Rosalyn Jones and her parents have not led the most glamorous life in New York, but it’s definitely been a very happy one filled with laughter and love. Until a tragic car accident changed everything and turned poor Rosalyn’s whole life upside down…

Only just recently graduated from high school and only working a part time job at the local super market, it takes all of her savings combined with what she’d tried saving for college to pay for her parents funerals… her heart heavy with grief and her bank account drained, it looks especially bleak for Rosalyn…

Until a letter arrived that leaves Rosalyn feeling conflicted…

It is from her estranged grandparents in England, her mother’s parents… as she understood it, her mother’s parents were wealthy elite among British society and they didn’t approve of their daughter intending to marry the love of her life, some middle class American studying abroad on scholarship… they threatened to cut her mother off if she attempted to marry her beloved American…

So as the story went, her parents gave a good ole ‘fuck it’ and eloped, then after Rosalyn’s father finished his semester in England, the two of them fled to America, out of reach from the Brighton family…

They’d never once heard from them, until now with this letter… the letter described how they’d heard about the tragic demise of their daughter and her husband and that they wanted Rosalyn to move to England and live with them, they wanted to know their granddaughter before they died and write her into the will to leave her everything.

Rosalyn feels reluctant, considering how they treated her parents… but what choice does she have? Her job would never pay rent for her house, let alone an apartment and she had no money for college… perhaps this would provide her a future and… some part of her knew her mother would want her to get to know her grandparents…

So… she goes…

My idea for adding romance into the mix here is that her grandparents are going to very aggressively push her into a match with the grandson of one of their wealthy elite friends… which would be your character :)
