Phyrfaerie

My idea is simple. I wish to form an authentic old world of darkness Sabbat pack. I dont mean the watered down versions that we have all been forced to play on other sites due to the easily squeamish. Im talking about the fanatical and fervent blood seeking vampires that we all know are the soul of the Sabbat. Are there any players that would be willing to breathe unlife into a pack with me? Feel free to post under me, or send me a PM. Hope to hear from you all soon.

~edit~
Now that we have the interest, the time has come for the process of choosing what you will play. We have room for one, maybe two more people to start with.

Players:

Phyrfaerie - Gangrel Anti (Hunter)/True
Job - LaSombra (Keeper) /True
Xanatos- Toreadore Anti (Pervert)/ True
Acid Lips - Recruit (yet to be determined)
BenedictWolfe - (yet to be determined)
Winterborn - Pander (Mutt)/ True
Rishon Tam - LaSombra (Keeper)/True
Blitzy - LaSombra (Keeper)/ True
Imogen - Malkavian Anti ( Creep)/ True
Nykteus - Tzimisce (Fiend)/True
Hellion - Nosferatu (Leatherface) /True

Editted to add: https://elliquiy.com/forums/index.php?topic=102729.0 <<< this is the link to the OOC chat room regarding this RP thread.

Job

I have some interest as this was my favorite Sect in OWoD Vampire.  Where are you going to base the pack?
Cardinal Rules of Gaming:
1. Don't be a Dick.
2. Don't be a Pussy.

Phyrfaerie

I will be going with something  New York-esque in nature, as it fits with its grime, grittiness, the various boroughs and the nature of the never sleeping city. If there is another city that suits more, Im all ears.

Acid Lips

Winterborn

Am I to assume that this will be a System game? I may or may not still have my oWoD books. Lemme dig around.

But if it's freeform, count me in now.

BenedictWolfe

#5
I might be interested.

What era are we playing in and how old are our vampires?

Phyrfaerie

The era is modern, just not as modern as nWoD. :D This will be a free form role play, versus a roll play. I will be using the knowledge from the Sabbat books that we have in the house and on PDF, and working loosely with that. I dont want stats rolled, I want personalities that show what the Sabbat can be. Will dice be used? If you feel they must, but this is a roleplaying site, IMO, not a roll playing site. Id much prefer the roleplay to knock the pants off the roll play. *grins*

To that end, these are a few of the guidelines that needs to be laid down: The Sabbat are known for taking all walks of life from the shovelheaded badass who slays the Tower Cowards in a dusk raid, to the fourth generation man, groomed to be a Lasombra since his father's birth. You know you are a monster, hell, you rejoice in it. You will all have the option to be True in the Sabbat, having already passed your test of trials as recruits and having already earned your Voice in the Sabbat. Or, you could start as a recruit to an NPC.  So, when you are writing up your personalities, keep that in mind. What is it that you are bringing to the table? What about you is eye catching? Also, being that variety is the spice of life, I would really like to see some of the younger neonates come out to play. Having an older vampire is fine ( no more then 50 years as a vampire, please. Anything older is higher up in the food chain then this RP will be allowing) but this is more about learning the ropes as a Pack and what that can mean..

A note about clans: Not all clans are open for this RP.  Baali, Giovanni and Tremere are not allowed, for obvious reasons. Try and keep the clans mainstream please. All disciplines will be the traditional ones, so please dont come to me asking for an exception.

Job

I'll work on a punk ass LaSombra with a focus in abyss mysticism and obtenebration.  Typical "student of the abyss" archetype with personality.
Cardinal Rules of Gaming:
1. Don't be a Dick.
2. Don't be a Pussy.

Xanatos

I am going Toreador, because they are so deliciously fun to play. Will have info up tomorrow, hopefully (assuming school work is completed before I go to work).

Acid Lips

I may want to play a freshly turned vampire, is that alright?

Winterborn

Sweet, Freeform, I was hoping you'd say that. Really love the oWoD setting by itself, and rollplay ain't really my thing.

I could definitely pull off a Pander. Yes, I know that makes me that pack Bitch, but what can I say? I dig the underdog. I'd also be willing to play a Recruit if we get True heavy, or vice versa. In terms of abilities, as they apply to RP, I figured on the default Fortitude, Potence, Presence mix. Or maybe celerity instead of Presence. I prefer the physical traits to 'magic', at least most of the time, so I'll just fill any gaps others leave.

If I get accepted. Please?

