Hey guys! So while I loved the first version of this game I created, it ultimatly fell short of my creative vision, mostly due to my own choices. I ended up with a convoluted story, and a difference of vision with my GM's. That being said, I have made the choice to archive the old group and start fresh, if enough people are interested. There will be a few changes, mostly in the way we use threads, and I hope my first time experiance can help me make this second version as great as I think it can be! One major change this time around that many people requested, OC characters ARE allowed! I have to say I made a lot of great friends in the last group, and though it didn't work out, it wasn't a failure, because I learned so much. If I have half as much fun with this group, it will be amazing! I love you all! Thanks for checking this out.

Powers: This is for super powers. Stuff like being faster than a speeding bullet, stronger than a locomotive, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound and so forth.

Special Qualities: For indelible qualities about your character. A Green Lantern's willpower is an example, as is Batman's singular dedication to crime-fighting, or John Constantine being an insufferable wanker.

Special Equipment: Stuff like the Batman's utility belt or Wonder Woman's lasso of truth - a character can be safely assumed to own a conventional smart phone or lap top without much fuss. Alleron

So, definitely interested, but before I start figuring out a character, I did have a few questions:

1. How "canon" will we be?  Do we need to deal with some of the existing broader storylines and universe resets currently going on with DC, or is it a looser "Typical DC" sort of deal?

2. Is anyone from the old game coming back, and if so, are there certain characters off-limits?

3. What power level are you going for?  Justice League 2.0, New Gods B-squad, something more street-level?

Kara Danvers

Hey Alleron, I'm happy to answer as best as I can!

1. We are kind of building our own DC universe, in a way. I will have to think on what our story will be for this one, but I do have some ideas. As far as canon goes, you can be any character, at any point of their history and we will have to reshape people who come in later as needed. Or, you can be a genderbent version, and have your own history etc. It's pretty flexible, as long as you don't change the core of who the character is. If you want to do that, might as well make an OC.

2. Supergirl will be taken by me, otherwise, no one has officially said anything so anyone is open. Though certian people may be too powerful for a group writing situation.

3. I don't have an exact power level. We won't be having any Prime Superman, or Dr. Manhattens, etc. As long as you have a clear power limit, weaknesses, etc, I'm cool with working with someone. Part of it is how well I know a writer as well. A great writer can take any character, no matter how powerful and make them struggle, and a weak writer can make even a weak character act omnipotent.

I hope that helps!

I am tempted to submit for play one of my favorite DC misfits, Tad Ryerstad (aka Nite-Wing, but I am of two minds:

1. I typically like to approach Tad as a formerly violent and misguided anti-hero. In this sense he is a guy who grew up with a head full of pop-culture notions of what heroics were and who leaned into them hard when he started patrolling his neighborhood. He would dive head-long into a situation, accost anyone he thought was a criminal, leave them in a bloody heap and head off thinking he was righteous. That is until he killed an undercover FBI agent and ended up in Blackgate. His reformation would come in jail, with the guidance of an unlikely mentor (spoilers: it was Bane). He is now out of prison, trying to just lead a normal life, but has taken up the heroic mantle again... for story appropriate reasons.

This is a Tad that is capable of hanging in a Batman-appropriate power-leveled story. Or of hanging on through sheer tenacity in a higher-level arc...

...but, I have a higher-powered version in mind that I've never been able to play.

2. I have noodled around from time to time with the idea of Tad being an interesting candidate for a Power Ring. The natural thought would be for a reformed Nite-Wing to end up with a Green Power Ring. His willpower has always been ridiculously strong (like, still sticking to his 'heroic' identity after being shot six times and waking up in a hospital strong), so it makes some manner of sense. But I see the more interesting path being him getting his hands a Red Power Ring. Rage has always been a key factor in his presentation. With his will being strong and his recent discipline, I could see having him struggle with the constant whispers in his ear to kill, maim and destroy as being fun to write.

Notable, Power Ring Tad would not be a member of a Corps. At least, in this story. Either he found (in the case of the Green ring) a ring recently, or he took it off someone he defeated during a team-up.

Thoughts?
