start at the end

Has anyone attempted to start a story at it's end... and then develop something that works toward that end. A challenge maybe, especially if the final scene is detailed in character and plot.

Just throwing it out for consideration.

Not familiar with it... I was thinking it as a method to develop an interesting challenge. To write a scene and then step in time and move the characters toward that conclusion. The journey being the fun.