Xanatos

Sorry mine is so long, I am using a character from my last Sabbat game that I loved. The game died quickly, so I was never able to use her much.

Creation Ceremony
Spoiler: Click to Show/Hide

Amber was brought into a room with many small wheeled tables which had their contents hidden underneath a cloth, for each one, wrapped over the top. In the center of the room was a table with restraints. It could be made to rotate from a “laying” position to a “standing” position and anywhere in between.
Suddenly she was grappled from behind by two men. They held her tight as she struggled frantically questioning her master.
“Derek, what is going on?” Amber felt so weak in their grasp, for many moments wondering what had happened to her enhanced strength. It dawned upon her that the men were also vampires and likely much older; it wouldn't matter how much she struggled.
Derek walked up to Amber and slashed away her clothing with a razor, leaving behind a few thin cuts across her stomach, and thighs. Amber tried not to whimper, but the fear was overtaking her mind. Derek shook his finger at her, then pressed it against her lips.
“Be a good girl for me. Be strong.”
He had her strapped onto the table, then finally told her her fate. She would have to endure untold pain and suffering through torture and utter debasement through sexual violation. It would last an entire night without cease.
“You can't be serious!” she cried out. Almost as angry as she was afraid.
“Why so surprised? Its not like I haven't seen you naked, haven't touched you intimately. Just relax and imagine I am holding you, deep within you.”
He was right, this wasn't all that different. It diminished some of her fear, but not enough to lay all of her trust before him. He was different, something about him seemed more evil, sadistic. She loved him, but this was taking it too far. Amber tried to reason with him, but he would not change his mind, telling her this was what had to happen and that it would make her stronger and a better vampire.
Her sire knew she was strong willed and thus had chosen two ways which would either break her will, proving her worthless or would make her stronger and more valuable to the Sabbat.
It was up to this point in her life, the most vile and horrific treatment she had endured. Amber nearly broke many times, but held strong not letting her mind break. She screamed, trembled, but never begged, nor cried.

Name: Amber Grath
Clan: Toreador
Age: Appears 23; Actual 40 (17 years as vampire)

Appearance
Spoiler: Click to Show/Hide

Amber is a striking beauty having a svelte yet rather voluptuous body. She is a graceful creature moving without thought in a naturally airy motion which captivates many. Her stark, strong, deep blue eyes pierce into ones very being when she looks straight into their eyes. She wears her medium long velvet dark brown hair usually in braids or in a long pony tail, leaving her bangs free to hang over her forehead; she does wear it loose often, however. Her slightly dark skin shows her Mediterranean heritage.

Amber dresses in most of the modern fashions, preferring to fit into the popular places as it makes feeding easier and finding potential herd members easier as well.

Personality
Spoiler: Click to Show/Hide

Amber is a strong willed woman with a sharp yet calm personality. Using others is not above Amber but she choses very carefully who she decides to manipulate not wanting any backlash from it. She can be demanding at times but generally is accepting and laid back in concerns to many things, so long as she feels she can get something out of it or at the very least is okay with its perceived outcome.

She likes being around others but is not averse to being alone or with a select few. Often times she only has her two ghouls to keep her company, and finds pleasure in manipulating them in various ways.

Amber is very promiscuous and proud of it. Its partially a game of control, but only to a small extent. She knows her immortality gives her an edge over Kine but otherwise she isn't overly big on using it, unless she really wants a particular Kine; she is weary of sleeping with other Kindred as she knows they may attempt to use her in the process.

Money is something she values, but for different reasons than most. She values it only for how it can advance her goals, and does not value it because of greed.

True to her Sabbat nature, though, Amber is increasingly sadistic and slightly masochistic thanks to Derek. Most of her herd are masochistic in one form or another. They are her toys first and foremost and are not as valuable as her ghouls, whom she treats very well (with her being a sadistic vampire and all other things taken into consideration). Unlike many vampires who see lesser beings as practically worthless, Amber protects her possessions (to a degree). They are hers, so why should she let them get hurt?

