So I know I am not the only football fan on E, even if my team is not playing I am happy with who is going to the game.

Who are you rooting for?
What are you doing? Game, stay at home? Hitting a Casino? Superbowl party?
Are you putting a little money on the line?

I am looking forward to the game, I am really interested in how these two heavy defense teams are gonna play. Pass or catching game, if it is the former, people are giving Green bay the advantage but I can not deny that Steelers know what they are doing.

Discuss!

Remiel

If Green Bay had a halfway decent offensive line Aaron Rodgers would be unstoppable.

I really have no strong feelings either way, but I'm pulling for the Pack as the Wild Card underdogs.  That and the Steelers tend to play dirty sometimes.

We play hard and tough and if you don't like it take your whimpy bum in your hands and go home!

I am, of course, rooting for the Steelers!

I think the biggest asset they have is Super Bowl experience.  There are enough SB alums to keep the team centered and focused on the game.  We have a quarter back that can keep his head and make plays out of nothing.  He want to be on the top of the winning list and LXV will get him one step closer.  Every other player is looking at this the same way.  Pittsburgh is a town built on firsts and we want to be the first with 7 Lombardi trophies.

We need to establish a running game with some good pass yardage thrown in and hold GBs offense down to a handful of yards then make the have to come up with a game plan to counter what we put up against them.  I have a feeling it's going to be a close game, though, and I'll probably have a stroke before it's done! ;D

GO STEELERS!

Sports? Ewwwwww.......

The only thing I'm looking forward to is the Dragon Ball Z kai Marathon...I care nothing for this....Foot-ball, of which you speak.

Well since I abandoned my home town Eagles after the last offseason, and especially after #7 became the starter (I just can't forgive or suuport a team that has him as their QB), I took up my dad's favorite team (and was rewarded with a Rodgers jersey for christmas).

So, go Green Bay!

If only they had cheerleaders... a Rodgers-Matthews-me storyline... yum!

Well, since my Falcons blew it, I'm just happy that a few certain teams didn't make it in (Patriots, Colts, and Jets, I'm looking at you!). So as for the game, I really don't care who wins. I just hope its not a blowout. And I'm hoping for certain scoring options at the end of each quarter. *quickly hides hir Super Bowl Pool chart*

Could not have said it better myself, Beguile!  We don't play nice, we play FOOTBALL!  I've always liked the Packers, in fact they're my number three team, right after the Eagles, but my Steelers made it and they damn well better go all the way and not break my heart this season.  Wishing I was spending the game with my man and his family as I have a fun little grudge match going on with his cousin (who purposely roots for whatever team is playing AGAINST the Steelers <.<).  But alas I am stuck in this frigid wasteland and attempting to convince my aunt to throw a Super Bowl party since her new boyfriend is a football fan :P *crosses fingers*  Whatever happens I know I'll be downing beers and screaming at the tv ... and my mom will probably be shaking her head and saying I get it from my dad.

Wrong thread, exit left or right please.

I knew Bemi would come out and support her team, I saw it in her tag under her Avi but I have to admit I like seeing ladies into sports. I am sure that you Pittsburgh fans can school me on your team any day.

I am leaning towards Steelers myself, a friendly wager between friends.

Still not sure if I am going to go or host my own party, hosting means I have a mess to clean up, so I might end up trying to hit up a sports bar that night.

Kye

I'm actually a huge football fan most of the time, but this season was just blah to me overall.  I don't care much for either team, but I'm not a fan of the Steelers at all, so I'll be rooting for the Packers.  If I watch it this year it will be more for the commercials than anything, or just to hang out with friends and chat for a few hours with the game on in the background.

Go Broncos!

Er.....wait.....

*laughs*

Well since my team isn't in it this year, I'm not really rooting for anyone.  I will probably watch the game, if I can get my hubby off of the xbox long enough, but I don't really have a favorite team to root for.

I'm conflicted, I want delicious super bowl foods, but I'm not into big burly red headed men...can i have the former and no the latter?

Aside from the gambling, I am in total agreement with this.  Certain teams seem to get talked about ENDLESSLY throughout the season, and it just drives me crazy.  Having my ears raped with commentary and drama about the Jets/Patriots game nearly made me want to swear off pro football entirely. :-(  But then neither of them made it to the Super Bowl!  HA!  And the Cowboys had a terrible season in their new stadium, and get to watch the Super Bowl get played in their house while they watch.  Not too shabby.*

All in all, while my Titans were miserable, the season actually turned out a lot better than it might have. ;D

Go Green Bay! ;D

My boyfriend, myself and some other friends, we'll go to a Super Bowl Party here. Should be great fun. I'm really looking forward to it!

Valerian

I'm normally not a huge football fan, but since I was born within three miles of the stadium, my father had season tickets (and also helped design portions of Lambeau Field), and I once lived, literally, across the street from the aforementioned stadium, I'm obliged to root for the Pack.  ;D

Considering that Green Bay's division is commonly known as the "Black and Blue" division, due to the intensity with which the teams there tend to play, I don't think the Steelers play any tougher than the Packers.  (They might, however, play meaner.  I haven't researched that.   ::))

Yeah, the Packers only won the first Super Bowl.  And the second one.  And nine NFL championships before there even was a Super Bowl.  ;)

Well, whenever the Steelers play the Ravens, its dubbed the "Black and Blue Bowl", so if that is any indication, it should be a good, tough, intense match.

Will

Alright, I think I'm over the Super Bowl now.  We just got several more inches of snow on top of the ice already present, and things are kind of at a standstill.  Most resources are committed to the area around Cowboys Stadium, for obvious reasons, which means that only the most traveled roadways outside of that area are being cleared.  Yayyyyyy Super Bowl. -_-

My Giants are out so I don't really care who wins, but any team with fans who wear cheese on their heads has to be good in my book.  So the Pack it is.

Go Broncos!

It hasnt been the same without Shanahan at the helm.

Super glad that the Colts didnt make it.

I have been pulling for the Steelers cause I really like Roethlisberger and I hope its a good game with alot of scoring.  Oh, and I am hoping there are some funny commercials too  ^.^
