s exceptionally well defined. Muscular might be an overstatement of his form, but certainly on that side of well toned. He’s a man with simple tastes, both in clothing and actions and typically prefers the quickest most no bullshit method of getting things done. Plans that require you to jump through hoops, cut corners and are overly convoluted tend to annoy him - especially if it can be as easy as ‘go in, get it done, leave’. Having been shown limited kindness in his life, he’s not what anyone would call a kind man, that said he isn’t one to go out of his way to be cruel either. He’s not fond of liars, and cheats - people who double cross him do not live to regret it. He’s proven that he has a penchant for surviving bad situations, even if it’s not always in the best of shape. He’s a fighter who prefers the up close and personal kill; he’s the mercenary who is driven as much by thrill and challenge as he is by profit and opportunity.

Lastly Mikhail is a lost soul with a lot of demons to fight against. His time in the Directorate facility did a serious number to him, and while he’s learned to cope and put on a good face, the truth is that he’s haunted and tormented by the past - in addition to things that have happened since then. Because of these two things he is fiercely, even savagely, opposed to the Kintari Directorate.

Know For
While Mikhail has performed a number of impressive feats, without a doubt the thing that he is most well known for - both publically and by his enemies - is the escape from the Directorate facility. It happened during a time when the public opinion on Outlanders was just forming and they were being painted by Directorate propaganda was making them out to be monsters. Mikhail’s escape and killing of many Directorate officers and scientists was a public affair that only further depicted them as monsters. While his escape has made him a person of extreme interest to the Directorate, and a desperately wanted asset to reclaim, he has not managed to make the most wanted list.

Alien Mutation
Mikhail can exude an inky blackness, the initial burst can instantly cover nearly ten feet in all directions centered on him. After that he can continue to pump the darkness out and cause his black cloud to expand, and with enough time he could fill a theoretically limitless amount of space with it. This darkness is not like night, but rather like the abyss. It is absolute and can not be seen through by normal means, and within the cloud it is almost as if things don’t exist - things such as sensory equipment and special versions of sight (night vision, infrared, etc) can’t penetrate the outer limits of the cloud. Mikhail, however, is able to see through his cloud as though it weren’t there, while gaining other benefits so long as he remains within the confines of the cloud. He is keenly aware of the location and movements of others within the cloud, able to track the slightest tremble of bodies. Further, so long as he remains within the cloud he is considerably stronger and faster then normal. Mikhail can pull all of his blackness back into himself over a few moments, literally absorbing it back into his body - though if he doesn’t recall it any blackness left after he leaves the area (such as creating the initial cloud and then moving forward enough that his continued production of the blackness is not connected to the original cloud) rapidly dissipates over roughly one minute.

Orange Marmalade

I'll Have Another!
Gender: Male
Orientation: Homosexual
Concept: The Drunken Assassin. On the surface he looks like a lazy drunk fratboy and sometimes druggy. But in the end it is all a front for a hired killer. He gets into bar fights, sleeps past noon, and is hungover until about 4, but that leaves plenty of time in the evening to get business done, and when it is time for business he is all business. His family was originally Chinese back on Earth but is now simply quite mixed, but one skill they passed down to one Patriarch or Matriarch each generation is the art of killing, and they've been doing it since the first humans arrived on Kintar. Bare hands or minor tools or occasionally poison is the primary choice (though he's not above using blades when necessary), its all easy, so is getting into and out of most anywhere, regardless of the technology used. Eschews most technology though isn't stupid enough to handicap himself and is well versed.
Specialist Skills: Hand to hand, close quarters combat with a side of thrown weapons (Short range fighter, specializing in taking out low to medium armored opponents). Assassination. Infiltration. Interrogation. Drinking nearly anybody under the table.

Mutation: I Know Kung Fu - At heart, his power is simply an internal sort of telekinesis. In practice, he can essentially channel this into the sort of things you'd see in a movie like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Think catching swords in your hands, slicing a bullet in half, climbing up buildings, great leaps and gliding to the ground, striking with extreme force, maintaining traction in impossible conditions, or applying unexplainable weight with only a touch. Examples here and here.

And another one... Woot!

Finishing up a big project for another game. Looking to get to feedback here tonight once I finish.

Wispyr

Okay so... For everyone's knowledge Cerevan is unable to join us and has withdrawn interest.

@Dominique: Like what I seee. Doctors are good. Would like some clarity on what she's done that would make her stand out to Iceman. Power looks good, shouldn't be any issues with it. Fairly certain it fits within the general power scope.

@Saphir: If I'm reading that correctly (and I may not be, it's been a long day) he's the child of Outlanders? That's not possible given the timeline. Doesn't change much, but for your reference. Otherwise like the idea. Him doing that on a whim is great fun. You said you may change his mutation? So I'll hold back until I know more.