Biography
Spoiler: Click to Show/Hide

Amber had planned to become a translator; she would go to France and Germany translating for business meetings, art deals, and so forth. She had good computer skills which would also serve her well. However she had a side none knew about, she had a taste for the seedier side of things. Amber loved going to rave clubs even ones which had an excess of alcohol and drugs. She never took drugs, sometimes drinking some alcohol; it was the atmosphere which drew her. She had been raised under strict house rules not allowed to do many things, trained to be a skilled linguist by her parents. She found language to be fascinating, as well as computers, but felt stifled under their stern rule.
So as was normal for all young people, she rebelled, although did so in secret. Amber would sneak out finding the rave clubs and would enjoy herself thoroughly; then sneak back home. Her parents were none the wiser to her hidden lifestyle.
One night while she danced she was noticed by her future sire, Derek Trist. He watched her for countless nights patiently waiting. He followed her home many nights as well. He took note of her willfulness and how she so easily blended in with the scene yet abstained from the blatant abuse of drugs and alcohol. Derek wanted her, and wished to see if he could break her.
He began gently hitting on her slowly but surely, night after night. Amber slowly became more agreeable and accepting, even coming to the point where she would look for him when she first entered. He always sat in the same corner to make himself easy to find.
To Derek's excitement, it was revealed that she had no love for her parents any longer, at least she believed so at the moment of her words. Later that night, her words prompted him to murder her parents. Amber, when she discovered them, was so distraught she blindly went to the only place which had been like a second home, the club.
Derek comforted her, telling her it would be all right. He watched her, hoping she would pass her first test, as he had a much greater trial for her should she make it that far. After a few days she came to terms with it, on the outside, but on the inside she still struggled with their deaths. Though her  will was coming through for her.
The next tests he had were to further guage her by constantly putting her in situations with drugs and alcohol beyond what the rave club offered. She did not partake of any of it, save very light amounts of alcohol. He was pleased by her strength of will. It would serve her well as a vampire.
After three months, in which time Amber had received her parents will and all that was given to her, she sold the house and put aside all the money she had, which was considerable. She began investing and saving heavily to expand upon the wealth. Their relationship also went a step further as the two began having sex; Derek used it to cement her enthrallment. Derek also began realizing a new aspect, she was a valuable monetary resource. Even the Sabbat could use money. His decision cemented, he embraced her as they made love one night.
Several weeks later he forced her into her Creation Right of passage, inflicting upon her some of the worst things he could imagine. Her cries, her tears, her bloodied form was like the most beautiful art to him. When she had passed, he was over joyed. She had become a Vampire. Amber holds no grudge against him, realizing what he had done, and that he had to do it as part of Sabbat ritual law. It brought them both closer together, deepening the twisted love Derek had created.
Several months later she received news he had been killed, along with most of her pack. The two had held a twisted love for one another, and she was hurt but went on living. She eventually found a new pack to join hoping they would be as good as her old one.

Rishon Tam

I'd love to throw in, if possible.

I expect I'd play a Lasombra of a somewhat less mystically-inclined variety. Something along the lines of an action-oriented powermonger.
I feel like having two Lasombra rounds out a strong pack, especially if we want to delve into Sabbat ideology.

If that doesn't work, though -- assuming there's a place for me -- there are definitely a few other things I'd be interested in playing.

Blitzy

One on One stories on hold currently. Apologies to my writing partners.

Phyrfaerie

Alright, so I got three other True with two Recruits.  I say two because a freshly turned vampire is what the Sabbat refer to as a Recruit, someone who hasnt earned their place, or Voice, in the Sabbat hierarchy. I love the idea of a freshly turned vampire, so Im now going to call for someone who will take her as their Childer.. any takers? I will need an experienced player who knows how to handle a recruit correctly..  please. Also, I will need to know everyone's personal predilections regarding non-con, as a vast majority of what goes on in the Sabbat is in the middle of the horror genre.. and I plan to be faithful to that.

Also: Just a heads up folks, while I may be on sporadically, this weekend is devoted to grocery shopping for another month for my family. It takes us an hour to drive into town and an hour to drive back, so most of the day will be spent buying supplies for the next month. Never fear, I will be writing up introductions and the opening posts by Sunday at the latest. See you all soon!

Winterborn

Am I one of those True, or a Recruit? I know I said either, just wanting to be clear.

I'm cool with Non-Con, and I'm with you that it fits the setting.

Xanatos

You referring to Acid Lips, Phyr? I could be willing to mentor her vamp. Although, unless my character is strictly a mentor and not the sire, she would have to be Toreador. Are there any special rules I should know about? I am not wholly familiar with every aspect of the Sabbat. If there are rules, just point me to the page and I can easily read it up.

As for non-con, no problems here. All for the bad stuff.

