Exalted Essence one shot

This is going to be a relatively short and straightforward one shot, just to get a feel for the rules and see how they play. Wandering adventurers, village of pitiful peasants, danger .. you know the drill :)

Allowed Exalt types: Solars, Lunars
Considered on a case by case basis: Dragonbloods, Sidereals, Getimian, Liminal, Exigents
Not allowed: Abyssals, Infernals, Alchemicals

I'm looking to keep things fairly simple and straightforward for an initial test of the system, so limiting the available types this time around. I'd prefer the majority of the group be Solars, since this fits the story best, but am open to a minority of other Exalts.

Anyone game to give it a go?

So, Exigents are exalted by exigence which is the energy Sol gives to a god or goddess who pleads to create a champion of their own correct?

I would be curious to try out creating such an exalt, but we need to establish a strong story for the origin of such a character and more so god or goddess who created the champion and make it sound relevant to be in the group.

I am leaning towards that whatever pitiful village the exalts are saving, the said village god (before the rest of the cast appears) begged Sol for salvation for the village and succeeded in getting exigence and turned one locals into a champion of said god or goddess (even go so far as god or goddess entirely extinguish themselves in the process).

Hairy, would you be open to a Getimian? Was thinking using my Lookshy ranger idea, going with the concept that she was part of the first force rangers, exalting during a dangerous operation against an anathema that nearly failed. When she came to, she awoke with the memory of a world where she did exalt... A world where she had risen in the ranks of the Lookshy army to the point of being one of it's greatest generals. The knowledge that she could have lived that life made her determined to use her newly gained power to carve a piece of glory for herself in the world.

To be fair myq eclipse is probably beyond a one shot. But we'll see what happens.

Shadowfox’s idea might well make a Dawn superfluous, but I could make a Twilight instead.

Dawn passive power is different enough from a summer that there shouldn't be conflict. Dawn get Combat heavy abilities while the Summer one leans more to social stuff. She's going to fit between a Dawn and Eclipse.

I dunno man, I surprised the ST in a campaign I'm in during a 1 shot by managing to finish it out without rolling a single attack. The Dawn ability to just terrorize something that shouldn't be able to be scared is probably their most useful power.

Hairy, if you'll allow it.  I'd like to take the 2e Great Curse and Trigger of Heart of Flint.  It's the one I've always played, my personal favorite, and I won't have to worry about forgetting about it the way I will if I try to take a new one.  Presumably the duration would change to Session in accordance with the others, but I'll repost the text of the old one for you.

Heart of Flint
The character’s heart hardens to all emotion. He feels and expresses no emotions: not robotic, but lacking all empathy and feeling. The character considers only efficiency in choosing his course of action, and his reduced tact imposes a two-die penalty on all Social rolls involving face-to-face interactions.
Partial Control: The character’s emotions are significantly muted but still present. She suffers a two-die penalty to Social rolls involving face-to-face interaction, and her primary motivation is still efficiency, but she will avoid doing anything to which she has a strong emotional aversion.
Duration: One full day
Limit Break Condition: The character is frustrated by the intemperate or childish nature of the world around him.

Not completely done yet, but that's what I'm looking at.  I still need the last Virtue and Merit.

Man.. looking at Infinite Sky makes me want to give up. I'm impressed you could make it so quickly.  I look at the book and my brain fuses together. Congrats

Even when I know it's a terrible idea, I still can't help using character background as a basis for design. My character is absolutely useless in combat and is going to die so fast.

Don’t give up.  Focus on Charms and Merits first, and that’ll help give your character a skeleton.  Then you can build on that when you have a glimpse or two of what the character will be like.

Let me suggest Greatness-Inspiring Aura and Cat’s Puffed Tail, along with a relevant Excellency, and then you can use those to Inspire to Build Power in others’ attacks.  That would make you very useful in combat.

I am tentatively interested!  I have an Eclipse I haven’t gotten to play in forever who could be fun. She was described by others (IC) as “a diplomat, a bureaucrat, a psychotic wild-eyed howling she-demon of terror, and quite an adept ballroom dancer.”
