Back here, one of the more popular media topics in recent days was (surprise, surprise) another case of madness on the side of the PiS government.

This time around, it's the defense minister. A few days ago, he was called to the Parliament to explain to the MPs the details behind the failed helicopter deal with France. And, while talking from the Parliament stand, he made a rather baffling statement.

Basically, a few years ago, Russia ordered two Mistral warships from France. The ships were built, but France cancelled the deal because of Russia's actions in Crimea. Then, France sold the ships to Egypt. Last week, our defense minister made a claim that the same ships have recently been resold by Egypt to Russia... for the price of $1 each  ::)

If this was true, then it would a *huge* news, as it would mean that France broke the sanctions against Russia (France would have to give a permission to Egypt to resell the ships). The thing is, it's not true. Apparently, the defense minister (or his staff) has found the story on the Internet and believed it. Just like that. Even though there's no proof for that - in fact, there's solid proof that the ships in questions are still in use by the Egypian navy.

One of our politicians commented on this whole situation: "Could somebody please explain the Defense Minister that not everything he reads on the Internet is true? Next time, he might make a claim that President Obama is a lizardman from outer space".  ;D And it's true - the minister is known for making various outlandish claims. The problem is, he says things like that and he still doesn't get fired.  >:( This guy is in charge of our military! You can't let the military be run by a guy who is so grossly incompetent that he can't see through some fake article on the Internet... And yet, there he is. That's the PiS government for you...

Shortly after the PiS government was formed, the Defense Minister held a press conference about... something. As usual, there were questions. And one lady asked: "What is the Ministry of Defense going to do regarding the illegal experiments involving electromagnetic weapons* on Polish citizens?".

(*electromagnetic weapons, as in: telepathic mind control rays etc.)

And the Minister, in a dead serious voice, replied:

"Yes, we do have reports on this happening in some regions of Poland. We will investigate".

Seriously, the "lizardman from space" joke was not that far off...

If it wasn't for China, this wouldn't be a problem. They pretty much have made NK their lap dog to keep South Korea from getting too close to them.

Once upon a time humanity rejected fuedalism in favour of nationalism, and just as fuedalism it's only a matter of time before nationalism has outlived it's usefullness. It does seem like one of those things that you can't really take credit for "Inventing". I mean, it's been years since someone suggested that drones could deliver pizza, so strapping a bomb on them is hardly the most innovative idea. x)

Well a lot of "modern medicine is a scam" types would rather have dead children than autistic ones, so I really can't put it past them to even inadvertently put them in harm's way in the name of "treatment."

I know this may come off as hyperbolic and out of the blue, but combined with denying their children basic medical care even in the face of them dying from viruses and exposing others makes me less willing over time to attribute any charity to them.

A protest by Berkley students to get a safe space moved from the basement to the 5th floor prevents students form going to class. As well as to create safe spaces for Non White students.

And the protest formed a human chain that did not allow anyone white to pass through them, while allowing people of color to move through unmolested.

Part of what they want is a safespace only for people of color....am I the only one who sees the problems of this? Its like a return to 'Separate but Equal'.