Well, thats up to Acid. ( I dont mean to speak like you arent here, AL, forgive me. :) ) As a newly formed pack, we will need two True to step up as Ductus and Priest/ess. The Ductus is the "head" of the pack, the one that delineates who does what and when, while the Priest/ess is the "soul" of the pack, guiding those along the given Path that the Priest/ess walks. So, Acid my dear, you have the choice of having an in character Sire, and have your clan chosen for you ( Torrie Anti aka Perverts) or you can choose to be another clan, and have the Ductus step in and claim you as pack property. Please understand, either way your character will be considered pack property, however, due to the nature of the Toreador clan predilections, you will have a barrier, of sorts, in an IC Sire.

Winterborn, you can choose to be either True or Recruit, as the numbers flex one way or the other.

To those who want to play, but have not spoken up yet, there are roughly two more True "spots" to be filled, however, anyone who wants to join the RP as a Recruit is free to do so.

Job

I think it should be noted that the Sabbat have a dim view on recruits.  They're often used as just fodder.  Some Clans foster a recruit as a protege childer, namely Lasombra and Ventrue.  This means if you agree to be a recruit you will most likely get a lot of shit, and if you step out of line there is a good chance for character death.  Depending on the Cainite you've disrespected.  We should not go out of our ways to headhunt, but most Sabbat are neonates and volatile in their vampiric natures - whether from frenzy or cold blooded murder.

This doesn't mean you have to be a slave, or mindless servant to the pack.  Many value spunk and spirit, but there is taking it too far, and the variety of personalities within the Sect should make you very social wary of what you can get away with.
Cardinal Rules of Gaming:
1. Don't be a Dick.
2. Don't be a Pussy.

Blitzy

I'll steal a True spot. And I'd be willing to be Priestess, if no one else wants the job. :)

I'm still not sure on Clan, though. Also, would anyone have a problem if there was a PC ghoul brought in?

Rishon Tam

If the Lasombra clanbook is to be believed, potential embraces are very carefully chosen as protege childer, but then subjected to a few rounds of trials that kill the majority, leaving only the strongest and most capable. If the Lasombra clanbook is to be believed, that is. White Wolf has a habit of contradicting itself across sources... and sometimes within a source.

Anyway, I'd like to go True. Also, depending on how the pack rounds out, I'd be up for being the pack Ductus.

Job

Due to my characters bookwormish proclivities he would be ill suited for a leadership role at the moment.  I'll be happy to just be a True member of the pack and lend his skills to their needs as long as he's left relatively alone for his studies.

Xanatos

I'm going to look into the Ductus spot, but would a 17 year old vamp even be allowed to be Ductus? Seems too young to me.

With the conversion to free form, can I assume that having ghouls is still okay? My character has two. One she uses more for sex, the other is the more bodyguard type.

To clarify, this is not a lone wolf concept.  Study would most likely be a downtime activity, or personal RP with another (i.e. prospective childer, other Lasombra that has earned his trust and wishes to learn the secrets of the Abyss, etc).

Well I just read up on the Ductus, I would be willing to give the lead role a try. It did make mention that all it takes to have the role is the ability to lead, and Toreador (if only through Charisma) are one of the best clans to lead; age was not an issue.

Blitzy

I am currently in a pool hall and don't have my computer, so pardon the weird post sizes and such. I was joking about the Kiasyd, but I will most likely prefer to be a Lasombra though if there is fear of being too many Sombra in the pack, I can push towards being a Brujah or Tzimisce if that's a desire. Let me know. :)

Another question is what limits are you making for disciplines? Or can we just kinda mess around so long as there aren't any crazy things? And what about Vinc ratings? Roll them once we get a character list? Are you rolling for us?

While its a sentiment near and dear to my heart, its not always the case. Should the Bishop require a war pack, your Perv is going to be hard pressed to handle it, where a Brute or a Crusader would sail along.. I will say that no role is set, at least not until the opening posts are up. :) Ill be making those in the next day or so, please, be a little patient with me.

Blitzy, my sweet, we are a Sabbat Pack, LaSombra are to be expected and rather abundant, as vampires go. Regarding disciplines, the traditional ones that come with the clan are what I expect. My gangrel will not have obtenebration, no matter how cool that will be, ya know? Pander have the choice of the 8 common disciplines. Vinic is going to be determined during the roleplay. Using the Sabbat philosophy, with a freeform platform, means that we all -want- to like each other, we all -believe- in the cause, and then we go with the blood bond. If you need a number, go at it with the mindset of 5.