@Lindrea: Torturer! Yay those! That said, I'm a little curious how you feel she'll fit into the 'family' dynamic that's being built. Doesn't read as if she'll place nice with others. Otherwise, fun concept. Her power may need to be toned in the future, but teleportation in general isn't off the table. Depending on what else we end up in we may just need to wrangle it in.

@Amarlo: We've discussed. Sabotage is great, love the idea. And I made the power... Soooo >.>.

@Lockepick: Hrm. This is an interesting idea, his broadcasting. I'll need to think about how Iceman would handle this, but the concept itself is very neat. Mutation seems solid enough, I doubt it'll require much if any tweaking.

@Arcannyx: An all around soldier type is good. Has a heavy gunner vibe that I did. Going to need to take a look at the mutation - the concept is fine, but depending on the scope of approved mutations it may need to be wrangled in some. Will know in the future.

@Orange: We've also discussed. Mmmm Matrix stuff.

Intimate Ink

Mini-Application Sheet: Niall "Eldritch" Khufu
Gender: Male
Orientation: Demi-sexual
Concept:  Being on the outside was, in some ways, what Niall Khufu has always been about.  An actual orphan in a time where most anyone might feel like one, Niall was raised with strict morality and a  fear of offending whatever cruel divine being was beyond mortal chaos.  While in the strange despair of contemporary times, many followers of religion were already lost, the cult-like patron of Niall's orphanage advocated for an approach to the world simple enough: the universe had been abandoned due to sins of exploration, vanity, and indulgence.  Piety was the only way to turn a neglectful Makers head back towards what must have been originally intended to be long after the apocalypse.  Niall was a zealous, fervent, even charismatic follower and pseudo-child of the organization until the day he began manifesting his alien powers.

Niall was cast out from the orphanage's grace, and labeled not only an aberration, but a demon, in their eyes.  After an adjustment period he resumed to speak on the streets, but with a different message entirely:  Abandon morality and order.  Let the Directorate and Heirs of Kintar jerk each-other off mid-combat in search of the moral high-ground.  We were all borne from beasts and it is beasts that we  once again are destined to become.  Niall has now more than made up for his early attempts at trying to "save" the masses, and instead, with the assistance of his mutation, has taken more than his fair share down the path of his personal enlightenment, which often includes depravity... even sometimes insanity.  Tired of the bankroll of a street preacher and occasional low-life criminal, however, he seeks greater money and freedom via the Hellions to put the life of an orphan  behind him.

Specialist Skills: Charisma/Persuasion, Criminal contacts, Intimidation, Stealth, Street Smarts

Mutation: Sanity Manipulation - Depending on the scope and level power in the game, Niall has one (or possibly more) of the following abilities: 1) 'Crowd Control' abilities with a chance to temporarily drain the mental sanity and/or moral resolve of one or more targets, 2) The ability to more permanently weaken the moral resolve and sanity of a single individual, 3) A non-controllable handicap of slowly draining the inner resolve and sanity from non-mutants the more they are around him, 4) An uncontrolled ability to turn some of his victims into obsessed and near-useless muttering/insane 'followers' .

Edit: Fixed some syntax errors that were nagging at my OCD.

AribethAmkiir

Regrettably, I'm going to step away from this one.

I love the story idea, though.

I'm thinking she's very very loyal to those that care for her or take her in.  She loves torturing is the idea, but she does it for a purpose and for fun.  Information, any information.  I don't intend for her to play nice with others, except for the family.  She'd need a very good reason to be a part of it all though.

As for the teleportation, it could be short jumps.  A few hundred feet, if that.

@Arcannyx: An all around soldier type is good. Has a heavy gunner vibe that I did. Going to need to take a look at the mutation - the concept is fine, but depending on the scope of approved mutations it may need to be wrangled in some. Will know in the future.

My original concept, honestly, was actually gravity.  You make something heavier (and hit harder) by changing how gravity plays on it.  You make gravity have less effect, and suddenly you're leaping tall objects... or worse, not coming down after someone gives them the hadouken from hell.  Plus, you mentioned dragging battlecruisers out of the sky, and I thought 'Gravity sucks on spaceship, bitches!' ... but I thought that it would be less useful in a firearms design, and you had already seen one of my bruisers (albeit very briefly).

Honestly, his powers do not HAVE to match his skill set, and the gravity one might be a bit easier (harder?) to work with.

We're still taking the applications folks. Be sure to drop in if interested. Won't close recruitment until probably mid this coming week - new interest pending.

Mini-App has been adjusted good sir.

@Lockepick: Hrm. This is an interesting idea, his broadcasting. I'll need to think about how Iceman would handle this, but the concept itself is very neat. Mutation seems solid enough, I doubt it'll require much if any tweaking.

