I would like to apologize before a start if I have done something wrong, this is the first roleplay idea I turned into a thread. Feedback on what I have done wrong is appreciated and most welcome, but I digress.

I want to launch a relatively small scale adventure with the theme of dungeons and dragons. This will be freeform to the very core. I was thinking of monster girls hostile environments different towns and most of all I want to have experience in running/managing a roleplay. I was inspired much by Missfire but want to run it in a very open and freeform manner with lots of participant feedback, quest ideas and characters. Now, the world.

The land of the vale is shrouded in mystery and intrigue. Riddled with monsters and hidden treasures. There are five kingdoms at war within the vale, adding to the turmoil. The monsters have adapted to the fierceness of the warriors in the region, hardened and weathered by a life of war and become evil temptresses. Sirens were only the beginning of the angler fish that is the monsters of the vale. Luring men in, murdering them and adding their gold and trinkets to the veritable hoard. Outside of the vale are the many
countries filled with adventurers bristling with adventurous spirit just waiting to sail through the fog and into glory and riches beyond their wildest dreams.

Laughing Hyena

Im in. And I'll take that challenge of being one of your players for sexy time with monsters I shall dominate.... What?

Vaulera

I was hoping you might volunteer LH, you may or may not have been in every roleplay I have ever done. Feel free to make a character. It wouldn't be the same monster roleplay without you!

Laughing Hyena

Name: Aramis Damor
Appearance:
Specialization: Rune Magic - Battlemage - One Handed Swordplay
Items on person: Damacus Steel Longsword, Steel Breastplate, Various Exotic Chalks and Gels.
Bio: Aramis Damor is a fortune and booty hunter and enjoys the life of adventuring because of the kind of excitement that one can find themselves in a place like the Vale. Unlike most he is a touch too kinky to torture but he doesn't care for dying either. Depending on the circumstances he may very well be the one doing the molesting. He has learned how to be a battle mage by initially starting off as a rune magician and graduating into sword play thanks to an accomplished mentor in the mainlands. It took much to get to where he is today and hopes to make good on his skills. His magic doubles as a perversion potential and has more then once used his magic inappropriately.

Vaulera

Do you mean like, Damascus steel? The one with the carbon nano tubes that makes it blackened?

Laughing Hyena

I was talking about the mythical metal version. Honestly I did not know that was a real metal type.

Vaulera

First invented in India, It was a strange and specific accidental creation of carbon nano tubes that greatly reinforced the strength of the metal. Quite real indeed! Just looking around for some pictures for inspiration.

Hoping for acceptance, here is my proposed character.

Name:  Rodney Rigby, Rod for short

Appearance:  6'1". handsome, curly blond hair and blue eyes, cleanshaven.  Broad shoulders and a fairly athletic body.  Square jaw and high cheekbones.  Big hands and big feet, a clue that he's well endowed.

Specialization:  Priest of the Love Goddess;  healer, missionary, specialist in fertility rituals, esp. for agriculture.

Items on person:  A magical harness of leather straps which provides his entire body with protection similar to plate mail.  Leather boots and a leather belt with lots of pouches, one of which contains a magical unrolling wardrobe, containing pockets in which he can keep different sets of clothes and similar items (if put inside soiled, they come out cleaned and pressed);  one of the pockets is reserved for the scriptures of the goddess along with pen, ink, and parchment.  A leather sheath which houses a mithril short sword, particularly effective against lycanthropes and some sorts of undead.

Bio:  Raised in the holy temple, Rod has always wanted to be a holy priest.  He is devoted to his goddess, and is at heart a kind and gentle soul, but he can be fierce as a protector, and can lapse into crusading mode.
The goddess has heard of what is going on in the Vale.  Rod has been sent here for three purposes.
First, he is to spread the word of the goddess in this land where she is only slightly well-known.  In time, it is hoped that Rod will establish a temple here, but that is in the distant future.
Second, he is to seek for the diary of another priest, a man who came to the Vale a generation ago and disappeared.  The goddess knows that he kept his diary faithfully.  If Rod can find word of him, the goddess would like him to find the diary, and generally discover what became of her beloved priest.
Third, it could be that some of the monsters can be redeemed.  When this pertains, Rod is to see if they can be rescued from a life of evil and turned to the cause of goodness and light.  Rod is dubious that this is ever going to happen, but his goddess seems to be sure that it can indeed take place.
I prefer justice to irony.

This looks interesting. Proposed character

Name: Darvis Mollaird

Appearance: 5'8". Salt and pepper hair and beard.

Specialization: Long range combat with bow. Hunter and gatherer. Ranger.

Items: Hickory and bone bow. Quiver that replenishes arrows after use without them getting lost/broken. Leather armor. A dagger or two scattered on his belt or body.

Bio: After his wife died in childbirth, he went to wandering, leaving behind their small cottage. Rumors of strange things happening in the Vale have drawn him to it, wanting to see if there are more intelligent things to hunt then animals or other prey. He doesn't have much to live for any more after burying his wife and child, so now he sells his services to those who can pay, or to even those who can't pay if he feels they truly need his help. Mostly though he only wants to test his skills as a hunter/ranger against something that isn't so easy to kill or track.

Vaulera

The first three accepted, i'm thinking two, three more max. I think I would be playing the monster's roles if that is acceptable to you bunch. Do you want it to be a darker setting or a more lighthearted fantasy setting.

I must say, I love the creativity that you guys displayed with the  bios. Since you guys are first of the draw, I have a few ideas for a first "quest".

You arrive upon the shore and a woman has fled her village after a Vampire attack.