Blitzy

Actually, I love the idea of NOT having numbers. I just wanted to know if you wanted that or not. I love the idea that I could actually play up the shadows and such without people bitching cuz it doesn't match a number I have. The feel of being Sabbat has been horrible in the chats I have played in and I know you and Job have had similar experiences sooo... yeah. >_>

Xanatos

Sorry, didn't mean to seem to be pushing for any position. I am fully fine with not being lead and what not. No worries (will be patient). I also understand your point, though, Toreador are not the greatest fighters (they can be good in a fight though, alongside Gangrel and the like, thanks to Presence).

Either way, look forward to this.

There was an earlier post of mine regarding role versus roll play. To clarify : roleplay = posting an action that you want your character to do; roll play = posting a number and attempting to correlate your idea of an action with it. I want this RP to be of the former variety, not the latter.

Job

We could settle the positions IC as well.  i.e. we have been ordered by the local Bishop to form a pack.  Those vying for a position can settle it with non-lethal Monomancy, etc.  If that is, of course, okay with Phyr.

This way everyone that has an interest has a fair chance of being represented.

I'd be interested in a Malkavian anti. Prefererence is heavily towards a full member. Normal set of disciplines. Power along the lines of one dot in age. Fun derangement to be discussed with ST :-)

Oh. I know the difference, but even with knowing that I just wasn't sure if you had any intention of making us do char sheets of any sort, or if it was all going to be freeform. :) Again, just trying to snag the rules. Far too used to the chats having so many rules instead of having very few! It's fantabulous. >_> I'll post up a character idea or something in a little bit. :D

Rishon Tam

If we're forming the pack in play, we'll probably end up with a Ductus and Priest/ess as a matter of course.

Also: the fluff has it that the Sabbat doesn't use many ghouls and holds the few they keep in extremely low regard, even compared to most vampires. Is that going to be the case here, or are we changing things? I ask because, since it looks like we might be having some ghouls around, I want to make sure that I'm prepared to respond appropriately.

Phyrfaerie

Assuming we are trying for believable ( yes, I mean a believable vampire. Yes, they dont -really- exist. Yes, Im aware that its an oxymoron. ) characters in the setting, NPC's are going to be used in passing. Should a player -wish- to play a PC that is a ghoul, knowing the role they are taking, its on them. I just dont want there to be any miscommunication regarding this. Recruits are the low man on a totem pole. So ghouls, who are less then recruits, are used and abused. Im talking debasement, possible disfigurement and maiming, lots of non con, with the ghoul being adoring of the monsters destroying them. If that is the type of writing that someone wants, Im not going to stop them. :)

Please refer to the post on the first page for personal bio's as a sheet. I need the name, age both apparent and real, clan and a summary of their personality.

Blitzy

'Havoc' Sinclair. Goes by Havoc or Sin.
25 years / 48 years.
Lasombra
Havoc's personality fluctuates in very dramatic ways. Often times she is very serious, very studious, and very focused upon the task at hand.
Typically this means she is very unemotional, quiet, and passive. Other times she is very animated, usually with a wicked grin and a sardonic sense of humor.
She is Sabbat, after all, so she does have a very twisted sense of right and wrong and nobility, which is the Keeper in her.
It is easy to tell which aspect of her personality is at the forefront simply based on her eyes.
If they are empty and cold, it is best to not agitate her unless you know how to break her out of that.

Xanatos

Are you okay with a player controlling a Vamp + a ghoul or two? I asked the question prior to this, but you must have missed it. Since having a ghoul is acceptable via rules, I wasn't going to ask, but I thought it best to make mention of it before the game started because Amber has two ghouls and a herd. She is a typical Toreador, surrounding herself with those she can abuse and safely feed on, using unbound mortals as her true fodder or as the case may be, works of art.

To clarify, my ghouls will in no way be dominant characters, I use ghouls as basically just another feature of the character. They bring out another facet of how the character behaves. Think of it like another aspect of the personality, except shown through (more or less) other characters.

Rishon Tam

Lawrence Keane
(goes by his last name)
27 years / 28 years
Lasombra
Keane has come far in the year since he was embraced. Though lacking in experience, his sharp wit and adaptability have seen him through several situations that could (and did) see other, older vampires to their final deaths. This is coupled with a spectacular capacity for learning, as demonstrated by a far greater command of his clan's Disciplines than could be at all reasonably expected of such a young childe.
Though his manner is usually relaxed, a removed evaluation of his nightly affairs quickly reveals a rapidly changing lifestyle, conveying a restless eagerness to actively experience his new life. He has, for instance, already begun the process of disconnecting himself from the humane values of his former life in the pursuit of a transition to his clan's Path, and though he has not completed the shift, his progress has been nothing short of remarkable.
His enthusiasm and ambition, together with his raw potential, stand to take take him far -- if he can survive the great danger that such qualities inevitably bring.

