OVERVIEW:

History

Anaïs was born in Seville in southern Spain. Her father was Spanish-American and had met Anaïs's mother while working in Spain. The family of three eventually moved to the United States when Anaïs was 10 years old. It was a definite culture shock for her but her father had lost his job in Seville and so had returned to his hometown in search of employment. With next to no money the small family had no choice but to move in with Anaïs's paternal grandparents. Her mother hadn't worked since she was born and shunned the idea of working a minimum wage job. It put a strain on the marriage, the two fought constantly. Unable to handle the unsuccessful new life in America, Pilar fled back to Spain. She promised she would send for her daughter when she had the means to do so. Anaïs felt completely betrayed by her mother. Her father had taken up drinking and wasn't really a source of support or comfort.

Tragedy struck again when at 16, Anaïs lost her grandparents. They died within two months of each other. They had left the house and their other assets to their son. It wasn't much but it did help. Her father had managed to get a job teaching at a local school. He was a high functioning alcoholic, Anaïs tended to avoid him and threw herself into her studies. In her last year of high school she made some stupid mistakes, like making a certain video with a certain girl and having it found by her father on a certain laptop. The two got into an explosive argument that culminated with Anaïs getting thrown out. It was the roughest year of her life. She spent a week or so living out of the car her grandparents had left her before she moved in with a guy she had met a few months back. He was not a good guy, not in the least. In fact he was mixed up in some pretty crazy things, drug dealing being one of them. It was a terrible environment for her to be in. It was a miracle that she was still going to school. Somehow school was the only part of her life that kept her sane, something last vestige of her normal life, something simple and mundane that kept her grounded.

After almost a year her father reached out to her again. He was willing to take her back in, help her get into college under one condition, that she work on her 'issues'. She had told him repeatedly that she wasn't gay and that she had just been experimenting but he didn't want to hear it. He didn't believe her. Things hadn't gotten worse with her boyfriend so Anaïs was in no position to be a chooser and that was how she ended up at Jamison. It was better than nothing, certainly not as bad some of the students made it out to be then again, she wasn't being forced to outright deny her sexuality like some of them were.

Personality

Anaïs is a hardworking individual. She doesn't expect any help from anyone, in fact she naturally assumes that she'll have to do everything on her own. In that same vein, she is a bit of a control freak. She feels way more at ease when she feels she has complete control of a situation. Some people have called her overconfident, that's not true of course because she has her insecurities like everyone else but she comes off as very sure of herself and in many ways she is. She is stubborn as all hell specifically when she knows that she is right (which is 99.9% of the time  :P). Anaïs also enjoys speaking her mind, she can be a bit blunt but never for the sake of being crass, just because people need to hear a little honesty (seriously it's a rare thing these days). She's also pretty artsy which always surprises people when they see what her major is.

OVERVIEW:

History

Tristan had a rather unorthodox upbringing. His family owned a Bed & Breakfast in the sleepy town of Newport, Oregon. It wasn't your average establishment. The hotel was a safe haven for book lovers. Each room is styled after a famous author and there are no telephones, wifi, TVs, in any of the guests' rooms. His mother had inherited the hotel from her grandfather but it was under her and her husband's vision that it became what it is today. Tristan's parents were book addicts. They had a deep love for literature in all its forms and had named each of their children after literary heroes. The children were not allowed to watch any television except for the designated movie nights the family had each week. In many ways his childhood could be called strict in the sense that his parents stressed the importance of healthy and clean living. He and his siblings were raised Quaker and his parents stressed the importance of social justice.

It was a large family and Tristan was smack dab in the middle. He had always been close with his siblings. The family was a tight knit one in general. His parents had always been understanding of each of their children's unique personalities and tastes. Even when Tristan began to embrace a more alternative sort of lifestyle, almost following in the footsteps of his eldest sister Scout, they embraced the change. Despite his looks Tristan had always been a hardworking student. His family was proud of his academic success although they did raise their eyebrows at his choice to attend Jamison Prep considering the school's abhorrent involvement with conversion therapy. His best friend and fellow bandmate was going there for school. The music was too important to them to break up the band.

So far he has enjoyed his time at Jamison. It is his second year at Graduate school. Tristan is the lead singer and bass player of a band (voice and music provided by RL band Royal Blood). They aren't famous  but they have gained some local recognition. Currently Tristan is struggling with the decision to pursue music full time or finish his degree.

Personality

Tristan is a generally quiet individual, always been a bit introverted. It had always been hard competing for a voice in a family of seven which is probably why he turned to music to give him one. Once you do get to know him you'll find that despite his perceived intensity he is actually an easygoing and kindhearted individual. That being said, once Tristan is on stage he is a completely different person. His usually quite confidence is put on display for everyone to see.