I am totally willing to play with what does/doesn't get broadcasted -- or dropping that specific notion entirely. It sort of depends how 'under the radar' we are -- or if we're well known. If we're doing some super stealth mission and we're not connected to something in any way -- obviously he wouldn't be like "Haha, that was us!" Think about it like a 'calling card' for the Hellions -- but that depends on whether or not they're too discreet to consider a calling card.

Depends where we fall on the sliding scale of 0-10 where 0 is Shadowrun and 10 is a DC villain.

For current and prospective players

There is some consideration being tossed into opening up an additional 2 slots in this game, taking to the total to seven players, rather then the original five intended. However to go this route we would need to look at the current presented cast and look at some of the overlap we have and see who has alternate character ideas / would be willing to change it up. In this case I would switch over to a female character, who would likely take on a sniper role. Given that of the current 5 male applicants we have

2 social characters
1 hacker w/ a social power

So a couple of points, first I want to make sure that all participants know that the post time will be three to four days - I'll likely keep it at 4 for sake of ease. With that said, what're peoples thoughts on upping 2 more slots? Who has alternate ideas (mostly directed at our male cast members, the girls are all well varied :P). There's definitely room for a social character, or two if their skill sets are widely varied. I'm a little worried about a hacker feeling upstaged by Iceman - though a change to more a tinkerer/on the fly computer guy might not be bad.

My only thought is that a 4 day turnaround with a 7 day cast might be pretty difficult. I really do like the idea of a 4 day cycle though.

I'm about as social as, well, the gun he's carrying, so I'm not sure if this is directed at me.

I don't mind opening up to 7.  I also would not hate if it was decided that there were too many people and there wasn't a spot for me; I'm bugging you in DS (twice) and possibly Pande, so it won't be the end of the world if that scenario happens.  Upsetting, sure.  Heartbreaking, no.

Amarlo

I also have no issue dropping out to make things less complicated. I have no problem with adding two people to the slot either, and I agree with Om on the 3-4 day turn over. Maybe it'd be better to make it a solid 5 days then?

If I do expand the player pool, I will likewise increase the cycle time.

My personal vote would be, like Amarlo said, no more than a 5 day cycle, I really like the idea of something a bit fast paced.

A 7 person group has the bonus of where a person dropping out doesn't overly affect the group as a whole and wouldn't really ruin anything.

But a 5 person group keeps things fast and scrappy, and I like the idea of a good paced small group, too.

So really both work for me! I'm leaning slightly towards the smaller/faster group but am totally open.

Lockepick

I'm happy to offer a new idea so that we don't have the overlap of two social based characters (and because I'd rather have an option that includes both Ink and myself anyway) -- especially if there was any question about the broadcasting concept.

I will say that as much as I'd like seven people -- some of the character focuses are pretty broad, and seven people is just going to have overlap. With characters being made independently, it might be tough to not have some pretty heavy overlap. I'm not saying that overlap is necessarily bad, but if you did want specific roles, keeping the five minimum might be best. As much as that likely hurts my chances.

Some overlap is totally expected. For instance we're likely going to operate under the assumption that everyone has basic skills with weapons in general.

That said I'm currently tinkering around with a "trait & proficiency" that I may use to let each character buy what they feel is appropriate for them and set up some very clear differences between the cast. More on this to come a little later.

My thoughts:

1)  I would be happy to re-gender my character appropriately to a female if it would help.  While I have not written females on Elliquiy, I certainly have a history of writing them, and believe I can do it very respectfully while still taking into account the tone of the game.
2)  I would also be happy to write a more combat-heavy character.  I would be transparent here and say I'd probably be throwing some questions/ideas off our GM despite the general recruiting tone of this game:  As many of you who play with me know, I usually far more often hit close to rogue/mage/healer archetypes in system-esque games, so just would probably be asking for a little guidance/opinions along the way of forming the new sheet.
3) While I would still be all-in if the turn-around was four days, I would, with much love, likely withdraw my application on a 3 day turn-around.  Generally speaking my work shifts come in three's, and they are 12+ hours long.  That's USUALLY not a problem because I have enough downtime to write, but not definitely not always.  3 days vs 4 days is a huge difference for me because writing after that kind of shift sucks, especially when you just left and have to sleep and have another one in ten hours and counting.
4) I have no direct opinion on 5 vs 7 slots.  That strikes me as a meta-decision best left to an orchestrating/GM who can make the call in terms of how many and which characters fit his view of a balanced, cohesive, and competent team for this particular project, both IC and OOC.

Elf

I'm unfortunately going to have to withdraw my interest in this. Dealing with my accident and injury I have behind in other games and have not thought of a good character for this. I still it is a very interesting idea and looks like fun, which I hope it is for all those involved. I just won't be able to join you.