You trek your way to the jungle after a temple priest has had trouble with a Band of lizardfolk.

or

In a major city of the plains folk in the centre of the mainland, You discover a tavern is a front for a crime syndicate of lycanthropes.

Take your pick, they may end up happening later depending upon the progression.

Kuje

I personally don't care either way if it's more darker or lighter. I'm good with either really.

Ooo, those three quests are interesting already. If I had to pick though, I like the lycan tavern as my fav, with the vampire as second, and then lizard folk but I'm open to whatever the consensus is. :)

tcost

The lizardfolk idea appeals most to me.  Starting with vampires tends to make the lower-level undead bland in comparison so I would suggest something like zombies earlier on.  The tavern with the lycanthropic criminals would be okay too.

Maybe we could hear about the vampire and be brought to take the fight to her at some length.
I prefer justice to irony.

Vaulera

I was going along the lines of a few vampires with thralls and undead surrounding it. This is very D&D inspired yet very not. Most of the monsters will be female if that clarifies anything.

So far we have these three specs:

Spellblade (magic/phys)

Ranger/hunter (ranged/phys)

Healer (Magic/support)

We have 2 vote Lizardfolk 1 vote Lycan

Wheresmycow

I'm interested in joining, but I would like to know the overall direction the RP is heading towards.  Are the characters just going in there to kill things and loot their stuff?  Is there going to be dominating the various monsters since they are female and the party is full of guys so far?  Are the characters in danger of being kidnapped and forcibly made to submit?

I ask because since you do want to have experience running or game mastering a RP, it can be hard enough handling all the little things players do that can throw you off track, let alone the potential curve balls that can come on an adult forum.  Free form is great, driving the GM into a wall isn't.

Vaulera

Well this is where I asked for player input. I was expecting some capturing the monsters non-con sometimes monsters capturing the people, but I don't particularly like the idea of an only killing or looting roleplay. It all boils down to what the players want, I just plan on reacting accordingly based on a flow of movement through the five kingdoms to some areas I have down. I know and trust most of the players enough to expect a general sense of what to do as well.

Kuje

Hmmm. I tend to like a mix of hack and slash and RP. Hmm, beyond that I'm really open to anything...... Having some plots to follow up on though tends to help me better instead of not having any plots.

Vaulera

I think that a mix is good because it keeps at least some sense of realism in terms of, why would we capture and have sex with EVERY monster on the island rather than kill some and save the ones that are left. I intend to have a plot indeed, but at the moment I am not sure what sort of overarching plot will happen. Be reassured that I have many a quest about individual types of monsters and the eventual friendship of the group.

Cyrus

Appearance:
Specialization: Rogue, Stealth, Thievery, Infiltrations
Items on person: Poisoned dagger, 2 light short swords across his back with serrated edges, lock picking tools, bag of misc jewels and coils he's pilfered, a small amount of food supplies, flint and tender, a vial of potent poison, and a coil of rope.

Bio: Cyrus grew up on the streets wandering from village to village stealing what he could, and begging where he couldn't, he never knew a father or mother, there was never anyone there for him. As he grew older, he started honing his skills, some would say he was talented, but he knew it was honed skill, when you were caught it gave you a great incentive to get better faster. As he became better and better at what he did his 'talent' drew eyes, before he knew it people were seeking him out, not the average person of course, but shady people from the criminal underworld. He'd taken many of the jobs at knife point, he'd even been hired for more than one assassination. He couldn't complain really, the pay was always good enough to cover the initial discomfort at having a knife held to your throat. This time however, his situation was a bit different. He had been payed, in advance, to mingle with this strange group that was gathering. He didn't ask question, he just did, and that's how he found himself in this peculiar company of fellows.

Accepted the rogue, I think one more character is needed. We don't have a tank/two handed weapon person yet.

That works for me indeed. Yea, it'll be tiring to have sex with every creature.

Wheresmycow

Damn, was making a rogue but I guess I took too long.  I will make a two-hander person.

#22
Name: Thomas Day

Appearance: Surprising, Thomas isn't as big and bulky as people would expect given what he is capable of.  Standing at an even six feet, Thomas has an average shoulder width, with a lean athletic build.  His brown hair is cropped short, almost like a buzz cut, and he keeps himself clean shaven.  His face is more angular than blocky, and his features tend towards being smoother.  Though not particularly handsome or attractive in the classic sense, his brown eyes are particularly piercing and intense in their gaze, and he exudes strength and confidence no matter his stance or the situation.

Specialization: Blunt weapon mastery, incredible strength and toughness, reinforcement type magic

Items on person: Tetsubo (ordinarily a two-handed weapon, Thomas wields it with one), plate armor, rations, bedroll, backpack

Bio: Thomas is a former heavy infantryman.  He was attached to a Duke's shock trooper unit, but when the unit went under strength, the entire group was disbanded and Thomas was left without work.  Rather than become a mercenary, he settled for performing guard duties in various cities, and had also been hired onto various caravan runs.  While legal and consistent, it was work he quickly grew bored off.  Doing patrols and keeping watch was more boring than he had expected, and bandits didn't break up the monotony of overland travel as frequently as he would have expected.  More and more, the life of an adventurer appealed to him, and given his abilities, he would likely do well.  Eventually, he left the cities, assembled and repaired his old gear, and set off towards the Vale.

Sorry about the rogue thing, I suggested that to vongola. As long as it fits the three s's of rogues it is accepted.

Wheresmycow

No worries.  I should have piped up if I really wanted it.  My tank/two-hander guy works just as well for me.