Nykteus

Владимир Михаил Николай Константин
[Vladimir Mikhail Nikolay Konstantin]

Tzimisce

Apparent Age: Mutable
Actual Age: 120 (74 [Life], 46 [Unlife])

Appearance: Vladimir is a child of the Metamorphosis, viewing flesh in its static state as a cardinal sin. His, and sometimes her, appearance changes from night to night, even from hour to hour as the mood strikes. He no longer remembers how he looked in his living youth, and so he simply composes his new visages based on whims and faint remembrances of other faces.

Personality: Embraced in his mid-seventies, Vladimir was rewarded with immortality for a lifetime devoted to scholarly pursuits. His curiosity and precision gave him a naturally scientific outlook, and so he reached the twilight of his years proud of a life spent in acquiring knowledge, disdaining the company of his fellow man, unable to tolerate such dull, bovine creatures who did nothing but amble through the mortal coil in a shortsighted search for gratification. In retrospect, he realises that he was always destined to be a Fiend, and he approaches his work with a religious fervour that can make unnerve even some of his fellow Tzimisce.

In life he was a frail man, and the burden of years made his every day a torment but for his studies, but these very failings were a boon to him after his Embrace. While a younger childe might have clung to their humanity and their self image, he was only too happy to discard his decrepit flesh for a more suitable form. He has something of a passion for remaking himself, and others, and can quietly while away entire months simply studying the various ways that flesh and bone can be twisted and shaped for his amusement, although he is scrupulous in recording data.

He has his foibles, despite the glittering insight and intellect that have brought respect from his fellow Fiends, and he pursues his passions and prejudices with fightening intensity. He carries a deep seated hatred of the Tremere, although this is born from his jealousy of their knowledge than a need to repay any slight to the honour of his Clan. Though he is usually a dignified gentleman, urbane and courteous, with a scintillating wit that belies his inhumanity, he can be prone to sudden bursts of black rage. His temper is difficult to understand, as what would pass as a mere faux pas might drive him into a fury, and an apparently grievous insult can be dismissed without a second thought, and his particular standards are as mutable as his flesh.

Phyrfaerie

Nyk, Im all for you joining me, but your age is a tad old for what I have in mind.. Please refer to the earlier posts regarding the age cap. Thanks.

Nykteus

Which age should I reduce? He lived roughly 70 years before he was Embraced, and has been a Tzimisce for roughly 50.

Winterborn

William "Billy Mac" Pipersson.

Age: 45 (Living), 4 (Dead).

Bio: A relatively new Cainite but an old-school Pander, Billy Mac was created in one of the mass raisings during a bloody siege down in Texas. Though his Sire didn't know him from Adam, he was picked up specially due to his reputation as an almost-stereotypical outlaw biker, a cold killer who pulled no punches, even before his Embrace. For most of his life, he spent most of his time hitting the throttle and the bottle too hard, when he wasn't helping his club smuggle illegal guns in from Mexico to fuel the inner city crime of Houston and Dallas.

Even after four years, Billy Mac's connections are intact; his club voted him a Nomad shortly after his mysterious absence, granting him the authority to go where he pleases and giving him access to all the resources they have to offer, be they monetary or informational. Needless to say, these cannot be drawn on too often lest the club become suspicious, but the well is deep and his needs relatively few. The gang's influence extends beyond the border of his home state, and their associates are found all over the country and beyond.

If he was anarchistic and brutal before, he is now a complete monster: A follower of the Path of the Feral Heart. To him, civilization is nothing, the Sabbat is all, and his Beast is the angel on his shoulder, showing him the proper course by whispering in his ear. Though followers of his path generally eschew modern trappings, he retains his affinity for motorcycles and guns in token respect of his past.

Nykteus

Thanks for the heads up, and I've made the modification.

I should add that I'll probably have to go with True as well, since we can't have the only genuine vampire being outranked by the doggerel spawn of mere leeches. I can't see a septuagenarian scholar being likely to have been inducted as a shovelhead either.

If the role of Priest is unfilled, then Vladimir will at least give put himself forward for the job. Perhaps the potential candidates could decide by some sort of fair competition, such as being the first one to survive aggravating an Ahroun. In the interests of being diplomatic, Vlad will offer to go last.

