This is going to be a one shot story arc with the option to continue after the arc is completed.

Once I have two players I will begin.  Once I have four players, I will close the RP.

backgroundThe quiet hillside town of Fourway, named for its crossroads, is a farm town.  Nearby are forests and foothills that eventually give way to mountains. The livestock and various crops grown in the fertile and somewhat rocky soil fuel the town’s economy.  Most notably is the herb Sage’s weed, consumed mostly by wizards, but also has widespread recreational use.  During the harvest season merchants make their pilgrimage to town to stock up.  The town boasts an inn with its very own brewery, a basic blacksmith shop, a tailor, and general store which is also a bakery.

Starting levelsThe characters will start out inexperienced, starting level depending on the age of the character.

Age:
15-16 lvl 1
17-19 lvl 2
20+ lvl 3

Starting level is 1-3 depending on your character's age.  Nothing crazy yet, no psionics or rare races please.  I am inexperienced as a DM and am still learning the ropes.

Use this site to record your character and post the link here, (please remember to keep the sheet public so I can view it):
http://www.myth-weavers.com/forumhome.php

Use any method in the handbook to generate stats.

Feel free to start with any reasonable equipment befitting small town life.  All your starting gold goes into your pocket, no need to spend it on starting equipment.  If your character has a job in the town, I will award bonus non-weapon proficiencies that go along with that job.

Setting:The story will begin on the eve of the Harvest festival.  The characters will be friends or at least acquainted with each other.  If playing a dwarf or elf race, then your character will be from a nearby settlement, dwarves from a mining outpost in the mountains, elves, from the forest… etc...

May I use the forgoten realms books FAiths and Avtars or Powers and Pantheons?

If so, I'll provide a priest.  If not, with these stats...  Wow, I could do a paladin.  ^_^;;

PM sent.

One more player and we can begin.  If anyone else decides to sign on after we start, the characters can be added to the adventure easily.

Not totally done, but enough to give you a solid idea.

If we're not plunging straight into the action, perhaps I'll be performing a familiar summoning ritual in story this festival?

Starting with the familiar ritual is fine.  Character approved.

The action should start fairly fast though.

I'll assign some bonus proficiencies based on your character after I make some notes.

Muse

I think my gal's actualy done this time.  :)

One more player and we can start.

If no one wants to play by wednesday, then I'll roll for a character.  I have an itch to play a summoner mage.

The game will start tomorrow, I'll be playing the bard I created for the other game.  He's lvl 1, but will be taking a secondary role until we can find more players.  This first scenerio will be a mini-mission run to acquaint myself with your playing styles and the rules.

Muse is encouraging me to play in your game. XD I'm not very familiar with 2ed anymore, but I'll get him to help me.

We're happy to have you, I'm learning 2nd edition, this little story arc is my learning curve so to speak.  If you have any questions I'll be happy to help.

Helenia

I’ll put down my interest towards this RP.

Ive never played a system game so i have no D&D experience, if that’s a problem say and i’ll bow out. Any links you can provide to help me with information i can look into.

No problems at all, I'm a newbie myself.

I'll send you a PM with some information.

Sorry for the delay in posting.  Christmas is now over and things are back to normal.

@ Anael - Character approved.  Orcs and goblins will be fine for a natural enemy.  They would be common in the nearby mountains and have been known to venture close to town. Since your character is a farmer by profession, you may add any farming related proficiencies to your sheet.

@ OldSchoolGamer, you are welcome to post a character.

There is still two more spots open, first to post sheets claim the spots.

@ EVERYONE - time to make your first roll.  Please roll a 20 sided dice and post results on the thread below

@ OldSchoolGamer, you are welcome to post a character.

Thank you kindly.  I notice we have no priest.  Any interest in me rectifying that?  I'm thinking goddess of wisdom or healing...

Muse has a silvermaid which is a priestess kit, but if priest is the class you want, then by all means feel free to do so.

I could go with a priestess, a bard, or an archer.

Anything you want is perfectly okay.

I try build the story around the characters.  I am already thinking up story ideas if I have a majority of priestess characters, and the extra healing will let me throw bigger badguys at the party  >:)

The game has a priestess and a ranger so far.  I'm playing a NPC bard, but now that the party is filling up, I won't need to use him  ;D

Okay, I'll keep her as-is.  She's going to be a specialty priestess of Airmed.  So as her powers, I propose:

1st level:
+1 per die roll for healing magic.  So a Cure Light Wounds would cure d8+1 damage rather than d8, a Cure Serious Wounds 2d8+2 rather than 2d8, and so on.
+1 on saving throws versus death

3rd level:
Once per day, the ability to lay on hands and cure 1hp damage per level over 2.

4th level:
+1 to hit versus undead.  Weapons used by the priest(ess) are considered to be ensorcelled at +1 for the purposes of determining whether or not the weapon affects undead.  +1 to die rolls to turn/destroy undead.

7th level:
The priest gains the ability to heal any being of up to six times his/her level in hit points, at a touch.  However, this costs the priest(ess) 3 Constitution and 2 Strength points.  The points may be regained by five days of rest (no combat or spell-casting or travel other than in a coach/carriage or ship).  The ability may be used as often as the priest(ess) wishes.  However, at the time the ability is used, a Constitution check is rolled, and if the check is failed, the ability use is still successful, but thepriest(ess) falls unconscious for d4 days.  Note that these days of unconsciousness DO count toward the 5 required to regain the lost points.

I like it, PM sent to iron out some detail

Kaizen

Nope, not too late. Character approved.

I've designed this story arc to be able to include anyone that is late.  But you're just in time for the action, which is about to start.

Just have your character somewhere at the festival.

(Just a side note here:  all characters don't have to be friends, but they will at least be acquainted or know of each other since they are all from the same area)
