Hello again, lovely Elliquiy writers,

I've decided that my request thread needs more specifics in order to successfully attract the writers who will pair well with my style.  I am passionate about writing and worldbuilding.  It's time to take my approach to finding partners seriously as well.
I put work into what I do because I LOVE it!! My past background in theatre (acting/writing) really has an influence on what I do here.
(FYI: I've done a LOT of writing in private documents with partners.  The majority of my writing is not on E)

My genres are:

Tolkien! Not just Lord of The Rings! Please...take me away to that world and I may never return (and no I will not play a hobbit! :P )

High Seas - This is a very HOT topic for me.  I am totally unfulfilled and need this.

DnD (drow, elves, etc - Im *very* familiar with Forgotten Realms) - If we choose the characters together I'm almost always game for this kind of adventure

Game of Thrones - I have always had a serious thing for Jaqen H'ghar, more than any other character - if you have the ability to be so zen, tell me. Make this one come true, and I promise I'll do almost anything for you.

historical - This is wide open.  I'm open for 16th and 17th century historical romance, as well as pagan European stories.  But for both of these especially, a modicum of research is good.  But PLEASE - see my O/Os - I will not regress to dim-witted times.

old west/pioneer days - I see stories that could be built around a Hell On Wheels world (Anybody willing to play Anson Mount's character for me?), or a pioneer widow and a gunslinger of some sort - I want ideas. Clint Eastwood flicks too.

Romance and drama - historical settings usually fall into this category.  As a rule though, I am INTO romance.

Norse  - I want to write about the raids, and I see a pagan girl who was taken and a norse warrior - they develop a forbidden type 'thing'(not highest on my list)
Greek
other unique places and spaces - you tell me! I'm talking unique worlds that are not heavy metal scifi.
fantasy  - I read fantasy and nonfiction exclusively these days (Tolkien, Greenwood, Tad Williams, Stephen R. Donaldson, etc)  Try me.  See my O/Os

My characters are almost always strong women who get to finally meet their match.  I LOVE the challenge, conflict, thinking, puzzle, mystery of attraction, the coming to understanding that this entails.
I find submissive characters boring, on either side! I don't need a meathead man either! Overly macho characters really turn me off.  Please see my O/O page.

And yet MORE INFO!

I have favorite movies because I'm a movie freak - I've seen thousands. But I am also a snob for quality and a unique story.  Here are *some* of my favorite movies and TV shows, which might be open for roleplays, try me :)

MOVIES
The Piano
The Red Violin
The Shipping News
Smoke Signals
300
Amelie
Master and Commander Far Side of the World
Lord of The Rings - all of them!
Lost In Translation
Sweet Land
Girl with a Pearl Earring
The Secret of Roan Inish
A Streetcar Named Desire
Excaliber
Dragonslayer
King of California
all the old original Hollywood musicals (happytimes, man! maybe what we need are more musicals!)
Shakespeare of any kind

TV SHOWS
Firefly (but NO Jayne rps, sorry)
Stargate Universe
Lost Girl (!!!)
Penny Dreadful
GAME OF THRONES

These are some specifics that are of utmost importance to me. Please, read through them.

1) I cannot emphasize enough, nor will I ever back down, that good spelling and appropriate grammar are ESSENTIAL. If I look back through your posts and see that you drop words, misspell consistently, forget punctuation consistently, and the like, I will not write with you.  I'm sorry. From experience it's devastating to start a beloved story idea and discover later that your writing partner is anything but what they intimated.  This is not saying that MISTAKES HAPPEN - it means that when you are proofreading your post before posting it you have edited and found *most* your errors. I'm not perfect, but I try my damnedest. If your writing is good, then it's so much easier to let errors slide.

2) A wide vocabulary for detail is VERY important.  Never underestimate how much better a story is when two humans use many variations of descriptive verbs, adjectives, and nouns.  Do you utilize a thesaurus when you write a post for someone?  If so, we may be a good fit.  Consider the PLETHORA of words available to us, to color and define our imaginary worlds and characters! There's no need to use the same adjective over and over, or verb for that matter.  I WANT this in our writing.  On the other hand, make sure you KNOW what a word means and use it correctly (see 1) above )

3) Characterization is VITAL to a beautifully written role play.  Do you know what your character loves? What are your character's goals, plans for the future, what about the past?  Where has he lived, who has he loved? What has made him who he is? What tragedies have befallen him, to make him evolve and grow and mature? These are the kinds of things that all my characters have.  They INFLUENCE YOUR CHARACTER'S ACTIONS - this is why they are of utmost importance.  Without them your character is a CLONE.  Boring.

4) A MATURE viewpoint makes for better writing! It's true, there is no substitute for life experience.  Which is why I suggest that my writing partners at LEAST be in the age group of having graduated college, or traveled the world a bit (and I dont mean Spring Break booby parties in Daytona).  I've lived in 9 states and one other country, have moved 45 times (not for military), and have had numerous relationships. My world view is open, and Im a pagan free-thinker, I think globally and act locally, artist, dreamer, altruist, activist for change, anarchist. I am mature. I'd like to think my writing shows it. However, the caveat is my enthusiasm can make me regress to 8 years old! And my sense of humor is that of a sarcastic 12 year old at times.

5) Story-line will ALWAYS be more important than smut.  In fact, if you cant weave a story with me, we certainly wont be able to write about fucking. I love writing sex scenes, but the story and characters have to be solid, and I mean 'several posts' solid.

6) Consistent writing! (not applicable to 'shit happens' or sickness situations) I need very much to have at least 1-2 posts a week from my writing partner.  I simply lose the connection to my character with less than 1 post a week.  Which is DEVASTATING TO ME!!   Please, please, don't overestimate your time just because you want to try something with me.

7) Friendliness and willing to discuss and brainstorm ALL THE THINGS will get you EVERYWHERE with me very quickly! I will connect on YM, SKYPE, etc to make it possible.  I am an open and friendly individual.  I have a strange sense of humor at times, I'm geeky as well as idealistic as hell.

8) Story-line and world-building are the reason I write!! PLEASE do NOT attempt to contact me with a boring story set in present day about INCEST, College Life, Bars, Marriages gone bad, or anything else you can find on crappy TV. I am into the fantastical, the beautiful, magical, unexpected, sometimes bizarre, otherworldly.  I have had ENOUGH of regular modern day life to last me until I die.

9) Passion, teasing, mystery, longing, playfulness, ROMANCE...these are aspects to character interaction that will hook me.

Well...you've made it this far? So? The gauntlet has been passed- breathe a sigh of *thank god THAT shit is over with* and lets move on to serious business ;)

Adding The Count of Monte Cristo as a storyline that always intrigues me (hence my E profile name).

Seeking a skilled and detailed writer with a mature viewpoint and hearty imagination to write a high seas adventure, the first attempt failed.
I dont want to let that character die, there's a story there.  Please see below for more details on how I write and what Im seeking in a writing partner. :)