Winterborn

On the subject of how we should start the game and gain positions, I'd like to start as a newly formed pack. The characters most likely don't know each other (at least no one knows mine, seeing as how he's from a very different area), they come from all different walks of life, and they're all relatively young and looking to make their mark.

If nothing else, the first Vaulderie would be very cool RP, in my mind.

Blitzy

*Whispers.*

I'm pretty sure Phyr has an opening post set up and has an idea of how to intermingle us. Just give her some time to get it up. She's got a life, kids, and a hubby. :P

Well, I'm sure there are plenty of other things for us to hash out while we're waiting like good, patient boys and girls. For instance, it occurs to me that Vlad would have no bother building up a herd of nubile girls if he swallowed his pride and used Vicissitude to look like that skinny kid from Twilight. I wouldn't be surprised if those novels were the brainchild of a Tzimisce who wanted to muddy the waters after Stoker spilled the beans.

Winterborn

Stephanie Meyer is far more diabolical than any Tzimisce...

Nykteus

I've never read the books or seen the films, so I just prefer to assume that they end with Peter Cushing and Wesley Snipes joining forces to murder the entire cast of characters with chainswords.

Hellion000

Stupid Sabbat.

Everyone with two lukewarm braincells knows that the Camarilla is better, and the Followers of Set are the best.

At least we've uncovered the Twilight fans among us. Let us join together in prayer, and the tactical use of flamethrowers.

I think he means me, which is totally false.

Nyk, I meant that what you said was the best thing ever. Not Twilight.

Nykteus

Anyone who loves Camarilla can't love vampires. Even Dracula is a Tzimisce. You wouldn't see a Sabbat vampire turning up in Anne Rice's "Lestat And Armand Go Shopping For Kinky Boots". It's been a few years since I read Blackwood Farm, and I still haven't recovered. It's be like finding out that R.A. Salvatore was a pseudonym for J.R.R. Tolkien.

I should point out that I was skitting the Setities. I know that no one could possibly find a flaw in the idea of Van Helsing with a chainsword.

Blitzy

...Man I think you might fit right in with this crowd, Nyk. Sarcastic bunch of fuckers. LOL

Camarilla can be good... if played right. *Shrug.* As with most things WoD.

Nykteus

I have to admit that my first introduction to the WoD came with Werewolf. Much as I love vampires, I'll take a Fianna Ahroun any day of the week. There's simpy something magical about a character that will rip the piss out of you one minute, and rip the lungs out of you the next.

Granted, I do intend to have my Tzimisce boyo emulate a certain Liverpudlian sorceror, just because I do love mocking authority.

Blitzy

My first introduction was with oWoD VtM. But I moved on to nWoD, where I love most of the splats... Werewolf and Changeling being my two personal favs. I'm a horrible person for saying this but, I didn't really care too much for oWoD Werewolf.

Nykteus

Maybe it's a gender thing. I, personally, couldn't find it in myself to turn down a nine foot tall killing machine with deep animistic beliefs. Granted, I'm also the sort of Storyteller who had my players face down Abominations and Predators, so I might not be the most reliable source. Still, it was rather fun when the Malkavian was the only person who noticed that the red dots on the coterie leader's back formed an equilateral triangle.

Hellion000

Twilight? *snickers* You're not a fan of politics, are you, Nyk?

See, the Sabbat is perfect for mindless brutesquadding with religious overtones thrown in. So... in a lot of ways its a lot like the Crusades. Fitting, no? After all, the Sword of Caine is engaged in a millenia long crusade against the (allegedly mythical) Antideluvians and their Elder pawns. The problem with the Sabbat is two-fold.

One- Players. The typical Sabbat player (sadly) couldn't politic himself out of high school with a copy of Mean Girls in one arm and the entire series run of Beverly Hills 90210 in the other. The typical Sabbat player is as two dimensional as his PotenceCelerityObfuscateFortitudeSerpentisProtean having character is.

Two- Characters. Not only the characters themselves, but the concept as viewed through the setting. The Sword of Caine is supposed to be comprised of brainwashed Neonate and Ancillae grade Licks who passionate and deeply believe in the legends taught to them by the True'd Shovelheads who survived a decade or so of being cannon fodder; the aforementioned (almost) Elder Shovelheads who are True (finally) and are now in positions like Priest, Ductus, and if they're extremely lucky maybe the odd Bishop, Templar, and Black Hand member; a smattering of Vampires literally old enough to remember that the Sabbat was not a religious movement at first; and lastly the obscenely powerful bastards like Moncada who are EXACTLY THE SORT OF CREATURE THEY'RE CLAIMING TO BE FIGHTING AGAINST. However, 90% of the characters (both PC and NPC) are designed to be, at best, two dimensional mockeries and at worst min maxed combat wombats that were designed to 'win the game'.

