Well, I'm in sort of a fix. My speakers work just fine when playing in Windows Media Player and the like, but it just doesn't want to play any audio on the internet, like youtube or any kind of videos or audio period. I've tried a few things (and yes, my speakrs are plugged in, and they do work, just not in IE or Firefox or any of my other browsers) but so far, no results.

Help?

My husband who's the computer geek, not me, said it sounds like a browser issue. He could be wrong though.

Try running IE 7 with out add ons to see if that works.

Start > All programs > Accessories > System tools > Internet Explore (No add-ons)

Check to see if you get sound through that. If it works reset Internet Explorer back to factory standards.

Tools > Internet Options > Advance Tab > Reset

Hope that helps!

Okay, so when I try to play youtube or myspace music or stuff like that, it keeps saying that I need to download Flash. So I don't think it'll be that.

HairyHeretic

Is it possible the flash plugin has gotten corrupted?

Maybe so. The videos play fine, the audio just doesn't work. And it's not just youtube audio, or audio that uses flash, it's everything.

Should I try uninstalling and re-installing flash?

HairyHeretic

If its more than just the browser affected, then its probably not that I guess.

Have you tried checking the audio settings, seeing if it thinks its all working ok there?

Yes, and everything seems to be working properly. The speakers are installed, and I can play sounds and MP3's on WMP, Winamp, etc.

HairyHeretic

Ah, I think I misunderstood you. I'd say try downloading and installing flash. If it still doesn't work, it at least removes that as a possible problem.

Yup, downloaded flash. Made absolutely no difference.

Yes, it does this with all of my browsers.
