I had just about completed a post for this thread:  https://elliquiy.com/forums/index.php?topic=255991.0  when I had a brief power outage and, of course, I lost everything I had composed.

I'm wondering if E buffers posts and, if so, is there any way you could recover what I had in place before my power went out?  It would save me a great deal of time if that were possible.

Thank you for reading.   :-)

If I've been online here on E but I haven't replied to your post or message, there are several possible reasons - none of which involve ignoring you.  Be patient - I'm worth it.

Not sure if the post in question is retrievable, but in future, Lazarus is your friend. (Also available for Chrome.)

and find that the dark, too, blooms and sings,
and is traveled by dark feet and dark wings.

I've use Lazarus for several years now and it has saved my bacon numerous times.  The pop up menu gives you the chance to recall your most recent posts and if you use Firefox you can find a listing in your addon options where you can access a search using key words.  Both come in handy for me. :-)

BAMF

I personally use Google Docs to write my posts. It saves every so often. I write my post up in there & then transfer it over. That way, if I don't finish a post before I go to bed, it'll still be there later.

The Greasemonkey script for Elliquiy also has a nice draft feature, though it saves locally and doesn't carry through to other devices.

It isn't the first time I've lost something as I've been a software developer for a few decades now and it's pretty much inevitable - if not online then through my own laziness or mistakes.  Ah well, I wrote it once, and maybe the new version will be better!

I usually use a local app to write posts and then copy and paste as BAMF does with Google Docs.  But I think Lazarus will be my safety net from now on as Lilias and Beguile's Mistress have suggested.

Thanks for all the help!  :-)

Lazarus is well worth having, Lrrr. I use it all the time. Sorry you lost your post. No matter how hard I try, the next time I write something out it never feels quite as good as the original.

Lazarus is the only add on that has saved my cheeks enough times that I felt pleased to make a donation to the creator. ; )