Now, I'm not Trolling you or anyone else in this thread just to be a dick. Phyr and I are very close rl friends, and I was just messing with her, buuuuut accusing me of being some sort of Twilight junky because I prefer a game where you have to think (like the Camarilla or a FoS game) is exactly the sort of gauntlet throwdown I just can't resist.

I'm not mad, by any means, but I just couldn't NOT reply!

Blitzy

Oh. OH. Oh oh oh.. I see. You're friends with -Phyr- IRL. Aaaah. But not me? I see, I see.

And I hate politics so I dislike the Camarilla for that reason. A -good- Camarilla game is hard to find, as is a good Sabbat game. But it's why I know that this one will be different. ;)

It's Phyr's thread, hooker. *smirks* So she got special mention.

Edit to Add:

In order to appease her Blitziness, I must not append my comments to include the following.

Blitzy is so awesome that when I look at her my eyes bleed love. She's my rl friend too, and not just that- she's the mother to be of my next child and my next ex-wife.

Shit. I love you like a fat kid loves cake but you know damned well THAT ain't happenin'.

Nykteus

I barely caught something involving wombats, and a Texan telling me that I didn't understand politics. I'd be inclined to give a smart answer, but unfortunately it seems as though the Troubles are starting up again, and it'd be remiss of a Catholic Irishman to pass judgement on another when sectarian grumpiness is wrapping it's filthy claws around that dream of a Socialist Britain.

Anyone else remember Kindred: The Embraced? All I can recall is the Bruhas and the Alien Bounty Hunter from the X-Files being a rather scary chap. Oh, and a Ventrue using Protean.

Winterborn

Dammit. I think this guy is a better Texan Bastard than I'll ever be...

But I can try to beat 'im!

Hellion000

Being the decendents of Catholic Irishmen, I'll join you in solidarity, and give you a pass this time.

Descendent. I'm one person. Usually.

So lets get down to brass tacks, shall we? I thought my initial post was very clear regarding my simple idea. I would run a Sabbat Pack. Im pretty sure that means Im going to do it. I appreciate that you want to start your politicking, however, I will be posting opening posts when I get time to not half-ass it. I dont need to tell you all that I have kids that are under 6 and need monitoring or that I have a family life that I make run smoothly, but I have, so I will thank you to keep your enthusiasm in check. That may seem a bit harsh to some that dont know me, but I not here to be pressured into posting before I am ready. If you dont like it, there are always other places to play. Yes, Im a bitch. Im okay with it.  Now, I will have my posting up for the setting soon, hopefully sometime tonight, so please, I will ask nicely for some patience from my players and some slack. I will bring you a game that is the best that I can offer, and not some halfass job.

Catholic Scotsmen here. Though we were supposedly MacNeills, so the line there is blurry.

Anyway! While I won't contest that Sabbat is very easy to combat-wombat for, take a look at my character. (Second Sabbie, btw.)

So, sure, he's a biker with a reputation for killing, right? He's also a Pander, who are well known for resorting to violence, and most of them are born in the midst of it. He's also a follower of the Path that says "You're an animal. Hungry? Go eat." and eschews the trappings and morals of humanity. His Disciplines are planned to be Celerity, Potence, and Awe. Does this sound 2D?

@Phyr, sorry if it came off like I was saying "GOGOGOGOGOGO--". I really wasn't trying to goad you into posting any faster, just throwing out some suggestions for something that might get the story rolling. Notice I quit when Blitzy said you'd probably have something worked up already? Apart from that, consider me prostrated on the floor, head raised in both hands.

Rishon Tam

We love you, Phyr! Some of us even in a fashion that could be discussed in polite company.
I apologize if I inadvertently said anything offensive. I'll wait nicely -- promise.

Nykteus

Scots are different, everyone knows that they're Godforsaken. Your average Glaswegian makes the Tzimisce look like the inhabitants of Never Never Land.

Besides, as the only Fiend in the group, cross me and you'll spend the next week trying to intimidate Ron Perlman. I just found out that he was Harry the sasquatch today. It's nearly as shocking as when I realised that the Third Doctor was also Wurzel Gummidge.

Blitzy

In case it's missed on the update... We haz OOC room!
