Actually Iron Sky is actually a good movie, it's just full-on camp. :)

It's a good bad movie not a so bad-it's-good movie. :3
If you're searching the lines for a point, well you've probably missed it; there was never anything there in the first place.

Beorning

I'd disagree with that. For me, Iron Sky was a huge disappointment.

Now, you people are saying that there's going to be a sequel with dinosaurs??? Oh wow...

Ryven

You're disappointed by a bad movie?

Also, how can you be disappointed when they reveal an armed space vessel named the USS George W. Bush?  I think that was the best point of the movie for me.

Yes.  They're making one with lizard nazis and Hitler riding a T-Rex inside a hollow earth.

Callie Del Noire

Does Near Dark (1987) count?

A vampire move where the 'V-vord' is never said.

Heh, I pretty much loved Near Dark at once when I saw it. It felt inventive, cool, with a nice mix between the gritty and the punk ironic, the hoary and the modern. And visually it was great (loved the soundtrack too, it really fit the dusky landscape images).

It's a reboot of sorts, of course; they're replanting the vampire myth in a modern-day outback, semi-Western setting. But it felt very good to have the vampire connection implied and  shown but not printed in big block type. With lines like "I hate it when they ain't shaved" after a good bite into somebody's throat it's fairly clear anyway.

On topic, Telefon (1979, with Charles Bronson as a KGB man "helping" the US spooks in hunting down a runaway Russian agent who sets off sleeper agents with a hypnotic poem by Robert Frost) is popcorn if you'd look a bit closer at the plot but strangely compelling and very entertaining. I've seen it several times on TCM and always enjoy it.

Big Trouble in Little China with Kurt Russell. The movie had one of my favorite movie quotes.

'If we're not back by dawn...call the president'

That and Escape from L.A. also featuring Kurt Russell.

It's so bad it actually becomes sort of good.

I'm shocked no one has mentioned Teeth yet... O:)

That's cause Teeth is an actually great movie. ;)

Most of my favorites have already been listed, but Showgirls is probably my favorite so-bad-it's-great movie. Especially the version edited for TV.

ASYLUM FILMS

Some are junky junk that is fun to watch - Transmorphers.

Some are decent knock offs that rise about trash to be fun usually due to a plot and decent acting - American Warships.

And then the gems like - Sharknado and Sharknado 2.

I have yet to see one that just uber sucked they accept what they are the studio of C movies, that has fun being that, got to love them.

Batman & Robin. It was the first Batman movie I ever saw and my introduction to Gotham. I don't get the super hate this movie gets. I adore the camp and oh my are the puns abundant. Plus Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy? I think she's amazing in the role with how much gleeful fun she's having with it. For me it's really one of those so-bad-it's-brilliant sort of movies  8-)

Over the course of that wonderfully terrible movie that the sharks were made of adamantium and could breath above water, so yes, they'd take Wolverine in a fight. XD

Well we have a paradox here.

Sean Connery can't be in a bad movie, but Zardos is a bad movie, but it has Sean Connery, but Zardos is a bad movie, ad infinitum...
If you're searching the lines for a point, well you've probably missed it; there was never anything there in the first place.

Oniya

I hear Sean Connery has tried to wipe away his memories of being in that movie.  Does that help with the paradox?

But with actually acting with Tara Reid in it, and its considered by bad movie fans a great bad movie.

And I own Zardoz if any man could in me its Connery.

I'd like to submit the Gingerdead Man series as participants. They're so bad that they actually become fun to watch at some point.

So I had some friends once, who convinced me that Beyond the Wall of Sleep was like, the best movie they'd ever seen. This was back when Blockbuster was still a thing, and I spent real, actual, U.S. American dollars renting it.

And then I watched it.

Suffice to say, they are no longer my friends.

I've said it before - 'If there's a book that predates the movie, the book will be better.'  That and a library card has saved me many a wasted greenback.

While I'd usually agree most of the cases, I think GoT (and, to an extent, Lord of the Rings - I love Tolkien, but his writing can be frustrating) is a whole different beast. Probably because Martin is a producer and he's using the show to explore possibilities he can't in the books, but I don't feel like I'm watching something worse when I'm watching the show. I feel like I'm watching something that is mostly different. Which is weird because it's the same franchise but even though most adaptations are worse than the original, I can't feel that with GoT - I feel like the books and the show are two separate projects, both by Martin, each having its strengths and weaknesses.

Of course, I might be completely wrong, but that's how the show feels to me  ;D

My brother and I just watched Foodfight. We've seen reviews of it, but that didn't prepare us for how hideous and unfunny this movie is. It's kind of fascinating.

There is one exception to this in my book that proves the rule and that's Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. The books was just a little moralityy tale for kids. The movie had a much, much, much better resolution than the book. Despite what Dahl bemoaned.
